Methods 120 cases of acute cerebral infarction were randomized into two groups, named treatment group with acupuncture and massage and control group with western medicine. Acupoint selection of treatment group with acupuncture and massage: Yōngquán (涌泉 KI1), Láogōng (劳宫 PC8), Hòuxī (后溪SI3), Gōngsūn (公孙 SP4), Fēngchī (风池 GB20), Jiānyú (肩髃 LI15), Qūchí (曲池 LI11), Hégǔ (合谷 LI4), Huántiào (环跳 GB30), Zúsānlǐ (足三里 ST36), Tàichōng (太冲 LR3), Anterior Oblique Line of Vertex-Temporal and Posterior Oblique Line of Vertex-Temporal. Massage techniques: roll for relax, hold and press, flick and fiddle, and shake. Control group with western medicine was treated with mannitol + low molecular weight dextran + CDP-choline. Results Compared with control group, treatment group could apparently improve the mobility of shoulder joint and lower the injury percentage (P〈0. 01) ; and the therapeutic effect of treatment group is better than that of control group (P〈0. 05) for treating acute cerebral infarction. Conclusion The therapy of acupuncture combined with massage could improve the function of the affected shoulder joint caused by acute cerebral infarction, and enhance therapeutic effect.展开更多

Methods Eighty cases were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 40 cases in each one. In observation group, acupuncture combined with Chinese massage was applied. The main acupoints for acupuncture were Nèixīyǎn (内膝眼 EX-LE 4), Hèdǐng (鹤顶 EX-LE 2), Dúbí (犊鼻 ST 35), etc. In Chinese massage, gun-fa (rolling), rou-fa (kneading), na-fa (grasping), ca-fa (rubbing) and passive movements of joints were applied. In control group, Fenbid was administered orally. The efficacy evaluation, JOA score and the result of isokinetic testing were compared before and after treatment in two groups. Results ① The total effective rate was 90.0% (36/40) in observation group and was 87.5% (35/40) in control group, indicating equivalent efficacy between two groups (P0.05). JOA score after treatment increased remarkably compared with that before treatment in two groups (both P0.01). ② It was indicated in isokinetic test of two groups that peak torque (PT), total work (TW) and average power (AP) after treatment were all improved in comparison with those before treatment (P0.05, P0.01) and the improvement after treatment in observation group was much more remarkable as compared with that in control group (all P0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture and Chinese massage can improve significantly in the symptoms, the muscle strength of the flexors and extensors as well as motor function of the patients with knee osteoarthritis, which is superior to that achieved with Fenbid.展开更多

At present, the treatment methods at home and abroad mainly include surgical therapy and neural stem cell transplantation, acupuncture-moxibustion and tuina are mostly applied after operation, and there is rare report on non-surgical treatment before operation. In this paper, satisfactory effect has been obtained by adopting acupuncture-moxibustion and tuino for treatment of infant hirschsprung in the early stage, which provided a new idea for non-surgical treatment of infant hirschsprung in the early stage.展开更多

Methods: By random single blind control method, 80 cases were divided randomly into Group A (single Tuina group) and Group B (warming needle method plus Tuina group), 40 cases in each group. Results: The effective rate was 95.0% in Group B and 85.0% in Group A, without significant difference (P〉0.05) in comparison between two groups. In assessment of Visual Analogue Scale, there was obvious decrease in both groups before and after the treatments (P〈0.01). In comparison of VAS score differences between the two groups after the treatments, there was remarkable significant difference (P〈0.01). Conclusion: Warming needle moxibustion plus Tuina is better than single Tuina therapy in stopping pain.展开更多

The result showed there was a significant difference in the therapeutic effects between the two groups. The comparison and analysis of the therapeutic effects, the therapeutic times and the influence of therapeutic effects between the two groups indicated that the therapeutic effect of acupuncture plus Tuina was obviously prior to that of injection of drug and reflected acupuncture and Tuina on retention of urine was a better method of treatment.展开更多

Methods: Forty-eight KOA patients were randomized into 2 groups by their visiting sequence, 24 cases in each group. The treatment group was intervened by warm needling moxibustion plus tuina, while the control group was treated with acupuncture plus tuina. The two groups were both treated once a day, 30 min for each session, 10 d as a treatment course, totally for 3 treatment courses. The visual analogue scale (VAS) and Lysholm knee scoring scale (LKSS) were observed before and after the treatment to evaluate the clinical efficacy. Results: After 3 treatment courses, the VAS and LKSS scores were significantly changed in the two groups (P〈0.01), and the between-group differences were also statistically significant (P〈0.01). The markedly-effective rate was 83.3% in the treatment group versus 66.7% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P〈0.05). Conclusion: Warm needling moxibustion plus tuina can produce a more significant efficacy than acupuncture plus tuina in treating KOA due to cold-dampness blocking collaterals.展开更多
