That is, when the input speed is close to 1/3, 1/6, 1/9,…, 1/3 n of the primary natural frequency of the transmission, the loads on the bearings and gears are especially high. A conclusion was drawn that the basic reason for this phenomenon is the primary resonance caused by forcing excitation and parametric resonance caused by parametric change.展开更多

The spectra are dominated with the features from the -Si-CH3 groups around 2905 cm^-1 (symmetric stretch or SS mode) and 2957 ^-1 (mostly the asymmetric stretch or AS mode), and with the weak but apparent contribution from the -O-CH2- groups around 2880 ^-1 (symmetric stretch or SS mode). Comparison of the polarization dependent SFG spectra below and above the critical aggregate or micelle concentration (CAC) indicates that the molecular orientation of the C-H related molecular groups remained unchanged at different surface densities of the Silwet L-77 surfactant. The SFG-VS adsorption isotherm suggested that there was no sign of Silwet L-77 bilayer structure formation at the air/water interface. The Gibbs adsorption free energy of the Silwet surfactant to the air/water interface is -42.2±0.8kcal/mol, indicating the unusually strong adsorption ability of the Silwet L-77 superspreading surfactant.展开更多

As the first step for dynamic seismic response analysis, the free vibration of long large cross-section underground structures is studied in the present paper. The general free transverse vibration motion equation of long large cross-section underground structure is derived with the comprehensive consideration of internal and external damping, effects of shear, cross-sectional rotational inertia and axial force, and a twoparameter soil model. In this way, Timoshenko's beam theory is extended. Two limit cases of free transverse vibration of underground structures are discussed. Parameter study shows that in general wave propagation velocities in structures increase with soil elastic parameters. However the influence of Winkler's parameter k is significant while the effect of the second soil elastic parameter gp is insignificant. The free vibration frequency of underground structures increases with relative wave number and soil elastic parameters. Unlike the influence of soil elastic parameters on wave propagation velocities, the influence of soil elastic parameters k and gp on the vibration frequency of underground structures have the same order; therefore the influence of the second soil parameter gp on the free vibration of underground structures should not be neglected in dynamic seismic analysis of underground structures展开更多

The slosh-spacecraft coupled with flexible appendage in attitude maneuver carrying a sloshing liquid is considered as multi-body system with the sloshing motion modeled as a spherical pendulum. The focus in this paper is that the dynamics of the liquid and flexible appendage vibration are coupled. The equations of motion are derived and transformed into a form suitable for the application of Melnikov’s method. Melnikov’s integral is used to predict the transversal intersections of the stable and unstable manifolds for the perturbed system. An analytical criterion for chaotic motion is derived in terms of system parameters. This criterion is evaluated for its significance to the design of spacecraft. The dependence of the onset of chaos on quantities such as body shape and magnitude of damping values, fuel fraction and torsional vibration frequency of flexible appendage are investigated. In addition, we show that a spacecraft carrying a sloshing liquid, after passive reorientation maneuver, will end up with periodic limit motion other than a final major axis spin because of the intrinsic non-linearity of fuel slosh. Furthermore, an extensive numerical simulation is carried out to validate the Melnikov’s analytical result.展开更多
