A novel method of matching stiffness and continuous variable damping of an ECAS(electronically controlled air suspension) based on LQG(linear quadratic Gaussian) control was proposed to simultaneously improve the road...A novel method of matching stiffness and continuous variable damping of an ECAS(electronically controlled air suspension) based on LQG(linear quadratic Gaussian) control was proposed to simultaneously improve the road-friendliness and ride comfort of a two-axle school bus.Taking account of the suspension nonlinearities and target-height-dependent variation in suspension characteristics,a stiffness model of the ECAS mounted on the drive axle of the bus was developed based on thermodynamics and the key parameters were obtained through field tests.By determining the proper range of the target height for the ECAS of the fully-loaded bus based on the design requirements of vehicle body bounce frequency,the control algorithm of the target suspension height(i.e.,stiffness) was derived according to driving speed and road roughness.Taking account of the nonlinearities of a continuous variable semi-active damper,the damping force was obtained through the subtraction of the air spring force from the optimum integrated suspension force,which was calculated based on LQG control.Finally,a GA(genetic algorithm)-based matching method between stepped variable damping and stiffness was employed as a benchmark to evaluate the effectiveness of the LQG-based matching method.Simulation results indicate that compared with the GA-based matching method,both dynamic tire force and vehicle body vertical acceleration responses are markedly reduced around the vehicle body bounce frequency employing the LQG-based matching method,with peak values of the dynamic tire force PSD(power spectral density) decreased by 73.6%,60.8% and 71.9% in the three cases,and corresponding reduction are 71.3%,59.4% and 68.2% for the vehicle body vertical acceleration.A strong robustness to variation of driving speed and road roughness is also observed for the LQG-based matching method.展开更多

This study proposes the th...To gain an understanding of gas occurrence, distribution is the fundamental basis for preventing gas disasters. Presently, how tectonic structures control gas occurrence remains problematic. This study proposes the theory and elucidates the mechanism of stepwise tectonic control on gas occurrence according to the characteristics of gas occurrence and the patterns of gas distribution in coal mines in North China. On the one hand, tectonic compression and shearing lead to stress concentration and thus deform the coal and reduce the coal seam permeability, further contributing to gas preservation. On the other hand, tectonic extension and rifting lead to stress release and thus improve the coal seam permeability, further contributing to gas emission. Therefore, the distribution zones of tectonic compression, ubiquitous coal deformation, and gas accumulation have been step-wisely revealed, and the coal-gas outburst proneness zones are finally identified. The proposed theory of step-wise tectonic control on gas occurrence is of practical significance for gas prediction and control.展开更多

Nonlinear dynamic inversion(NDI)has been applied to the control law design of quad-rotors mainly thanks to its good robustness and simplicity of parameter tuning.However,the weakness of relying on accurate model great...Nonlinear dynamic inversion(NDI)has been applied to the control law design of quad-rotors mainly thanks to its good robustness and simplicity of parameter tuning.However,the weakness of relying on accurate model greatly restrains its application on quad-rotors,especially nano quad-rotors(NQRs).NQRs are easy to be influenced by uncertainties such as model uncertainties(mainly from complicated aerodynamic interferences,strong coupling in roll-pitch-yaw channels and inaccurate aerodynamic prediction of rotors)and external uncertainties(mainly from winds or gusts),particularly persistent ones.Therefore,developing accurate model for altitude and attitude control of NQRs is difficult.To solve this problem,in this paper,an improved nonlinear dynamic inversion(INDI)method is developed,which can reject the above-mentioned uncertainties by estimating them and then counteracting in real time using linear extended state observer(LESO).Comparison with the traditional NDI(TNDI)method was carried out numerically,and the results show that,in coping with persistent uncertainties,the INDI-based method presents significant superiority.展开更多

