At the same time I will also demonstrate that the body politics of women teachers in secondary education do not represent the stable and rigid hierarchy of traditional teacher-student relationship but shape the subjectivity which are deployed and suffused as a capillary action by the disciplines and power relations interwoven by gender, sexuality, class and age throughout the individual's cognition and behavior, thus produce self-monitoring in the meantime monitoring others for social function. Finally, I will argue that how the subjectivity under the social structure and cultural norms generates an individual's agency of resistance and subversion to existing gender structures through reflectivity in the cracks produced by the collision, fragmentation, consultation within different discourses, and then finds the temporary strategic and political positioning and identity.展开更多

The dynamics of wages, of conspicuous consumption on the part of rentiers and of investments are taken into consideration, in order to show that economic crises largely depend on the combination of declining wage shares, increasing financial rents and the reduction of investments.展开更多

Green financing is currently on the initial stage in Korea, just like the green growth policy. Thus, banks are contextually not willing to invest or loan in the green technology or industry for profitability, because the high uncertainty (risk) exists and because Korean people have little concern on green financing, though they have recognized the necessity of green growth. Therefore, the reinforcement of government's role is suggested in this research. The public financial agencies are now very important in popularizing the green financing in Korea, and the most effective policy will be the credit guarantee for green technologies or companies provided by public agencies, as shown in the financing policy for the small and middle enterprises. Regarding public efforts, banks should try to perform green financing for both their own profitability and social benefit together with the step-by-step approach, according to the growth stage of green industry and green financing.展开更多

In fact, this is the climax of a very old process in Africa. Religion always participates in politics and vice versa. It is therefore not surprising that religious groups take into account political preoccupations in their communication processes. Sometimes they get involved in political debates, particularly when the questions reveal very important choices for the Nation, as it was the case in 1960s and 1990s. But mostly, they get involved in the social field which is, for them, the key to have one foot in political field. However, beyond these considerations, this paper intends to show how the use of media by religious institutions is closely related to their understanding of the relationship between the religion as an institution, and the society.展开更多

This paper seeks to investigate the philosophical problems at the nexus of moral relativism and liberal universalism that Martha Nussbaum attempted to come to terms with in her essay Human Functioning and Social Justice: In Defense of Aristotelian Essentialism. I argue not against the idea of essentialism but rather for greater care in the concept's application.展开更多

On the basis of comparative analysis, we discuss structural change across these dimensions by targeting our research on major disasters in the decade from SARS in 2003 to the Lushan earthquake in 2013. Overall, consolidation and evolution coexist in China's emergency management structure. At present, structural consolidation has the upper hand, but there are also forces driving structural evolution. Using inductive logic and the comparative method, we arrive at a theoretical generalization about the structural consolidation of China's emergency management, demonstrating its "comet-shaped" structure and "comet-tair' effect. On this basis, we put forward our theoretical propositions. We believe that the underlying reason for the developmental predicament facing emergency management in China today is that it goes ahead on its own, divorced from structure. Its further development must go back to structure and change with the times, with a view to promoting the structural evolution of China's emergency management.展开更多

The essence of sustainable development in an increasingly prosperous and complex China is to avoid crises. Avoiding crises requires both strategic political guidance of the market in order to avoid economic crises, and modernization of politics in order to avoid societal crises. Government must ensure that the economic base is broadened, that citizens are not exposed to excessive risk by market forces, and that inputs and outputs of production do not degrade or exhaust the environment. Meanwhile, the diversification of Chinese society requires political modernization, including comprehensive expansion of the rule of law, transparency, active citizen participation, and democratization within the Party. While these two directions of reform are different, they depend on one another for their success in the long term.展开更多
