Detailed experimental processes and results are described and carried out. Results indicate that heat transfer coefficient (HTC) is increased with the increase of blowing ratio. When the blowing ratio is lower, the distribution of HTC along the heated wall can be divided into three regions. For larger blowing ratio or diameter, the cooling characteristics oi parallel-inlet film holes are similar to those of convective heat transfer around flat. Furthermore, when hole diameter is deter- mined, the arrangement patterns of film hole and the blowing ratio take a great influence on HTC.展开更多

The linear trend of global mean sea level is highly non-uniform spatially, with an average rate of 2.2 mmyear^-1 in T/P sea-level rise from October 1992 to September 2002. Sea level change due to temperature variation (the thermosteric sea level) is discussed. The results are compared with TOPEX/Poseidon altimeter data in the same temporal span at different spatial scales. It is indicated that the thermal effect accounts for 86% and 73% of the observed seasonal variability in the northern and southern hemispheres, respectively. The TOPEX/Poseidon observed sea level lags behind the TSL by 2 months in the zonal band of 40%-60% in both the northern and southern hemispheres. Systematic differences of about 1-2 cm between TOPEX/Poseidon observations and thermosteric sea level data are obtained. The potential causes tbr these differences include water exchange among the atmosphere, land, and oceans, and some possible deviations in thermosteric contribution estimates and geophysical corrections to the TOPEX/Poseidon data.展开更多

The distribution and recovery of undergroun d field temperature under different operation ratio and the optimal operation ratio were simulated. The performance parameters, i.e. inlet and outlet temperature of the ground spiral coil in heating and cooling modes were tested, the heat extracted or emitted by the heat pump to the ground was calculated, and the coefficients of performance (COP) of GCHP at heat ing and cooling modes were analyzed.展开更多

Using silica as the stabilizing agent, the defect-free membrane was much more stable than pure zirconia. The crystal transformation of zirconia in the silica-stabilized membrane could be prohibited by the interaction between silica and zireonia. ZrO2 crystals were kept tetragonal below 900℃, the size of which did not change with temperature between 700℃ and 900℃. It was further verified by the AFM observation, pore size analysis and permeation study. This thermal stability makes the silica-zirconia membrane a good choice as the intermediate layer for zeolite and Pd-based membranes.展开更多

This model is developed for studying the dynamic thermal behavior of a buried heat exchanger which is an integral part of a so-called direct expansion heat pump. The transient conservative equations of mass, momentum and energy considering single and two-phase flow of refrigerant are derived and presented. The diffusive heat exchange with the ground is treated using an analytical approach to treat short-time scale response of vertical boreholes based on an imposed temperature. The thermal interference between the two pipes of the heat exchanger is also considered. The mathematical equations of the model are numerically presented using a control volume formulation and the solution of the system of equations is obtained by successive iterations. The dynamic behavior of the evaporator is simulated and the numerical results are analyzed regarding spatial parameters distribution and thermal interference influence.展开更多
