In consideration of the influence of natural wind pressure to analyze the stope face differential pressure, gob air leakage field distribution and gas migration regularity theoretically. Established a two-dimensional physical model with one source and one doab, and applied computational fluid dynamics analysis software Fluent to do numerical simulation, analyzed and contrasted to the areas of gob air leakage on size and gas emission from gob to working face on strength when using the downlink ventilation and uplink ventilation. When applied downward ventilation in stope face, the air leakage field of gob nearly working face, and the air leakage intensity were smaller than uplink, this can effectively reduce the gas emission from gob to working face; when used downlink ventilation, the air leakage airflow carry the lower amount of gas to doab than uplink ventilation, and more easily to mix the gas, reduced the possibility of gas accumulation in upper comer and the stratified flows, it can provide protection to mine with safe and effective production.展开更多

It is extremely difficult to establish the temperature profile inside the canned milk during continuous industrial scale operation. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation can be a useful tool to determine the temperature distribution of the fluid inside the can during the sterilization process. A CFD model was developed for the sterilization of canned milk at 121 ~C. The simulation results were validated with the experimental measurements of temperatures. The formation and movement of slowest heating zone (SHZ) during the sterilization process was tracked. Moreover, effect of can position (vertical and horizontal) during processing on milk temperature distribution inside the can was also investigated. Higher Grashof and Rayleigh numbers were obtained for vertical positioning of can compared to horizontal can processing. Further, effectiveness of the process was calculated based on F-value and these results reinforced the positive effect of horizontal position of can during the sterilization process.展开更多

Calculation gives a satisfied description about the secondary structure of the cellulose. As the chain number increasing, the cellulose becomes the form of a helix, with the diameter of screw growing and spiral rising. Interestingly, the celluloses with chain number N of 4, 6, 24 and 36 do show right-hand twisting. On the contrast, the celluloses with N of 8, 12, 16 chains are left-hand twisting. These simulations indicate that the cellulose with chain number larger than 36 will break down to two parts. Besides, the result indicates that 36-chains cellulose model is the most stable among all models. Furthermore, the Lennard-Jones potential determines the secondary structure. In addition, an equation was set up to analyze the twisting structure.展开更多

Numerical model of a turbine sail is established with Gambit software. The aerodynamic characteristics of the turbine sail are described with RNG k-e turbulence model and the numerical simulation is carded out with Fluent software. The influence of sail's structure is analyzed including plate, separation type and height/width ratio. The lift coefficients and drag coefficients of the simulated turbine sail are calculated under different rotation angles, suction intensity and separation plate position. The calculated results are compared with the wind tunnel experimental results, which verifies the feasibility of the numerical results and establishes a foundation for the optimal design of turbine sails.展开更多

In two dimensions, the dynamic scaling exponent 1/2 for coalescence and 2/3 for inertial regimes in the shallow quench and strong finite size effects in the cases of deep quenching were obtained. In three dimensions, it was used that the diffusive regime with exponent n=l/3 in the shallow quench and the inertial hydrodynamic regime with n=2/3 for different quenches. The viscous effects are not clearly reflected, showing n=1/2 in both shallow and deep quenches in this time period, due to the soft nature of interaction potential adopted in dissipative particle dynamics.展开更多

We propose a mathematical system to model this situation. All the feasible equilibria of the system are obtained and the conditions for the existence of the equilibriums are determined. Local stability analysis of the TPPZ is studied by using the fractional Routh-Hurwitz stability conditions. Numerical simulations are carried out for a hypothetical set of parameter values to substantiate our analytical findings.展开更多
