In this paper, a non-parametric indicator Kriging method has been proposed for generating coastal sediment map. The method can effectively avoid mapping subjectivity, has no special requirements for the sample data to meet second-order stationary or normal distribution, and can also provide useful information on the quantitative evaluation of mapping uncertainty. The application of the method in the southern sea area of Lianyungang showed that much more convincing mapping results could be obtained compared with the traditional methods such as IDW, Kriging and Voronoi diagram under the same condition, so the proposed method was applicable with great utilization value.展开更多

The discrete model of the nonholonomic chained system under zero-hold was obtained through the integrate method to the continuous model. And the discrete model was transformed to the form with two linear subsystems through coordinate transformation. Two feedback control laws, time-invariant control law and time-varying control law, were proposed; and the local stabilization and global stabilization were realized respectively. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed control laws. The discrete nonholonomic chained system can converge to zero from any initial state exponentially, and the convergence rate can be changed through changing the parameters of the control laws.展开更多

This study examines risk reporting in annual reports of Malaysian listed companies. The mandatory and voluntary disclosures of risk information are analyzed and the authors examine whether a relationship exists betwee...This study examines risk reporting in annual reports of Malaysian listed companies. The mandatory and voluntary disclosures of risk information are analyzed and the authors examine whether a relationship exists between company size, leverage, and industry type and risk disclosure levels. 150 listed companies from five industries are selected as sample. Content analysis and risk disclosure index of dichotomous measurement are used in data collection. Overall the results indicate that level of risk information disclosed in the annual reports is still minimal. OLS (Ordinary least squares) regression analysis indicates that the level of risk information disclosure is positively associated with size and not with leverage. However, a mixed result has been found for industry type; where only property industry shows a significant relationship with level of risk disclosure, and not for the other industries. This study contributes to financial reporting literature in relation to risk reporting, particularly the practice of Malaysian companies. Findings from this study are also useful to regulators and accounting standard setting body to assess the level of compliance to regulations and standards relating to risk reporting by these companies. More studies are required to further understand the importance of risk information disclosure, such as risk disclosure within specific industry, cross-country studies and usefulness of risk information disclosure from the stakeholders' perspectives.展开更多

A new way of understanding the interaction between atmospheric factors and living organisms is presented and some biometeorological indexes already developed are shown. Quantitative real-ti...lsochrysis zhangfiangensis is a potential marine microalga for biodiesel production, which accumulates lipid under ni- trogen limitation conditions, but the mechanism on molecular level is veiled. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) provides the possibility to investigate the gene expression levels, and a valid reference for data normalization is an essential prerequisite for firing up the analysis. In this study, five housekeeping genes, actin (ACT), α-tubulin (TUA), β-tubulin (TUB), ubiquitin (UBI), 18S rRNA (18S) and one target gene, diacylglycerol acyltransferase (DGAT), were used for determining the reference. By analyzing the stabilities based on calculation of the stability index and on operating the two types of software, geNorm and bestkeeper, it showed that the reference genes widely used in higher plant and microalgae, such as UBI, TUA and 18S, were not the most stable ones in nitrogen-stressed 1. zhangjiangensis, and thus are not suitable for exploring the mRNA expression levels under these experi- mental conditions. Our results show that ACT together with TUB is the most feasible internal control for investigating gene expres- sion under nitrogen-stressed conditions. Our findings will contribute not only to future qPCR studies of/. zhangfiangensis, but also to verification of comparative transcriptomics studies of the microalgae under similar conditions.展开更多

Selective harmonic elimination(SHE) in multilevel inverters is an intricate optimization problem that involves a set of nonlinear transcendental equations which have multiple local minima. A new advanced objective fun...Selective harmonic elimination(SHE) in multilevel inverters is an intricate optimization problem that involves a set of nonlinear transcendental equations which have multiple local minima. A new advanced objective function with proper weighting is proposed and also its efficiency is compared with the objective function which is more similar to the proposed one. To enhance the ability of the SHE in eliminating high number of selected harmonics, at each level of the output voltage, one slot is created. The SHE problem is solved by imperialist competitive algorithm(ICA). The conventional SHE methods cannot eliminate the selected harmonics and satisfy the fundamental component in some ranges of modulation indexes. So, to surmount the SHE defect, a DC-DC converter is applied. Theoretical results are substantiated by simulations and experimental results for a 9-level multilevel inverter. The obtained results illustrate that the proposed method successfully minimizes a large number of identified harmonics which consequences very low total harmonic distortion of output voltage.展开更多

The problem of feedback stabilization under proportional-integral-derivative(PID for short) boundary control is addressed. In the proportional-integral(PI for short) controller case, by spectral analysis, the authors provide a complete characterization of the set of stabilizing feedback parameters, and determine the corresponding time delay stability interval. Moreover, the stability of the equilibrium is discussed by Lyapunov function techniques, and by this approach the exponential stability when a damping term is added to the classical PI controller scheme is proved. Also, based on Pontryagin results on stability for quasipolynomials, it is shown that the closed-loop system sub ject to PID control is always unstable.展开更多
