The SFP transceiver which is the core device of optical communication is always the research focus in the field of optical communication for both telecommunication and data communication applications. The working principles of SFP including the transmitter components, the receiver components and the microcontroller are discussed in detail. The basic theory of high-speed signal and the concept of high - speed circuit, high-speed board design techniques are presented. A new design of high performance, cost effective SFP transceiver and PCB layout are also presented. The performance of the transceiver is analyzed and the characteristics of the sample are coincident with the expected ones. The status of the transceiver can be monitored and controlled by F C bus through the interface in real time. This transceiver can meet the requirement of SFF-8472.展开更多

The properties of some passive and active devices such as inductors, capacitors, transmission lines, translbrmers and transistors in mm-wave frequency band are discussed. Self-healing technique dealing with PVT variation, res- onant mode switching technique to enhance frequency tuning range of voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and dual mode technique for power amplifier (PA) efficiency enhancement are introduced. At last, A fully-integrated 60 GHz 5 Gb/s QPSK transceiver with the transmit/receive (T/R) switch in 65nm CMOS process is introduced. The measured error vector magnitude (EVM) of the TX is -21.9 dB while the bit error rate (BER) of the RX with a -52 dBm sine-wave input is below 8e-7 when transmitting/receiving 5 Gb/s data. The transceiver is powered by 1.0 V and 1.2 V supply (except the phase-frequency detector and charge-pump in the frequency synthesizer which are powered by 2.5 V supply) and con- sumes 135 mW in TX mode and 176 mW in RX mode.展开更多

By programming the states of active device embedded in metasurface element, the EM properties of the digital metasurface can be changed quickly without redesigning their structures. However, large numbers of long-distance wires are required to connect the programmable metasurface to provide the coded signals from field programmable gate array (FPGA) when controlling the metasurface at a long distance, which is complicated and inconvenient. Here, we propose an infrared-controlled programmable metasurface that can be programmed remotely. The infrared transceiver is able to switch the coding sequences stored in the FPGA controller, thus controlling the voltage on the varactors integrated in the metasurface. Experiment is performed at microwave frequencies, and the measured results verify that the scattering beams of the metasurface sample can be changed remotely by using infrared ray. The proposed infrared-controlled programmable metasurface opens up avenues for constructing a new class of remotely-tuning dynamic metasurfaces.展开更多
