According to the measured levels of UV radiation, aging tests of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) asphalts with different contents of three anti-UV-aging agents including nano-TiO2, CeO2 and carbon black are performed. Common indices, which include retained penetration after thin film oven tests (TFOT) and softening point, and strategic highway research program (SHRP) indices of aged asphalts are evaluated. Infrared absorption spectral analysis is performed on asphalt specimens with 0. 8% carbon black which have been aged for different aging times (500, 1000 and 1 500 h). By grey incidence analysis, the optimal contents of anti-UV-aging agents are determined. The results show that TiO2 and CeO2 are not only good UV absorbing or shielding agents, but also strong oxidants. Carbon black is a good anti-UV-aging agent, and its optimal content is about 0. 8% of asphalt weight. UV aging of asphalt mainly occurs in the early stages of aging. The longer the aging time, the more severe the aging of asphalt.展开更多

METHODS: Ca-Hb3 was isolated by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) followed by digestion with trypsin. Trypsin peptides were analyzed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/ MS). The proteins identified by mass spectrometry were analyzed using bioinformatics. RESULTS: Ca-Hb3 was identified as a CKAP4-like protein by Nano HPLC tandem mass spectrometry analysis. The molecular weight of CKAP4-like protein was 62.02 kDa, including one hydrophobic region, one transmembrane domain, five coiled coils, four glycosylation sites and forty-nine phosphorylation sites. CKAP4-like protein had a high homogeneity with DeltaNp63α. The characteristic expression of DeltaNp63α that is considered a potential oncogene in the isoforms of p63 was similar to that of Ca-Hb3. CONCLUSION: Ca-Hb3 is probably a CKAP4-like protein, belonging to DeltaNp63α isoform of p63 family.展开更多

In this research, the anti-inflammatory activities of essential oil and the antibacterial activities of ethanol extraction were determined, respectively. Results showed that based on the GC-MS analysis there were 35 kinds of active ingredients in the essential oil in totally, mainly including D-limonene(24.158 ml/L), α-Pinene(23.325 ml/L), Camphor(9.855 ml/L),Camphene(7.076 ml/L), Verbenone(6.685 ml/L), Borneol(5.580 ml/L), etc. The LCUV determination indicated that the main components in the ethanol extractionwere rosmarinic acid(3 910 mg/kg) and carnosic acid(2 970 mg/kg). By mice peritoneal macrophage phagocytosis of chicken erythrocytes experiment, the essential oil of rosemary was shown having a significant role in anti-inflammation. And the ethanol extraction had broad-spectrum antibacterial effects, but had no effect on mold by the agar diffusion method of 8 bacteria. As a result, both rosemary essential oil and ethanol extraction had good potential medicinal values.展开更多

Kernels of four varieties of mangoes of Indian origin were studied. Kernels were extracted with five different solvents, tested for extraction efficiency and total phenolic content (TPC). As the methanol proved to be the best solvent, it was used for further analysis. The methanolic extracts of kernels had reducing power (RP) and scavenged 2, 2 diphenyl-l-picryl hydrazyl (DPPH) radical, which is related to their antioxidant activity (AA). When analyzed in HPLC, the extracts showed the presence of phenolic compounds. The extracts had the higher capacity to reduce the formation of peroxides and slow down the rate of oxidation than butylated hydroxyl toluene (BHT) in refined, bleached deodorized soybean oil (RBD SBO). Based on the results obtained mango kernels are potential source of natural antioxidants owing to their antioxidant activity.展开更多

New tools for the analysis of the seismic behaviour of plan-asymmetric structures are herein presented and the concepts of "Polar Spectrum" and limit domains are discussed. In particular, the capacity of the structure is described by using the limit domains based on the Non Linear Static Procedures, while the seismic demand is analysed by introducing a new representation of the spectral response. This representation is based on the construction of a spectral surface obtained by the spectral seismic response for different in-plan directions and the in-plan projection of this surface is herein defined "Polar Spectrum". The obtained results for two benchmark structures, verified by means of non-linear incremental dynamic analyses, have pointed out that non-linear static analyses, carried out for different in-plan directions of the incoming seismic action, have allowed us to accurately evaluate the least seismic resistant directions.展开更多

Using the least flow resistance path principle, the hydrodynamic cell trapping in serpentine arrays can be carried out in a deterministic and automatic manner without the assistance of any external fields. The experimental results show that a cell trap rate of higher than 95% can be easily achieved in our ceil trapping microdevices. Using the maximum length sequences (MLS) technique, our home-made EIS is capable of measuring the impedance spectrum ranging from 1.953 kHz to 1 MHz in approximately 0.5 ms. Finally, on the basis of the developed single-cell analysis system, we precisely monitor the trapping process of human breast tumor cells (MCF-7 cells) according to the changes of electrical impedance. The MCF-7 cells with different trapping conditions or sizes can also be clearly distinguished through the impedance signals. Our portable single-cell analysis system may provide a promising tool to monitor single cells for long periods of time or to discriminate cell types.展开更多