However, it is very difficult to examine changes of the sensitivity of the sensors equipped at the ARGO floats, because it is difficult to understand their condition in the sea and the reliability of the data. Quality control must be done in order to avoid the wrong conclusion deduced from the wrong data. One of the realistic methods for quality control of the ARGO data is the comparison with the local climatology. High quality climatological T-S models in northwest Pacific have been built based on the Nansen bottle data and CTD data for the quality control in NMDIS. The performance and lifespan of PEMFC stack are greatly dependent on the parameters...Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) stack temperature and cathode stoichiometric oxygen are very important control parameters. The performance and lifespan of PEMFC stack are greatly dependent on the parameters. So, in order to improve the performance index, tight control of two parameters within a given range and reducing their fluctuation are indispensable. However, control-oriented models and control strategies are very weak junctures in the PEMFC development. A predictive control algorithm was presented based on their model established by input-output data and operating experiences. It adjusts the operating temperature to 80 ℃. At the same time, the optimized region of stoichiometric oxygen is kept between 1.8?2.2. Furthermore, the control algorithm adjusts the variants quickly to the destination value and makes the fluctuation of the variants the least. According to the test results, compared with traditional fuzzy and PID controllers, the designed controller shows much better performance.展开更多

The control of the heading error and cross-track error was accomplished by the yaw torque merely in this case. The hovercraft dynamic model is nonlinear and underactuated. At first the Controllability of course-keeping control for hovercraft was proved, then a course-keeping control law was derived that keeps hovercraft heading constant as well as minimizes the lateral movement of hovercraft. The proposed law guarantees heading error and sway error all converge to zero exponentially. Simulation tests were carried out to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control law. For further research, the disturbance influence would be considered in the dynamic equations.展开更多

It is shown that the sensing properties are influenced by the microstructural features, such as the grain size, the geometry and connectivity between grains, and that the neck controlled sensitivity alone is higher than the neck-grain controlled sensitivity and the difference between the neck controlled sensitivity and the neck-grain controlled sensitivity is large in the high sensitivity range for nano-SnO2 gas elements, which suggests a possible approach to the improvement of the sensitivity of a sensor by decreasing the number of necks of a nano-grain SnO2 gas element.展开更多

Based on the mathematical model, it shows th...To explore the precise dynamic response of the levitation system with active controller, a maglev guide way-electromagnet-air spring-cabin coupled model is derived firstly. Based on the mathematical model, it shows that the inherent nonlinearity, inner coupling, misalignments between the sensors and actuators, load uncertainties and external disturbances are the main issues that should be solved in engineering. Under the assumptions that the loads and external disturbance are measurable, the backstepping module controller developed in this work can tackle the above problems effectively. In reality, the load is uncertain due to the additions of luggage and passengers, which will degrade the dynamic performance. A load estimation algorithm is introduced to track the actual load asymptotically and eliminate its influence by tuning the parameters of controller online. Furthermore,considering the external disturbances generated by crosswind, pulling motor and air springs, the extended state observer is employed to estimate and suppress the external disturbance. Finally, results of numerical simulations illustrating closed-loop performance are provided.展开更多

A three-degree-of-freedom dynamic ...The flutter, post-flutter and active control of a two-dimensional airfoil with control surface operating in supersonic/hypersonic flight speed regions are investigated in this paper. A three-degree-of-freedom dynamic model is established, in which both the cubic nonlinear structural stiffness and the nonlinear aerodynamic load are accounted for. The third order Piston Theory is employed to derive the aerodynamic loads in the supersonic/hypersonic airflow. Nonlinear flutter happens with a phenomenon of limit cycle oscillations (LCOs) when the flight speed is less than or greater than linear critical speed. The LQR approach is employed to design a control law to increase both the linear and nonlinear critical speeds of aerodynamic flutter, and then a combined control law is proposed in order to reduce the amplitude of LCOs by adding a cubic nonlinear feedback control. The dynamic responses of the controlled system are given and used to compare with those of the uncontrolled system. Results of simulation show that the active flutter control method proposed here is effective.展开更多

