为优化连铸中间包内钢液的流动形态以有效去除非金属夹杂物,提出了一种带有不同孔径的多孔控流器。以某钢厂70 t两流板坯连铸中间包为原型,搭建1∶4的水力学模型测量RTD曲线,建立三维数值模型分析流场,研究了拉速和控流器安装位置对中... 为优化连铸中间包内钢液的流动形态以有效去除非金属夹杂物,提出了一种带有不同孔径的多孔控流器。以某钢厂70 t两流板坯连铸中间包为原型,搭建1∶4的水力学模型测量RTD曲线,建立三维数值模型分析流场,研究了拉速和控流器安装位置对中间包钢液流动特性的影响,得到最佳控流装置组合。结果表明:安装控流器的中间包内钢液流动状态得到改善,运动轨迹得以延长,钢液平均停留时间增大,死区体积分数减小。当控流器与挡墙间距为150 mm时,安装孔长径比S_(f)=4的控流器效果较佳。拉速分别为1.0、1.2、1.4 m/min时,死区体积分数分别减小了17.42%、15.55%、28.72%,峰值时间分别延长了75、41、56 s,平均停留时间分别延长了78、87、126 s。 展开更多

The model can use the fast P Q decoupled load flow method. Examples of test systems show that the proposed model and method have good convergence. An all-digital hybrid current regulation scheme for the single-phase shunt active power filter (APF) is presented. The proposed hybrid current control scheme integrates the deadbeat control and the dual-mode structure repetitive control (DMRC) so that it can offer superior steady-state performance and good transient features. Unlike the conventional schemes, the proposed scheme-based APF can compensate both the odd and the even order harmonics in grid. The detailed design criteria and the stability analysis of the proposed hybrid current controller are presented. Moreover, an improved structure which incorporates the proposed hybrid controller and the resonant controller for tracking specific order harmonics is given. The relationships between the resonant controller and different repetitive control schemes are discussed. Experimental results verify the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed hybrid control scheme. 展开更多

To study the pheno... Plasma flow control is an active flow control technology that based on the plasma aerodynamic actuation. It can be used to enhance the aerodynamic characteristics of aircraft and propulsion systems. To study the phenomena occurring in plasma aerodynamic actuation and the mechanism of plasma flow control, the induced flow velocity of the plasma aerodynamic actuator is experimentally investigated under a variety of parameter conditions. The results indicate that plasma aerodynamic actuation accelerates the near surface air at velocities of a few meters per second, and there is an angle about 5° between the mainstream and the actuator wall and a spiral vortex is formed when the induced flow is moving along the wall. Besides, with the fixed frequency, the induced flow velocity increases linearly with the applied voltage, but it is insensitive to the frequency when the applied voltage is fixed. And the configuration is an effective factor for the performance of the plasma aerodynamic actuator. 展开更多

Semi-active control for vibration attenuation of vehicle suspension with symmetric MR damper

A semi-active force tracking PI controller is formulated and analyzed for a magnetorheological (MR) fluid-based damper in conjunction with a quarter-vehicle model. Two different models of the MR-damper are integrated into the closed-loop system model, which includes: a model based upon the mean force-velocity (f-v) behaviour; and a model synthesis comprising inherent nonsmooth hysteretic force and the force limiting properties of the MR damper. The vehicle models are analyzed to study the vibration attenuation performance of the MR-damper using the semi-active force tracking PI control algorithm. The simulation results are also presented to demonstrate the influence of the damper nonlinearity, specifically the hysteresis, on the suspension performance. The results show that the proposed control strategy can yield superior vibration attenuation performance of the vehicle suspension actuated by the controllable MR-damper not only in the sprung mass resonance and the ride zones, but also in the vicinity of the wheel-hop. The results further show that the presence of damper hystersis deteriorates the suspension performance. 展开更多

