On the basis of Caftan decomposition of matrices, the unitary matrices of 2-qutrit are factorized into products of a series of realizable matrices. It is equivalent to exerting a certain control field on the system, and the control goal is usually gained by a sequence of control pulses. The general discussion on the realization of 2-qutrit logic gate is made first, and then the realization of the ternary SWAP gate and the ternary √SWAP gate are discussed specifically, and the sequences of control pulses and drift processes implementing these gates are given.展开更多

Through the analysis of provincial panel data collected during 1998-2008, this work estimates the drivers of pollution in 30 of China's provincial-level divisions. The paper concludes that while China's energy-intensive industries are heavily distributed in eastern and central China, the speed of development toward central and western China has, in recent years, risen continuously. Industries located in eastern China do, however, remain the primary polluters in the country. Notably, regional agglomeration of energy-intensive industries plays a positive role in energy conservation and pollution control in China. This paper also finds that patterns of pollution in China follow the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) with strong inter-provincial discrepancies.展开更多
In order to achieve the Quality of Service(QoS) provisioning and efficient resource utili-zation in cellular network and Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN) integration,an Integrated Ser-vice-Based Call Admission Contro...In order to achieve the Quality of Service(QoS) provisioning and efficient resource utili-zation in cellular network and Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN) integration,an Integrated Ser-vice-Based Call Admission Control(ISB-CAC) scheme is proposed in this paper.The integrated network is modeled by using multi-dimensional Markov chains.The numerical analysis is presented to evaluate the important performance measures such as the blocking probability of originating calls,the dropping probability,and the average transfer time,etc.The steady-state probabilities of the multi-dimensional Markov chains are obtained by using an iterative approach,and the CAC pa-rameters are optimally designed.The analytical model is validated by the computer simulation.It is shown that compared with the conventional WLAN-First Call Admission Control(WF-CAC) scheme,the proposed ISB-CAC scheme not only provides better QoS for mobile users but also utilizes the bandwidth resources more efficiently.展开更多

This research analyzed the influences of different energy quota allocation...This paper examined the impacts of the total energy consumption control policy and energy quota allocation plans on China′s regional economy. This research analyzed the influences of different energy quota allocation plans with various weights of equity and efficiency, using a dynamic computable general equilibrium(CGE) model for 30 province-level administrative regions. The results show that the efficiency-first allocation plan costs the least but widens regional income gap, whereas the outcomes of equity-first allocation plan and intensity target-based allocation plan are similar and are both opposite to the efficiency-first allocation plan′ outcome. The plan featuring a balance between efficiency and equity is more feasible, which can bring regional economic losses evenly and prevent massive interregional migration of energy-related industries. Furthermore, the effects of possible induced energy technology improvements in different energy quota allocation plans were studied. Induced energy technology improvements can add more feasibility to all allocation plans under the total energy consumption control policy. In the long term, if the policy of the total energy consumption control continues and more market-based tools are implemented to allocate energy quotas, the positive consequences of induced energy technology improvements will become much more obvious.展开更多

A new real-time and reliable scheduling algorithm based on time-triggered scheduler with a focus on the CAN-based distributed control systems for independently driving EV is exploited. A distributed control network model for a dual-wheel independendy driving EV is established. The timing and reliabili- ty analysis in the worst case with the algorithm is used to evaluate the predictability and dependability and the simulation based on the algorithm with CANoe software is designed. By changing...This paper proposes an optical device which can continuously change the polarization state of terahertz (THz) waves. The device consists of metal gate, anU-refleetlon coatings, liquid crystal and mirror. By changing the refractive index of liquid crystal in the interface between the metal gate and the mirror, the phase difference between two beams with orthogonal polarization is varied and a continuous phase sliift is achieved. The phase shift of the device is calculated by using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method, and the transmittance and reflectance are calculated by using the rigorous coupled wave analysis (RCWA) method. The results reveal that the structure can realize continuously tunable phase shift for THz wave at 1 THz.展开更多
