Physical （Bodily） Contact Among Parents and Children in the Context of Family Upbringing. Religious Education Approach--Case Study

Physical （bodily） contact among children and parents every day varies and its effect relates to the all-round personality development of the child. The purpose of this study is to present the attitudes and opinions of sixth-grade elementary students with regard to how parents interact with them physically as well as how the children would like the corresponding interaction with their parents to develop. The methodology was based on a case study. Data collection was conducted via a questionnaire with closed questions, which was distributed in person to sixth-grade students at two primary schools in the prefecture of Thessaloniki. Some results of the study indicate that more often children positively receive the ways in which their parents interact with them physically and desire physical contact with their parents even at this age. The involvement of parents and children in the sacramental life of the church seems to have a positive effect on physical contact among them. Gradually, however, children distance themselves from their parents as they enter puberty and seek physical contact with their parents selectively and only on special occasions such as their birthdays.

The more love, the more hurt： Analysis of parents and children＇s relationship in Sons and lovers

The novel Sons and lovers, written by D. H. Lawrence, describes the state that the relationship between husband and wife loses balance. That is to say, power of the wife in the family is so strong that the wife, Mrs. Morel controls the whole family but not Mr. Morel. It also informs readers the process of how she comes to change her pure maternity to the passion between man and woman after she can＇t reform her husband and can＇t find the ideal lover image in her husband. This thesis tries to analyze the formation of imbalanced relationship between husband and wife, its expression, its influence on the children and significance on family education. Meanwhile, it also warns us of the importance of family atmosphere and family education to the healthy growth of children.

On Autonomous Learning Strategy in Chinese Homeschooling With a Comparison to American Homeschooling

In applied linguistics, autonomous learning is a good way to help students accomplish innovative study. If it is properly used, the teaching effects can be strengthened to a large extent. China has a long history in home education. However, the whole world develops in a very fast pace and it is time to take a look at the world＇s homeschooling trend. This paper analyses Chinese home education and American home education, takes in good points of American home education, provides some suggestions and tries to apply autonomous learning strategy to Chinese home education in a better way

Social class differences in parent educational expectations:The relationship between parents’social status and their expectations for children’s education

To achieve the overall goals and purposes of education is closely related to the living environments of students.Different family backgrounds will put children into a situation where they face unfair competition.According to a survey conducted in China’s Urumqi and Changchun about parents’awareness of educating their children,this paper will suggest that families with different backgrounds have different expectations for their children’s education.Moreover,it suggests that parents’social status is related to their children’s education expectations.Therefore,we can find that parents’social status influences their children’s education,and their positions in social class are related to education.

SPECIAL ISSUE： MIGRANT WORKERS IN THE COURSE OF URBANIZATION The upbringing and education of migrant workers＇ children in the Pearl River Delta

In the course of the large-scale migration to the cities of China＇s rural labor force over the past twenty years, most migrant workers have left their children behind in their hometown, though some children do follow their parents to the city. The issue of the upbringing and education of these children, whether ＂left behind＂ or ＂migrating,＂ has always been a major concern of society and the academic world. This article aims to understand the factors affecting whether these children ＂stay behind＂ in their hometown or ＂flow＂ to the city through analysis of the child-rearing and education patterns reflected in survey information on over 3,000 migrant workers in the Pearl River Delta in 2006. We find that, after controlling for individual and family factors, regional differences in migrant workers＇ origins remains an important factor influencing whether children ＂stay behind＂ or ＂migrate.＂ The causes and mechanisms behind the existence of ＂regional barriers＂ is an issue worth further exploration.