With regard to the total pressure increase, it ranges between a conventional propeller and a turbofan with very high bypass ratio. This new propulsion system promised a reduction in fuel consumption of 15 to 25% compared to engines at that time.A lot of propfans (Hamilton Standard, USA) with different numbers of blades and blade shapes have been designed and tested in wind tunnels in order to find an optimum in efficiency, Fig.1. Parallel to this development GE, USA, made a design of a counter rotating unducted propfan, the so-called UDF, Fig.2. A prototype engine was manufactured and investigated on an in-flight test bed mounted at the MD82 and the B727. Since that time there has not been any further development of propfans (except AN 70 with NK 90-engine, Ukraine, which is more or less a propeller design) due to relatively low fuel prices and technical obstacles. Only technical programs in different countries are still going on in order to prepare a data base for designing counter rotating fans in terms of aeroacoustics, aerodynamics and aeroelasticities. In DLR, Germany, a lot of experimental and numerical work has been undertaken to understand the physical behaviour of the unsteady flow in a counter rotating fan.展开更多

This development was largely stimulated by the novel idea of active control of the aerodynamic ...This paper reviews the development in the research of flow instability and its control over the recent ten or more years. This development was largely stimulated by the novel idea of active control of the aerodynamic instability in compressors. Three topics are covered in the paper, which appeared as the major themes towards the goal of stability enhancement. The first topic is the pre-stall behavior of rotating stall, which plays a vital role in designing the control scheme and discovering the convenient route to find the causal factors of flow disturbances potentially leading to stall. The second topic is the mechanism of blade passage flow during stall and its inception, which is the basic knowledge needed to manipulate the blade design for the stability improvement and eventually to predict the unsteady performance of the compressor system. The third topic is the recent trend of the control strategy based on the learning of active vs. passive methods. To introduce to the discussion of these topics, a brief description of the history of the recent development is given at the beginning of the paper. In discussing each topic, future works are also highlighted to enhance the further development of this long-standing problem in turbomachinery research and application.展开更多
Herein, we describe a strategy for fabricating ordered mesoporous In2O3-reduced graphene oxide(r GO)nanocomposite through ultrasonic mixing, where ordered mesoporous In2O3 nanoparticles are synthesized via the nanocas...Herein, we describe a strategy for fabricating ordered mesoporous In2O3-reduced graphene oxide(r GO)nanocomposite through ultrasonic mixing, where ordered mesoporous In2O3 nanoparticles are synthesized via the nanocasting route by using mesoporous silica as a hard template, which possess ordered mesostructure with a large surface area of 81 m2g-1, and r GO nanosheets are synthesized from graphite via graphene oxide(GO) as intermediate. After coupled with r GO, mesoporous In2O3 could maintain its ordered mesostructure. We subsequently investigate the gas-sensing properties of all the In2O3 specimens with or without r GO for different gases. The results exhibit the ordered mesoporous In2O3-r GO nanocomposite possesses significantly enhanced response to ethanol even at low concentration levels, superior over pure mesoporous In2O3 nanoparticles. Similar strategy could be extended to other ordered mesoporous metal oxide–r GO nanocomposite for improving the gas-sensing property.展开更多

T...A novel circulation control technique is proposed to overcome the shortcomings of blowing jet circulation control, which uses the synthetic jet as the actuator and avoids the limitation about air supply requirement. The effectiveness of synthetic jet circulation control to enhance lift of NCCR1510-7067N airfoil is confirmed by solving the 2-D unsteady Reynolds-averaged Na- vier-Stokes equations. The aerodynamic characteristics and the flow structure (especially close to the trailing edge) of NCCR 1510-7067N airfoil at zero angle of attack are also presented to discuss the mechanism of lift enhancement of the airfoil with synthetic jet circulation control. The results indicate that the synthetic jet can effectively delay the separation point on the airfoil trailing edge and increase the circulation and lift of the airfoil by Coanda effect. The numerical simulation results demonstrate that the lift augmentation efficiency with synthetic jet circulation control reaches △C1/Cμ,=114 in the present study, which is much higher than the value 12.1 in the case with steady blowing jet circulation control.展开更多

One of the realistic methods for quality control of the ARGO data is the comparison with the local climatology. High quality climatological T-S models in northwest Pacific have been built based on the Nansen bottle data and CTD data for the quality control in NMDIS. The models are used to check the ARGO data in this area and have got good result.
文摘This paper provided a fuzzy-PI control. It makes use of the advantages of fuzzy controller for dynamic characteristics, and the advantages of PI control for steady characteristics of pneumatic position servo. Experimental results show that positioning accuracy meets the conventional industrial needs, and prove that the fuzzy-PI controller to be correct and more effective than the usual PID controller. The control method improve the dynamic and steady characteristics of the system.

