The effect ofpH value, high gravity factor, liquid flow-rate and electric...The integrated high gravity-ultrasonic/ozonation/electrolysis technology was applied in the pretreatment of wastewater containing nitrobenzene. The effect ofpH value, high gravity factor, liquid flow-rate and electric current density on removal of COD and nitrobenzene compounds was investigated. Experimental results have determined the optimal pro- cess regime involving a high gravity factor of 100, an electric current density of 20 mA/cm2, a liquid flow-rate of 100 L/h, and an initial liquid pH value of 11. After the wastewater had been treated for 180 rain, the degradation of nitrobenzene and COD reached 99% and 80%, respectively, with the biochemical coefficient (BOD/COD) equating to 0.64, and the subse- quent treatment of wastewater could be carried out by conventional biochemical means. Compared with traditional aeration- ozone contactors, a rotating packed bed with high mass transfer characteristics could be used to increase the ozonation treat- ment efficiency.展开更多

It investigates the relationship between a lack of music ...This paper is about the development of applications for a more specific and therefore more effective teaching and instructional technology usage in classrooms. It investigates the relationship between a lack of music in educational films and its effect on film evaluation and interest gain in educational film topics. Results of the presented study raise the assumption of a need for music as central characteristic of learners related to the effects of educational science films: Basically, it shows that the evaluation of educational films is based on emotional as well as on factual criteria and that both dimensions are positively related to the interest of learners in the film content. Further it shows that learners with need for music, compared to their classmates that do not state a need for music, exhibit a significant worse evaluation on the film factual characteristics and a reduced class performance, as measured by reduced interest in the film topic, the research area and the motivation to carry out follow-up research on the topic. Implications are discussed.展开更多

In China, coal-fired power is the main generating electricity style; more than 2,000 millions tons coal has been consumed in coal-fired power plants in China. In order to control CO2 emission, three technologies has been introduced, CCS (carbon capture and storage), oxy-combusion, and IGCC (integrated gasification combined cycle). CCS and IGCC technologies are expensive and need too many facilities; besides, there are some concrete problems need to resolve on the oxy-combustion technology.
