Classifying Data Sets Using Support Vector Machines Based on Geometric Distance

Support vector machines (SVMs) are not as favored for large-scale data mining as for pattern recognition and machine learning because the training complexity of SVMs is highly dependent on the size of data set. This paper presents a geometric distance-based SVM (GDB-SVM). It takes the distance between a point and classified hyperplane as classification rule,and is designed on the basis of theoretical analysis and geometric intuition. Experimental code is derived from LibSVM with Microsoft Visual C ++ 6.0 as system of translating and editing. Four predicted results of five of GDB-SVM are better than those of the method of one against all (OAA). Three predicted results of five of GDB-SVM are better than those of the method of one against one (OAO). Experiments on real data sets show that GDB-SVM is not only superior to the methods of OAA and OAO, but highly scalable for large data sets while generating high classification accuracy. 展开更多

In this letter, a real-time C-V (Characteristic-Vector) clustering algorithm is put forth to treat with vast action data which are dynamically collected from web site. The algorithm cites the concept of C-V to denote characteristic, synchronously it adopts two-value [0,1]input and self-definition vigilance parameter to design clustering-architecture. Vector Degree of Matching (VDM) plays a key role in the clustering algorithm, which determines the magnitude of typical characteristic. Making use of stability analysis, the classifications are confirmed to have reliably hierarchical structure when vigilance parameter shifts from 0.1 to 0.99. This non-linear relation between vigilance parameter and classification upper limit helps mining out representative classifications from net-users according to the actual web resource, then administering system can map them to web resource space to implement the intelligent configuration effectually and rapidly. 展开更多

A multi-scale theoretical model was developed based on the theory of dielectrics. It was realized to predict dielectric properties at higher temperature ( 〉 1200 ℃) by experimental data mining for correlative coefficients in model. The results show that the dielectrics of SiO2/SiO2, which were calculated with the theoretical model, were in agreement with experimental measured value. 展开更多

Consider the design and implementation of an electro-hydraulic control system for a robotic excavator, namely the Lancaster University computerized and intelligent excavator (LUCIE). The excavator was developed to autonomously dig trenches without human intervention. One stumbling block is the achievement of adequate, accurate, quick and smooth movement under automatic control, which is difficult for traditional control algorithm, e.g. PI/PID. A gain scheduling design, based on the true digital proportional-integral-plus (PIP) control methodology, was utilized to regulate the nonlinear joint dynamics. Simulation and initial field tests both demonstrated the feasibility and robustness of proposed technique to the uncertainties of parameters, time delay and load disturbances, with the excavator arm directed along specified trajectories in a smooth, fast and accurate manner. The tracking error magnitudes for oblique straight line and horizontal straight line are less than 20 mm and 50 mm, respectively, while the velocity reaches 9 m/min. 展开更多

However, in today' s era of big data, although the scene is also very important, but based on the various aspects of data mining and analysis and the depth of the formation of information has become more and more important.