文摘Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) stack temperature and cathode stoichiometric oxygen are very important control parameters. The performance and lifespan of PEMFC stack are greatly dependent on the parameters. So, in order to improve the performance index, tight control of two parameters within a given range and reducing their fluctuation are indispensable. However, control-oriented models and control strategies are very weak junctures in the PEMFC development. A predictive control algorithm was presented based on their model established by input-output data and operating experiences. It adjusts the operating temperature to 80 ℃. At the same time, the optimized region of stoichiometric oxygen is kept between 1.8?2.2. Furthermore, the control algorithm adjusts the variants quickly to the destination value and makes the fluctuation of the variants the least. According to the test results, compared with traditional fuzzy and PID controllers, the designed controller shows much better performance.
文摘The course-keeping control of underactuated hovercraft with two aft propellers was considered. The control of the heading error and cross-track error was accomplished by the yaw torque merely in this case. The hovercraft dynamic model is nonlinear and underactuated. At first the Controllability of course-keeping control for hovercraft was proved, then a course-keeping control law was derived that keeps hovercraft heading constant as well as minimizes the lateral movement of hovercraft. The proposed law guarantees heading error and sway error all converge to zero exponentially. Simulation tests were carried out to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control law. For further research, the disturbance influence would be considered in the dynamic equations.

文摘The electrical potential inside a cylinder with a space charge layer is used to express the neck potential barrier of nano-SnO2 gas elements, and the neck-controlled sensitivity and the grain size effect are studied. It is shown that the sensing properties are influenced by the microstructural features, such as the grain size, the geometry and connectivity between grains, and that the neck controlled sensitivity alone is higher than the neck-grain controlled sensitivity and the difference between the neck controlled sensitivity and the neck-grain controlled sensitivity is large in the high sensitivity range for nano-SnO2 gas elements, which suggests a possible approach to the improvement of the sensitivity of a sensor by decreasing the number of necks of a nano-grain SnO2 gas element.

文摘To explore the precise dynamic response of the levitation system with active controller, a maglev guide way-electromagnet-air spring-cabin coupled model is derived firstly. Based on the mathematical model, it shows that the inherent nonlinearity, inner coupling, misalignments between the sensors and actuators, load uncertainties and external disturbances are the main issues that should be solved in engineering. Under the assumptions that the loads and external disturbance are measurable, the backstepping module controller developed in this work can tackle the above problems effectively. In reality, the load is uncertain due to the additions of luggage and passengers, which will degrade the dynamic performance. A load estimation algorithm is introduced to track the actual load asymptotically and eliminate its influence by tuning the parameters of controller online. Furthermore,considering the external disturbances generated by crosswind, pulling motor and air springs, the extended state observer is employed to estimate and suppress the external disturbance. Finally, results of numerical simulations illustrating closed-loop performance are provided.

