Based on the vulnerability conception in the complex network theory the vulnerability of the power system can be evaluated by the minimum load loss rate when considering power supply ability.Consequently according to the synergistic effect theory the critical line of the power system is defined by its influence on failure set vulnerability in N-k contingencies. The cascading failure modes are proposed based on the criterion whether the acceptable load curtailment level is below a preset value.Significant conclusions are revealed by results of IEEE 39 case analysis weak points of power networks and heavy load condition are the main causes of large-scale cascading failures damaging synergistic effects can result in partial failure developed into large-scale cascading failures vulnerable lines of power systems can directly lead the partial failure to deteriorate into a large blackout while less vulnerable lines can cause a large-scale cascading failure.展开更多

The ba- sic content and the five implementation steps were described, and the implementation method and the program of every step were introduced. Some rules for the implementation of the whole process confirmation management in coal mine safety pro- duction were explained, such as during the process of preproduction, before descent, descent, after descent, walking in the roadway, post-operation, shift, and hoisting after work. The results show that the guardians and the executors should both con- firm the implementation, which can improve the workers' attention and self-awareness to avoid errors in detail and reduce the "three violations" phenomenon. To ensure the effect of the whole process confirmation management, relevant departments should designate a person-in-charge in the specific work in all stages, make a work plan, and strengthen the internal evaluation.展开更多

Recently, a statistics pattern analysis (SPA) framework has been incorporated into PCA model to make full use of various statistics of data variables effectively. However, these methods omit the local information, which is also important for process monitoring and fault diagnosis. In this paper, a local and global statistics pattern analysis (LGSPA) method, which integrates SPA framework and locality pre- serving projections within the PCK is proposed to utilize various statistics and preserve both local and global in- formation in the observed data. For the purpose of fault detection, two monitoring indices are constructed based on the LGSPA model. In order to identify fault variables, an improved reconstruction based contribution (IRBC) plot based on LGSPA model is proposed to locate fault variables. The RBC of various statistics of original process variables to the monitoring indices is calculated with the proposed RBC method. Based on the calculated RBC of process variables' statistics, a new contribution of process variables is built to locate fault variables. The simula- tion results on a simple six-variable system and a continuous stirred tank reactor system demonstrate that the proposed fault diagnosis method can effectively detect fault and distinguish the fault variables from normal variables.展开更多

A cascading failure can be described as a three-phase process: generation, diffusion, and dissipation of the congestion. In this account, we present a function that represents the extent of congestion on a given node. This approach is different from existing fimctions based on betweenness centrality. By introducing the concept of 'delay time', we designate an intergradation between permanent removal and nonremoval. We also construct an evaluation fimction of network efficiency, based on congestion, which measures the damage caused by cascading failures. Finally, we investigate the effects of network structure and size, delay time, processing ability and packet generation speed on congestion propagation. Also, we uncover the relationship between the cascade dynamics and some properties of the network such as structure and size.展开更多

The difference between the two methods is that the components of PCA are still dependent while ICA has no orthogonality constraint and its latentvariables are independent. Process monitoring with PCA often supposes that process data or principal components is Gaussian distribution. However, this kind of constraint cannot be satisfied by several practical processes. To ex-tend the use of PCA, a nonparametric method is added to PCA to overcome the difficulty, and kernel density estimation (KDE) is rather a good choice. Though ICA is based on non-Gaussian distribution intormation, .KDE can help in the close monitoring of the data. This paper systematically analyzes 112 large-scale landslides (surface area > 50000 m2), which were identified by interpretation of remote sensing imagery and field investigations. The analysis suggests that the distribution of large-scale landslides is affected by the following four factors: (a) distance effect: 80% of studied large-scale landslides are located within a distance of 5 km from the seismic faults. The farther the distance to the faults, the lower the number of large-scale landslides; (b) locked segment effect: the large-scale landslides are mainly located in five concentration zones closely related with the crossing, staggering and transfer sections between one seismic fault section and the next one, as well as the end of the NE fault section. The zone with the highest concentration was the Hongbai-Chaping segment, where a great number of large-scale landslides including the two largest landslides were located. The second highest concentration of large-scale landslides was observed in the Nanba-Donghekou segment at the end of NE fault, where the Donghekou landslide and the Woqian landslide occurred; (c) Hanging wall effect: about 70% of the large-scale landslides occurred on the hanging wall of the seismic faults; and (d) direction effect: in valleys perpendicular to the seismic faults, the density of large-scale landslides on the slopes facing the seismic wave is obviously higher than that on the slopes dipping in the same direction as the direction of propagation of the seismic wave. Meanwhile, it is found that the sliding and moving directions of large-scale landslides are related to the staggering direction of the faults in each section. In Qingchuan County where the main fault activity was horizontal twisting and staggering, a considerable number of landslides showed the feature of sliding and moving in NE direction which coincides with the staggering direction of the seismic faults.展开更多

