The influence of active metal components of catalyst, additives and catalyst preparation method on the reactivity of catalyst for selective hydrodesulfurization (HDS) of FCC naphtha was investigated, and the RSDS-21 catalyst with high HDS performance and the RSDS-22 catalyst with high selectivity were developed by RIPP. The composite loading of a new series of catalysts for selective HDS of FCC gasoline has demonstrated excellent desulfurization activity and selectivity and can under conventional hydrotreating conditions manufacture clean gasoline product meeting the national IV emission standard and the Euro V emission standard with less loss in antiknock index. The finalized new series of FCC catalysts upon being adopted for selective HDS of FCC naphtha have good adaptability to different feedstocks along with good stability. 展开更多

Northeast China has been reported as having serious air pollution in China with increasing occurrences of severe haze epi- sodes. Changchun City, as the center of Northeast China, has longstanding industry and is an important agricultural base. Additionally, Changchun City has a long winter requiring heating of buildings emitting pollution into the air. These factors contribute to the complex- ity of haze pollution in this area. In order to analyze the causes of heavy haze, surface air quality has been monitored from 2013 to 2015. By using satellite and meteorological data, atmospheric pollution status, spatio-temporal variations and formation have been analyzed. Results indicated that the air quality in 88.9% of days exceeding air quality index (AQI) level-1 standard (AQI 〉50) according to the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) of China. Conversely, 33.7% of the days showed a higher level with AQI 〉 100. Ex- treme haze events (AQI 〉 300) occurred frequently during agricultural harvesting period (from October 10 to November 10), intensive winter heating period (from Late-December to February) and period of spring windblown dust (April and May). Most daily concentra- tions of gaseous pollutants, i.e., NO2 (43.8 gg/m3), CO (0.9 mg/m3), SO2 (37.9 gg/m3), and 03 (74.9 gg/m3) were evaluated within level-1 concentration limits of NAAQS standards. However, particulate matter (PM2.5 and PMI0) concentrations (67.3 ~tg/m3and 115.2 ~g/m3, respectively) were significantly higher than their level-1 limits. Severe haze in spring was caused by offsite transported dust and windblown surface soil. Heavy haze periods during fall and winter were mainly formed by intensive emissions of atmospheric pollutants and steady weather conditions (i.e., low wind speed and inversion layer). The overlay emissions of widespread straw burning and coal combustion for heating were the dominant factors contributing to haze in autumn, while intensive coal burning during the coldest time was the primary component of total emissions. In addition, general emissions including automobile exhaust, road and construction dust, residential and industrial activities, have significantly increased in recent years, making heavy haze a more frequent occurrence. There- fore, both improved technological strategies and optimized pollution management on a regional scale are necessary to minimize emis- sions in specified seasons in Changchun City, as well as comprehensive control measures in Northeast China. 展开更多

The catalytic combustion technology for treating waste gases exiting from wastewater treatment system and oil separators in petrochemical enterprises was introduced in this article. Commercial application of this technology showed that the process "desulfurization and total hydrocarbon concentration homogenizationcatalytic combustion" and the associated WSH-1 combustion catalyst were suitable for treating volatile organic gases emitted from the oil separators, floatation tanks, inlet water-collecting well, waste oil tanks, etc. The commercial unit was equipped with an advanced auto-control system, featuring a simple operation and low energy consumption with good treatment effect. Biomass has a tendency to adsorb mercury from the flue gas emissions from fossil fuel combustion. In this paper, we have established an experimental table of the adsorption of mercury vapor by rice husk ash according to the method described in the Chinese national standard GB/T 5009.17-1996. The experimental stud)' was made using rice husk ash samples of different types and at different temperatures. The results show that the carbon content of the rice husk ash was 3.81% after treatment for 1 h at 600℃, the mercury removal rate was above 95%, but the adsorption efficiency was below 20% after incineration for 4 h. The adsorption efficiency of rice husk ash treated by H202 or HCI was very low, while the adsorption efficiency was very high when rice husk ash was pyrolytically carbonized or basified by NaOH; the adsorption efficiency ofbasified rice husk ash sample was up to 98.5%. The carbon content of rice husk ash could affect the adsorption of mercury to some degree, but the internal structure of the rice husk ash samples was a more important factor for adsorption. 展开更多

The increasing awareness of climate change has led organizations to demand a standard procedure to measure and communicate greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions linked to their products or services.The publicly available specification PAS 2050 has been developed in response to broad community and industry desire for a consistent method-carbon footprint for assessing the life cycle GHG emissions of goods and services.Specifically,this paper illustrates the implementation of carbon footprint for a baby stroller in accordance with PAS 2050.A fial value of 321 kg per one stroller including package was calculated.Moreover,the study led to identify raw materials production of the stroller as the main source of GHS emissions where efforts need to focus for emission reduction opportunities.This case study is hoped to be a starting point for organizations to benefit from the increasing application of carbon footprint assessment. 展开更多
