Methods: In the present study, triple-center, single-blind, randomized and control methods were adopted. Qualified subjects were randomly assigned to three groups: acupuncture-massage (acu-mas) group, acupuncture group, and massage group (60 subjects in each group). Bilateral Fengchi (风池 GB 20), Jiaji (夹脊 EX-B 2, C4-7) and Baihui (百会 GV 20) ware punctured in combination with massage at the neck-shoulder and back region. The treatment was conducted once daily, 14 times altogether. Results. After treatment, of the 60 cases in each of acu-mas, acupuncture and massage groups, 28, 11 and 13 were cured, 13, 20 and 17 markedly effective, 12, 14 and 16 effective, and 7, 15 and 14 ineffective, with the total effective rates being 88.3%, 75.0% and 76.7% respectively. The therapeutic effect of acu-mas group was significantly superior to that of simple acupuncture and massage groups (P〈 0.05). The scores of clinical symptoms and signs in 3 groups all declined significantly after treatment ( P〈 0.01 ), and the score of symptoms of acu-mas was markedly lower than those of acupuncture and massage groups (P〈 0.05). No significant differences were found among 3 groups in the score of clinical signs and between acupuncture and massage groups in the score of clinical symptoms (P〉0.05). The time for producing therapeutic effects in acu-mas group was significantly shorter than those of acupuncture and massage groups (P〈0.01, 0.05), meanng a faster of aou-mas group in producing clinical effect. With the social development, because of the enhancement of the medical and hygienic levels and improvement of the life quality, people pay an increasing attention to the issue of CFS. How to solve CFS, currently due to limitation in the theory of Western medicine, there is no concrete therapeutic method, in addition to the suggestion to change bad life style, regulate the psychological status and pay attention to proper balance between fatigue and physical exercise. But, TCM non-medicinal therapies have unique advantage and remarkable therapeutic effect in the elimination of CFS. Now, current-used TCM non-medicinal therapies for sub-health are summarized in the following.展开更多

Methods: A total of 90 cases were randomly allocated into an observation group and a medication group. The 48 cases in the observation group were treated with acupuncture, tuina and functional exercise, whereas the 42 cases in the medication group were treated with Ibuprofen sustained release capsules. Before and after treatment, the short-form McGill pain questionnaire (SF-MPQ) was employed to observe the changes in pain rating index (PRI), visual analogue scale (VAS) and present pain intensity (PPI). In addition, therapeutic efficacies were compared between two groups. Results: The total effective rate in the observation group was 97.9%, versus 61.9% in the medication group, showing a statistical difference (P〈O.05). After treatment, there were statistical differences between the two groups in sensory PRI score, affective PRI score, total PRI score, VAS score and PPI score (P〈O.05); and there were also statistical differences between two groups in clinical sign scoring (P〈O.05). After 4 and 8 weeks of treatment, there was a statistical difference between the two groups in re^apse rate (P〈O.05). Conclusion: Combining acupuncture, tuina and functional exercise can obtain better effects and has a lower relapse rate than Ibuprofen sustained release capsules for transverse process syndrome of the third lumbar vertebra.展开更多

Methods:A total of 97 CTTH cases were randomly allocated into an observation group (n=52) and a control group (n=45). Patients in the observation group were treated with EA plus tuina based on pattern identification, whereas patients in the control group were treated with oral amitriptyline and oryzanol. Patients in both groups were treated for 8 weeks. A follow-up was conducted 3 months after the treatment. The intensity, duration, and frequency of the headache were recorded and compared before and after the treatment. Additionally, the patients' psychological state and quality of life (QOL) were compared between the two groups. Results:There were intra-group statistically significant differences in headache intensity score, headache duration, and headache frequency after the treatment and during the follow-up compared with those before the treatment (allP〈0.05); and there were between-group statistically significant differences during the same time frame (allP〈0.05). The Hamilton depression scale-17 items (HAMD-17) and Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA) scores were significantly reduced in both groups after the treatment or during the follow-up (allP〈0.01); and there were no between-group statistical significances during the same time frame (allP〉0.05). The World Health Organization quality of life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) scores were significantly reduced in both groups after the treatment or during the follow-up (allP〈0.05); and the scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (allP〈0.05) during the same time frame. The total effective rate was 88.0% in the observation group, versus 71.4% in the control group, showing a significant difference (P〈0.05). Conclusion:EA combined with tuina can significantly decrease the frequency of chronic tension-type headache, alleviate headache intensity, shorten headache duration, and improve the patients' wellness. It is better than amitriptyline plus oryzanol.展开更多

The curative effect is not satisfactory as far as its treatment by western and traditional Chinese medicine is concerned, which has a long course of treatment and a high recurrent rate. 70 cases of external humeral epicondylitis were treated by massotherapy after local blocking from August 1995 to October 1997 at this hospital with satisfactory therapeutic effects.Clinical DataOf the 70 cases in this series treated by massotherapy after local blocking, 30 were males and 40 females, ranging in age from 19 to 65 years. 55 cases were 30 to 50 years old, 20 had the left elbow affected and 50 the right elbow. 7 cases had a history of trauma, 50 a history of chronic strain, and 13 the cause unknown. The shortest duration of disease was 15 days and the longest 24 months.Among 50 cases in the control group treated by massotherapy, 20 cases were males and 30 females, ranging in age from 16 to 58 years. 40 cases were 30 to 50 years old. 15 cases were affected on the left elbow and 35 on the right elbow. 6 cases had a history of trauma, 32 a history of chronic strain, and 12 the cause unknown. The shortest duration of diseases was 7 days and the longest 22 months.
文摘Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a severe issue to influence the psychosomatic health of the mankind. Now, current-used TCM non-medicinal therapies for sub-health are summarized in the following.
文摘Objective: To observe the clinical effect of combining acupuncture, tuina and functional exercise for transverse process syndrome of the third lumbar vertebra. Conclusion: Combining acupuncture, tuina and functional exercise can obtain better effects and has a lower relapse rate than Ibuprofen sustained release capsules for transverse process syndrome of the third lumbar vertebra.
文摘Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture (EA) combined with tuina for chronic tension-type headache (CTTH). It is better than amitriptyline plus oryzanol.