In order to start up the brushless DC motor (BLDCM) without reverse rotation and smoothly switch the running state of the motor, a novel startup and smoothly switching method for a sensodess BLDCM is presented. Based on the saturation effect of the stator iron, six short voltage pulses are applied to determine the initial rotor position and the rotor can be found within 60°. After that, a series of short and long voltage pulses are used to accelerate the motor and the variation of the response current is utilized to detect the rotor position dynamically. When the motor reaches a certain speed at which the back-electromotive force (EMF) method can be applied, all the power devices are turned off and the running state of the motor is smoothly switched at the moment determined by the relationship between the terminal voltage waveform and the commutation phases. On the basis of the theoretical analysis of a single-machine infinite-bus (SMIB), using the modified linearized Phil- lips-Heffron model installed with unified power flow controller (UPFC), the potential of the UPFC supplementary controller to enhance the dynamic stability of a power system is evaluated by measuring the electromechanical controllability through singular value decomposition (SVD) analysis. This controller is tuned to simultaneously shift the undamped electromeehanical modes to a prescribed zone in the s-plane. The problem of robust UPFC based damping controller is formulated as an optimization problem according to the eigenvalue-based multi-objective function comprising the damping factor, and the damping ratio of the undamped electromechanical modes to be solved using gravitational search algorithm (GSA) that has a strong ability to find the most optimistic results. The different loading conditions are simulated on a SMIB system and the rotor speed deviation, internal voltage deviation, DC voltage deviation and electrical power deviation responses are studied with the effect of this flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) controller. The results reveal that the tuned GSA based UPFC controller using the proposed multi-objective function has an excellent capability in damping power system with low frequency oscillations and greatly enhances the dynamic stability of the power systems. 展开更多

A novel type of ballast for HID is proposed without an acoustic resonance. The system consists of high frequency DC/DC converter,DC/AC inverter(SLA2403M), high voltage igniter and a microcontroller unit(MCU). The proposed ballast controls the complex start-up process and constant power process by programming on the rnicrocontroller. It is verified that experimental results agree well with the calculated ones. The ballast features such functions as failure protection, line under-voltage, line over-voltage, output short circuit and disconnection protections. 展开更多

It is a challenge to verify integrity of dynamic control flows due to their dynamic and volatile nature. To meet the challenge, existing solutions usually implant an "attachment" in each control transfer. However, the attachment introduces additional cost except performance penalty. For example, the attachment must be unique or restrictedly modified. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to detect integrity of dynamic control flows by counting executed branch instructions without involving any attachment. Our solution is based on the following observation. If a control flow is compromised, the number of executed branch instructions will be abnormally increased. The cause is that intruders usually hijack control flows for malicious execution which absolutely introduces additional branch instructions. Inspired by the above observation, in this paper, we devise a novel system named DCFI- Checker, which detect integrity corruption of dynamic control flows with the support of Performance Monitoring Counter (PMC). We have developed a proof-of-concept prototype system of DCFI-Checker on Linux fedora 5. Our experiments with existing kemel rootkits and buffer overflow attack show that DCFI- Checker is effective to detect compromised dynamic control transfer, and performance evaluations indicate that performance penaltyinduced by DCFI-Checker is acceptable. 展开更多

Two types of coaxial self-balancing robots(CSBR)were proposed,one can be used as a mobile robot platform for parts transporting in unmanned factory or as an inspector in dangerous areas,and the other can be used as a personal transporter ridden in cities.Mechanical designing and control structures as well as control strategies were described and compared in order to get a general way to develop such robots.A state feedback controller and a fuzzy controller were designed for the robot using DC servo motors and the robot using torque motors,respectively.The experiments indicate that the robots can realize various desired operations smoothly and agilely at the velocity of 0.6 m/s with an operator of 65 kg.Furthermore,the robustness of the controllers is revealed since these controllers can stabilize the robot even with unknown external disturbances. 展开更多

