In this paper, stochastic model to compete the probability that target penetrates the defended area along any flight path is established by the state analysis and statistical equilibrium analysis of stochastic service system theory. The simulated annealing algorithm is an enlightening random search method based on Monte Carlo recursion, and it can find global optimal solution by simulating annealing process. Combining stochastic model to compete the probability and simulated annealing algorithm, this paper establishes the method to solve problem quantitatively about combat configuration optimization of weapon systems. The calculated result shows that the perfect configuration for fire cells of the weapon is fast found by using this method, and this quantificational method for combat configuration is faster and more scientific than previous one based on principle via map fire field.展开更多
The discrete element method is used to simulate specimens under three different loading conditions(conventional triaxial compression,plane strain,and direct shear)with different initial conditions to explore the und...The discrete element method is used to simulate specimens under three different loading conditions(conventional triaxial compression,plane strain,and direct shear)with different initial conditions to explore the underlying mechanics of the specimen deformation from a microscale perspective.Deformations of specimens with different initial void ratios at different confining stresses under different loading conditions are studied.Results show that the discrete element models successfully capture the specimen deformation and the strain localization.Particle behaviors including particle rotation and displacement and the mesoscale void ratio distributions are used to explain the strain localization and specimen deformation.It is found that the loading condition is one of the most important factors controlling the specimen deformation mode.Microscale behavior of the granular soil is the driving mechanics of the macroscale deformation of the granular assembly.展开更多

To maintain the applicability of ...By combining properly the simulated annealing algorithm and the nonlinear programming neural network, a new hybrid method for comtrained global optimization is proposed in this paper. To maintain the applicability of the simulated annealing algorithm used in the hybrid method as general as possible, the nonlinear programming neural network is employed at each iteration to find only a feasible solution to the original constrained problem rather than a local optimal solution. Such a feasible solution is obtained by solving an auxiliary optimization problem with a new objective function. The computational results for two numerical examples indicate that the proposed hybrid method for constrained global optimization is not only highly reliable but also much more effcient than the simulated annealing algorithm using the penalty function method to deal with the constraints.展开更多

Local minimum is a most intractable but is an encountered frequently problem in potential field based robot navigation.Through appointing appropriately some virtual local targets on the journey, it can be solved effectively. The key concept employed in this algorithm are the rules that govern when and how to appoint these virtual local targets. When the robot finds itself in danger of local minimum, a virtual local target is appointed to replace the global goal temporarily according to the rules. After the virtual target is reached, the robot continues on its journey by heading towards the global goal. The algorithm prevents the robot from running into local minima anymore. Simulation results showed that it is very effective in complex obstacle environments.展开更多

The local bifurcation of this system is investigated by using L S method and the singularity theory. The Z 2 bifurcation in non degenerate case is discussed. The local bifurcation diagrams of the unfolding parameters and the bifurcation response characters referred to the physical parameters of the system are obtained by numerical simulation. In this paper, based on the remote sensing geo-...Soil Conservation Service (SCS) model, developed by U. S. Soil Conservation Service in 1972, has been widely applied in the estimation of runoff from an small watershed. In this paper, based on the remote sensing geo-information data of land use and soil classification all obtained from Landsat images in 1996 and 1997 and con-ventional data of hydrology and meteorology, the SCS model was investigated for simulating the surface runoff for single rainstorm in Wangdonggou watershed, a typical small watershed in the Loess Plateau, located in Changwu County of Shaanxi Province of China. Wangdonggou watershed was compartmentalized into 28 sub-units according to natural draining division,and the table of curve number (CN) values fitting for Wangdonggou watershed was also presented. During the flood period from 1996 to 1997, the hydrograph of calculated runoff process using the SCS model and the hydrograph of observed runoff process coincided very well in height as well as shape, and the model was of high precision above 75%. It is indicated that the SCS model is legitimate and can be successfully used to simulate the runoff generation and the runoff process of typical small watershed based on the remote sensing geo-information in the Loess Plateau.展开更多

This method can calculate the refresh area befor e calculating the intersection line, simulate the machining environment accurate ly and reduce the calculating time. Finally, an example of the virtual cutting s cene is shown to demonstrate the effects of the global illumination model. If th e CUP is 1.3 G and the internal memory is 128 M, the refreshing time of virtual turning scene can be reduced by nine times.This study plays an important role in the enrichment of the virtual manufacturing theory and the promotion of the dev elopment of the advanced manufacturing technology.展开更多

In the present CPDA network, we add some chaotic parameters in the energy function, which make the Hopfield neural network escape from the attraction of a local minimal solution and with the parameter annealing, our model will converge to the global optimal solutions quickly and steadily. The converge ability and other characters are also analyzed in this paper. The benchmark examples show the present CPDA neural network's merits in nonlinear global optimization.展开更多
We proposed an enhanced image binarization method.The proposed solution incorporates Monte-Carlo simulation into the local thresholding method to address the essential issues with respect to complex background,spatial...We proposed an enhanced image binarization method.The proposed solution incorporates Monte-Carlo simulation into the local thresholding method to address the essential issues with respect to complex background,spatially-changed illumination,and uncertainties of block size in traditional method.The proposed method first partitions the image into square blocks that reflect local characteristics of the image.After image partitioning,each block is binarized using Otsu’s thresholding method.To minimize the influence of the block size and the boundary effect,we incorporate Monte-Carlo simulation into the binarization algorithm.Iterative calculation with varying block sizes during Monte-Carlo simulation generates a probability map,which illustrates the probability of each pixel classified as foreground.By setting a probability threshold,and separating foreground and background of the source image,the final binary image can be obtained.The described method has been tested by benchmark tests.Results demonstrate that the proposed method performs well in dealing with the complex background and illumination condition.展开更多
