The principle is that the interactive information and the shape information are conveyed to users when they touch virtual objects at mobile terminals by attaching the vibrotactile feedback on a fingertip. The extraction of shape characteristics, the interactive information and the mapping of shape in formation of vibration stimulation are key parts of the proposed algorithm to realize the real tactile rendering. The contact status of the interaction process, the height information and local gradient of the touch point are regarded as shape information and used to control the vibration intension, rhythm and distribution of the vibrators. With different contact status and shape information, the vibration pattern can be adjusted in time to imitate the outlines of virtual objects. Finally, the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified by shape perception experiments. The results show that the improved algorithm is effective for 3D shape haptic rendering.展开更多

The air-dried soils were uniformly sprayed with different concentrations of DEHP, inoculated or left uninoculated with an arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungus, and planted with…展开更多

This study aimed to explore possibility of MTs as a biomarker of Sb pollution. A contact method of filter paper was used to investigate Sb inducing MTs in Eiseniafoetida. Spectrophotometrical and SDS-PAGE (sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electropheresis) analyses were used to determine the nature of the induced MTs samples. Rabbit liver metallothioneins was used as a standard. The results showed that the molecular weight of induced protein was approximately 6-7 kDa. A characteristic absorption peak at 268 nm was observed, which was consistent with the standard. The amounts of Sb-MTs quantified by cadmium hemoglobin saturation method showed a significant positive relationship with increasing Sb exposure. The experiments prove that Sb can induce Sb-MTs in Eiseniafoetida as a biomarker of antimony pollution.展开更多

When remission is achieved and quality of life recovered, a considerable proportion of IBD patients express their desire to travel abroad, be it for business, academic or leisure purposes. Their physicians should help and encourage them whenever possible. However, preventive measures are warranted to minimize the risk, since IBD patients are exposed to the same infections affecting the general population, plus opportunistic infections (OI) related to the immunosuppression. There are a large number of potential OI that might affect patients with IBD. The true prevalence of these infections is unknown, and can vary from country to country. Therefore, reactivation or de novo acquisition of infections such as tuberculosis, malaria, and viral hepatitis will be much more frequent in endemic areas. Therefore, physicians should beaware of these aspects when planning specific preventive measures for patients traveling to a particular country. This includes good control of environmental exposure, chemoprophylaxis when indicated, and the use of a specific vaccination program to prevent endemic infections. In addition, it should be noted that, though the risk of acquiring an infectious disease is probably greater for IBD patients traveling from a developed to a developing country, the inverse situation can also occur; it depends on the previous acquired immunity of the host against infections in any particular environment.展开更多
