It is a simple state-space method and can deal with time-varying LSFDJ with sensor noise and sensor faults. The performance of the fault detection observer is optimized in an H ∞ setting, where the ratio between the gains from disturbance and fault to residual respectively is minimized. The design parameters of the detection observer were given in terms of the solution to the Riccati differential equation with jumps.展开更多

First, considering the relationships between the failure subsystems, the decision making trial and evaluation laboratory(DEMATEL) method was used to calculate the degree of correlation between the failure subsystems, analyze the combined effect of related failures, and obtain the degree of correlation by using the directed graph and matrix operations. Then, the interpretative structural modeling(ISM) method was combined to intuitively show the logical relationship of many failure subsystems and their influences on each other by using multilevel hierarchical structure model and obtaining the critical subsystems. Finally, failure mode effects and criticality analysis(FMECA) was used to perform a qualitative hazard analysis of critical subsystems, determine the critical failure mode, and clarify the direction of reliability improvement.Through an example, the result demonstrates that the proposed method can be efficiently applied to system failure analysis problems.展开更多

Simulation of the process of an asynchronized turbogenerator with faults of d or q axis or d and q axes in the excitation system was carried out with the simulating models including the model of the reverse thyristors in the excitation system established by Saber software. The simulation results show that at the loss of excitation at both windings or one winding of the rotor, the ASTGs can be automatically driven into an asynchronous or single axis excitation operation mode without a power unit tripping, and the characteristics for ASTGs with faults in the excitation system appear in good order.展开更多

Based on the cumulative failure probability equality principle, this paper considers the relationship between the load and the battery life distribution, and constructs a reliability model for the parallel subsystem of the battery pack when a single battery fails, and then compares the lifetime and reliability as a function of load and cell design. The result proves that the k-out-of-n system approaches closed to the parallel subsystem of the power battery pack.展开更多

The numbers of system failures, repair cost, guarantee, etc. are estimated by reliability estimation. In this paper reliability of a switching power supply, which is used for personal computers, is evaluated. It will show that the most of failure rates depends on power circuit because of more stresses and dissipations. Derating effect of devices on the failure rate is discussed. A prototype power supply's waveforms are used for stress detection and calculation of dissipations.展开更多

A comprehensive reconfiguration model is presented in this paper, in which the restored loads, switch frequency and generator efficiency are taken into account. In this model, analytic hierarchy process(AHP) is proposed to determine the coefficients of these objective functions. Meanwhile, a quantum differential evolution algorithm with triple quantum bit code is proposed. This algorithm aiming at the characteristics of shipboard power system is different from the normal quantum bit representation. The individual polymorphic expression is realized, and the convergence performance can be further enhanced in combination with the global parallel search capacity of differential evolution algorithm and the superposition properties of quantum theory. The local optimum can be avoided by dynamic rotation gate. The validity of algorithm and model is verified by the simulation examples.展开更多

Therefore, maintenance on condition is used. State-of-the-art is a trend analysis and a fault prediction made only based on sensor signals and stochastic methods. The identification possibilities of this technique are limited. A new concept for model-based monitoring has been developed for more detailed fault identification. The developed concept determines the condition of a machine after the occurrence of a fault. The concept is based on a simulation including various faults and an optimization tool. The development of a cost function and the optimization is one of the challenges of such a concept. Using an AMB rotor system with an auxiliary bearing, the new concept of model-based monitoring is investigated using experiments and the optimization is discussed in this paper.展开更多