Principal component analysis(PCA) is widely applied as a dimension reduction technique for capturing strong correlation underlying in the process measurements. However, it is difficult for PCA based fault detection results to be interpreted physically and to provide support for isolation. Some approaches incorporating process knowledge are developed, but the information is always shortage and deficient in practice. Therefore, this work proposes an adaptive partitioning PCA algorithm entirely based on operation data. The process feature space is partitioned into several sub-feature spaces. Constructed sub-block models can not only reflect the local behavior of process change, namely to grasp the intrinsic local information underlying the process changes, but also improve the fault detection and isolation through the combination of local fault detection results and reduction of smearing effect. The method is demonstrated in TE process, and the results show that the new method is much better in fault detection and isolation compared to conventional PCA method.展开更多

文摘Accurate modelling of the potential failure modes in the rock mass is an essential task towards a robust design of roof support systems in coal mines. The use of generalised rock mass properties based on averaged properties(e.g.Hoek-Brown model) has been found to limit the capability to reproduce the actual rock mass behaviour which may include a wide range of interacting and complex failure mechanisms such as shear and tension fracturing of the intact rock and shear and separation of pre-existing discontinuities, including re-activation.Recent studies have also shown that traditional models, such as the Mohr-Coulomb,may not accurately describe the behaviour of the intact rock, particularly for stress induced failures where spalling and slabbing are observed. This is mainly due to the cohesion and friction components of the shear strength of the intact rock not being mobilised at the same rate with strain-softening of the former component playing an essential role in the post peak behaviour. In addition, coal measure rocks are often transversely isotropic, both by way of the preferred orientation of clay particles within the finer grained lithology and by bedding textures and bedding partings, and this is often ignored in computer simulations.A newly developed transversely isotropic brittle rock mass model is applied in the simulation of a hypothetical and simple roadway development.A Cohesion Weakening-Friction Strengthening(CWFS) approach is adopted to describe the intact rock where the mobilisation and strain-softening of the two shear strength components are linked to plastic deformation. The impacts of anisotropy and brittle rock on the development of the excavation disturbed zone or height of softening,as often referred to,are investigated and their implication in the roof support design discussed.

文摘The 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake in 2008 induced hundreds of large-scale landslides. In Qingchuan County where the main fault activity was horizontal twisting and staggering, a considerable number of landslides showed the feature of sliding and moving in NE direction which coincides with the staggering direction of the seismic faults.

文摘For the discrete-time system which is subjected to uncoupled actuator faults and sensor faults simultaneously,a robust fault diagnosis method based on a proportional integral observer (PIO) is presented. The proposed PIO uses an additionally introduced integral term of the output errors to obtain the estimationof actuator faults. Besides, the sensor faults are regarded as the augment states so that the PIO cantrace them. Moreover, the convergence of the PIO is proved. A variable speed wind turbine(VWT) exampleis given to demonstrate the fast convergence and diagnosis precision of the proposed PIO.

文摘In chemical process, a large number of measured and manipulated variables are highly correlated. The method is demonstrated in TE process, and the results show that the new method is much better in fault detection and isolation compared to conventional PCA method.
文摘The layout features of unit shafting and their effects on vibration, as well as evaluation criteria, were introduced for a 1000-MW ultra-supercritical turbine-generator unit with Simens technology. Based on vibration diagnosis and treatment for more than 10 units, some typical vibration faults were summarized, such as the vibration fluctuation of the high pressure (HP) rotor, abnormal vibration increases of the No.3 bearing pedestal and large vibration of the exciter rotor during its critical speed range. The vibration characteristics and the causes of faults and countermeasures were analyzed. Three applications for further illustration were given. The vibration fault identification method, control measures, and applications can provide a reference for vibration diagnoses and treatment of same type units.