It is trained by optimizing the hyperparameters using the scaled conjugate gradient algorithm with the squared exponential covariance function employed. Experimental simulations show that the soft sensor modeling approach has the advantage via a real-world example in a refinery. One is to keep the desired excess ratio(to provide sufficient reactant airflow) to ensure fast transient response arid to minimize auxiliary power consumption, and the other one is to control the cathode pressure in stack within an acceptable range. In reality, the big inertia of stack's airflow-supplying activator limits the bandwidth of air-flow supply loop, which makes the first objective difficult to achieve, and another difficulty is that airflow is coupled with the cathode pressure in stack, which make it uneasy to keep the pressure unchanged in case of airflow perturbation. In order to overcome these difficulties, three dependant controllers are presented in this paper to control airflow, deeouple the cathode pressure in stack from airflow and stabilize the cat bode pressure in stack respectively. The effectiveness of these controllers is proven by subsequent simulation and test results. 展开更多

In order to charge batteries and supply all the electrical devices like wheel-motors used in a heavy-duty hybrid electric vehicle, a solution consists in using an assembly permanent magnet generator driven by a diesel engine and a three-phase insulated gate bipolar transistor/diodes bridge controlled rectifier connected to the battery. In this work, hysteresis current control strategies combined with a judicious current sensing mode for the assembly permanent magnet synchronous machine-controlled rectifier are investigated. Main issues first concern the different kinds of transistors switching modes allowed by the proposed current sensing mode when the machine operates either as a generator or as a motor. Second, the modulated hysteresis method is presented, which merges the performances of robustness and dynamic of the classical hysteresis method and imposes the switching frequency alike pulsewidth modulation techniques. A test bench at reduced power permits to test the switching modes as well as classical and modulated hysteresis methods for both motor and generator operating modes and to validate the simulation predictions. The digital signal processor algorithm elaborated for the control strategy is flexible and adaptable to all kinds of transistor switchings and machine operating modes. 展开更多

Wind energy sources have different structures and functions from conventional power plants in the power system.These resources can affect the exchange of active and reactive power of the network.Therefore,power system stability will be affected by the performance of wind power plants,especially in the event of a fault.In this paper,the improvement of the dynamic stability in power system equipped by wind farm is examined through the supplementary controller design in the high voltage direct current(HVDC)based on voltage source converter(VSC)transmission system.In this regard,impacts of the VSC HVDC system and wind farm on the improvement of system stability are considered.Also,an algorithm based on controllability(observability)concept is proposed to select most appropriate and effective coupling between inputs-outputs(IO)signals of system in different work conditions.The selected coupling is used to apply damping controller signal.Finally,a fractional order PID controller(FO-PID)based on exchange market algorithm(EMA)is designed as damping controller.The analysis of the results shows that the wind farm does not directly contribute to the improvement of the dynamic stability of power system.However,it can increase the controllability of the oscillatory mode and improve the performance of the supplementary controller. 展开更多

A novel LDNMOS embedded silicon controlled rectifier(SCR) was proposed to enhance ESD robustness of high-voltage(HV) LDNMOS based on a 0.5 μm 18 V CDMOS process. A two-dimensional(2D) device simulation and a transmission line pulse(TLP) testing were used to analyze the working mechanism and ESD performance of the novel device. Compared with the traditional GG-LDNMOS, the secondary breakdown current(It2) of the proposed device can successfully increase from 1.146 A to 3.169 A with a total width of 50 μm, and ESD current discharge efficiency is improved from 0.459 m A/μm2 to 1.884 m A/μm2. Moreover, due to their different turn-on resistances(Ron), the device with smaller channel length(L) owns a stronger ESD robustness per unit area. 展开更多

To make full use of the advantages of MR fluid to devices, a model of double ended, shear combined and valve typed MR damper is designed and manufactured, and the dynamic properties under sinusoidal excitations are experimentally studied. The experiment results show that the maximum damping force of the MR damper at the full magnetic intensity reaches about 20 kN while the maximum power required is less than 50 W, which predicts that the MR damper will be a powerful measurement for semi active vibration control of civil infrastructures. 展开更多

This paper presents performance analysis of Unified Power Flow Controller based on two axis theory. Based on this analysis, a new Artificial Neural Network (ANN) based controller has been proposed to improve the system performance. The controller rules are structured depending upon the relationship between series inserted voltage and the desired changes in real/reactive power flow in the power system. The effects of different controllers along with parameters of series transformer and transmission line have been investigated through developed control block model in SIMULINK tool box of MATLAB.
