In this paper, a comprehensive fatigue analysis is conducted on the mooring lines applied in a semi-submersible platform with special focus on the low frequency(LF) fatigue damage. Several influential factors, including water depth, wave spectral parameters, and riser system, are considered. Numerical simulation of a semi-submersible platform with the mooring/riser system is executed under different conditions, and the fatigue damage of mooring lines is assessed by using the time domain analysis method as a benchmark. The effects of these factors on the mooring line tension and the fatigue damage are investigated and discussed in detail. Research results indicate that the LF fatigue damage only accounts for a very small portion of the total damage, although the LF components dominate the global motion response and the mooring line tension of the semi-submersible platform. However, it is demonstrated that the LF fatigue damage is clearly affected by the influential factors. The increase in water depth and spectral peak periods, and the existence of risers can weaken the contribution of the LF components to the mooring line fatigue damage, while the fatigue damage due to the LF components increases with the increase of significant wave height.展开更多

The areas vulnerable to disasters in Busan, located at southeastern part of Korea, were estimated based on historical records of damages and a risk assessment of the infrastructure was performed to provide fundamental information prior to the establishment of the real-time monitoring system for infrastructure and establish disaster management system. The results are illustrated by using geographical information system(GIS) and provide the importance of the roadmap for comprehensive and specific strategy to manage natural disasters.展开更多
Objective:To evaluate all the possible therapeutic measures concerning the acute management of traumatic brain injury(TBI)mentioned in Cochrane Systematic Reviews published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Re...Objective:To evaluate all the possible therapeutic measures concerning the acute management of traumatic brain injury(TBI)mentioned in Cochrane Systematic Reviews published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews(CDSR).Methods:An exhausted literature search for all published Cochrane Systematic Reviews discussing therapeutic rather than prevention or rehabilitative interventions of TBI was conducted.We retrieved such databases as CDSR and Cochrane Injury Group,excluded the duplications,and eventually obtained 20 results,which stand for critical appraisal for as many as 20 different measures for TBI patients.The important data of each systematic review,including total population,intervention,outcome,etc,were collected and presented in a designed table.Besides,we also tried to find out the possible weakness of these clinical trials included in each review.Results:Analysis of these reviews yielded meanfuling observations:(1)The effectiveness of most ordinary treatments in TBI is inconclusive except that corticosteroids are likely to be ineffective or harmful,and tranexamic acid,nimodipine and progesterone show a promising effect in bleeding trauma,traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage,TBI or severe TBI.(2)A majority of the systematic reviews include a small number of clinical trials and the modest numbers of patients,largely due to the uncertainty of the effectiveness.(3)The quality of most trials reported in the systematic reviews is more or less questionable.(4)In addition,lots of other complex factors together may lead to the inconclusive results demonstrated in the Cochrane Systematic Reviews.Conclusions:For clinical physicians,to translate these conclusions into practice with caution is essential.Basic medication and nursing care deserve additional attention as well and can be beneficial.For researchers,high quality trials with perfect design and comprehensive consideration of various factors are urgently required.展开更多
The experimental system of heat loss of all-glass evacuated solar collector tubes(evacuated tube) is firstly designed and constructed,which uses electric heater as thermal resource.The equilibrium temperatures are les...The experimental system of heat loss of all-glass evacuated solar collector tubes(evacuated tube) is firstly designed and constructed,which uses electric heater as thermal resource.The equilibrium temperatures are less than±1℃during the test.and the temperature differences of up/middle/low node in the tube are less than 1℃,3℃,and 7℃respectively.The heat loss of evacuated tube increases about 2.7%with vacuum state of 0.01--1 mPa,and it has the best performance at tube temperature of 20--280℃.The invalidation tube(>200 mPa) has the biggest heat loss that increases linearly with the tube temperature.The evacuated tubes with the vacuum of 0.01-1 mPa are suitable for most solar adsorption refrigeration.展开更多