文摘The flutter, post-flutter and active control of a two-dimensional airfoil with control surface operating in supersonic/hypersonic flight speed regions are investigated in this paper. A three-degree-of-freedom dynamic model is established, in which both the cubic nonlinear structural stiffness and the nonlinear aerodynamic load are accounted for. The third order Piston Theory is employed to derive the aerodynamic loads in the supersonic/hypersonic airflow. Nonlinear flutter happens with a phenomenon of limit cycle oscillations (LCOs) when the flight speed is less than or greater than linear critical speed. The LQR approach is employed to design a control law to increase both the linear and nonlinear critical speeds of aerodynamic flutter, and then a combined control law is proposed in order to reduce the amplitude of LCOs by adding a cubic nonlinear feedback control. The dynamic responses of the controlled system are given and used to compare with those of the uncontrolled system. Results of simulation show that the active flutter control method proposed here is effective.
文摘In the mid seventies a new propulsor for aircraft was designed and investigated - the so-called PROPFAN. With regard to the total pressure increase, it ranges between a conventional propeller and a turbofan with very high bypass ratio. This new propulsion system promised a reduction in fuel consumption of 15 to 25% compared to engines at that time.A lot of propfans (Hamilton Standard, USA) with different numbers of blades and blade shapes have been designed and tested in wind tunnels in order to find an optimum in efficiency, Fig.1. Parallel to this development GE, USA, made a design of a counter rotating unducted propfan, the so-called UDF, Fig.2. A prototype engine was manufactured and investigated on an in-flight test bed mounted at the MD82 and the B727. Since that time there has not been any further development of propfans (except AN 70 with NK 90-engine, Ukraine, which is more or less a propeller design) due to relatively low fuel prices and technical obstacles. Only technical programs in different countries are still going on in order to prepare a data base for designing counter rotating fans in terms of aeroacoustics, aerodynamics and aeroelasticities. In DLR, Germany, a lot of experimental and numerical work has been undertaken to understand the physical behaviour of the unsteady flow in a counter rotating fan.
文摘This paper reviews the development in the research of flow instability and its control over the recent ten or more years. This development was largely stimulated by the novel idea of active control of the aerodynamic instability in compressors. Three topics are covered in the paper, which appeared as the major themes towards the goal of stability enhancement. The first topic is the pre-stall behavior of rotating stall, which plays a vital role in designing the control scheme and discovering the convenient route to find the causal factors of flow disturbances potentially leading to stall. The second topic is the mechanism of blade passage flow during stall and its inception, which is the basic knowledge needed to manipulate the blade design for the stability improvement and eventually to predict the unsteady performance of the compressor system. The third topic is the recent trend of the control strategy based on the learning of active vs. passive methods. To introduce to the discussion of these topics, a brief description of the history of the recent development is given at the beginning of the paper. In discussing each topic, future works are also highlighted to enhance the further development of this long-standing problem in turbomachinery research and application.

文摘Herein, we describe a strategy for fabricating ordered mesoporous In2O3-reduced graphene oxide(r GO)nanocomposite through ultrasonic mixing, where ordered mesoporous In2O3 nanoparticles are synthesized via the nanocasting route by using mesoporous silica as a hard template, which possess ordered mesostructure with a large surface area of 81 m2g-1, and r GO nanosheets are synthesized from graphite via graphene oxide(GO) as intermediate. After coupled with r GO, mesoporous In2O3 could maintain its ordered mesostructure. We subsequently investigate the gas-sensing properties of all the In2O3 specimens with or without r GO for different gases. The results exhibit the ordered mesoporous In2O3-r GO nanocomposite possesses significantly enhanced response to ethanol even at low concentration levels, superior over pure mesoporous In2O3 nanoparticles. Similar strategy could be extended to other ordered mesoporous metal oxide–r GO nanocomposite for improving the gas-sensing property.

文摘A novel circulation control technique is proposed to overcome the shortcomings of blowing jet circulation control, which uses the synthetic jet as the actuator and avoids the limitation about air supply requirement. The effectiveness of synthetic jet circulation control to enhance lift of NCCR1510-7067N airfoil is confirmed by solving the 2-D unsteady Reynolds-averaged Na- vier-Stokes equations. The aerodynamic characteristics and the flow structure (especially close to the trailing edge) of NCCR 1510-7067N airfoil at zero angle of attack are also presented to discuss the mechanism of lift enhancement of the airfoil with synthetic jet circulation control. The results indicate that the synthetic jet can effectively delay the separation point on the airfoil trailing edge and increase the circulation and lift of the airfoil by Coanda effect. The numerical simulation results demonstrate that the lift augmentation efficiency with synthetic jet circulation control reaches △C1/Cμ,=114 in the present study, which is much higher than the value 12.1 in the case with steady blowing jet circulation control.
