A group of br...In order to realize interoperability to a large number of autonomous and heterogeneous information sources with high efficiency, an agent-based multi-broker architecture (AMA)-HustEven, is constructed. A group of broker agents are designed to provide brokering services in a peer-to-peer (P2P) manner for the non- broker agents (user agents, resource agents, query agents). Thus, the scalability and robustness of the system are enhanced. Ontology is also used by the broker agents for facilitating interoperability among all the agents in HustEven. Unlike any other AMAs, an interdomain ontology is built in this system to represent the relationships among the common concepts in the innerdomain ontologies. Therefore, a broker forwards the queries only to the other related brokers according to the interdomain ontology and the communication overhead among the brokers is reduced. Obviously, the application of the interdomain ontology enables a broker to fully take advantage of the multi-broker architecture. The experimental results show that the HustEven performs more efficiently than any other existing systems.展开更多

The research included a series of six m...The research of the ergonomic parameters of two tested forwarders was based on the measurement of a variability of physiological functions of the operator during one work shift. The research included a series of six measurements, each lasting l h and starting at 5:00, 12:00 and 17:00 O'clock. The measured operator was at all times the same person. We had a hypothesis that the rate of the measured variability would have to do with the following four factors: forwarder cabin type, terrain character, fatigue during the work shift and work at daylight or in dark. Main findings are described below: during his work with a fixed type of the forwarder cab, the operator's brain waves at the frequency of Gamma, high Beta, Beta and Alpha reached statistically significantly higher average values than during his work with a rotating cab. With a higher degree of terrain roughness and in the forwarder with the rotating cab, the operator showed a significantly higher frequency and lower amplitude of respiration. At the beginning of the work shift, the tension of muscles in the operator's neck was at the significantly lowest level. In the afternoon, at the end of the work shift, the level of muscle tension was the highest. The “daylight/dark” work had a significantly highest impact on volume changes in the amplitude (strength) of blood pulse and on the skin conductance level. All research factors explained together 15%-65% of the variability of physiological functions.展开更多

In this study, the impact of the physical properties of torrefied bagasse and the influence of gasifier design and operating variables were investigated in a computer simulated downdraft gasification system. Results obtained from the study indicated an interrelationship between feedstock characteristics, especially with regard to feed size, design variables such as throat angle and throat diameter as well as gasifier operating conditions such as temperature of input air and feed input. These variables influenced the efficiency of the gasification process of sugarcane bagasse because of increased enhancement of combustion zone reactions, which liberated huge amount of heat that led to a rise in the temperature of the gasification process. This condition also created increased tar cracking within the gasification system, contributing to reduction in the overall yield of tar.展开更多

We present a new stochastic learning automaton called a Skinner au- tomaton that is a psychological model for formalizing the theory of operant conditioning. We identify animal operant learning with a thermodynamic process, and derive a so-called Skinner algorithm from Monte Carlo method as well as Metropolis algo- rithm and simulated annealing. Under certain conditions, we prove that the Skinner automaton is expedient, 6-optimal, optimal, and that the operant probabilities converge to the set of stable roots with probability of 1. A sudden change in the top...The introduction of topological invariants, ranging from insulators to metals, has provided new insights into the traditional classification of electronic states in condensed matter physics. A sudden change in the topological invariant at the boundaw of a topological nontrivial system leads to the formation of exotic surface states that are dramatically different from its bulk. In recent years, significant advancements in the exploration of the physical properties of these topological systems and regarding device research related to spintronics and quantum computation have been made. Here, we review the progress of the characterization and manipulation of topological phases from the electron transport perspective and also the intriguing chiral/Majorana states that stem from them. We then discuss the future directions of research into these topological states and their potential applications.展开更多
Pd-only three-way catalyst (TWC), Pd supported on washcoating (the mixture of alumina and Ce-Zr solid solution)/cordierite, was prepared and its catalytic performance and the operation window (2-value) at 450 ℃...Pd-only three-way catalyst (TWC), Pd supported on washcoating (the mixture of alumina and Ce-Zr solid solution)/cordierite, was prepared and its catalytic performance and the operation window (2-value) at 450 ℃ were evaluated with the simulated automotive exhaust feed gas. Surfactants such as Tween-80 and Span-20 were added in the process of preparing the catalyst in order to improve the thermal stability and catalytic performance of Pd-only TWC. The fresh and aged catalysts at 1000 ℃ for 4 h were characterized by low-temperature N2 adsorption, XRD, XPS, and H2-TPR techniques. The results show that the presence of surfactants in the synthesis slurry could influence the physicochemical properties of the final Pd-only TWC. The FTS catalyst prepared with the mixed surfactant of Tween-80 and Span-20 exhibited excellent three-way catalytic performance. After being aged at 1000℃ for 4 h, the catalytic performances of Pd-only TWCs slightly decreased, but the FTS catalyst still demonstrated higher catalytic performance and better thermal stability compared with the Pd-only catalysts prepared with single surfactant or without any surfactant. And the FTS catalyst has a wider 2 value (operation window) than other catalysts, even after being aged at 1000℃.展开更多
