This research ex...Sharing the environment of English as a foreign language （EFL） in South Korea and China, English text in the authorized English textbooks deserves a cross-country comparison in the same grade level. This research explored the English texts linguistic characteristics in the authorized English textbooks through Coh-Melrix 3.0 and intended to provide implications to EFL English textbook design in the future. The results suggest that there is a need to be aware of the weaknesses and strengths from each other： the South Korean English texts display a diversity in noun, verbs, adjectives, the mean number of words before the main verb of the main clause in sentence, TTR and lexical diversity; the Chinese English texts reveal an overlap in lexical level （content words, noun, and sentences） and semantic level （syntactic patterns）.展开更多

A mathematical model is developed based on a simplified mechanism of anaerobic digestion. The main objective is to quantitatively analyze the digestion process to optimize operating conditions and maintenance of this ...A mathematical model is developed based on a simplified mechanism of anaerobic digestion. The main objective is to quantitatively analyze the digestion process to optimize operating conditions and maintenance of this equipment, which could be used to test different materials and be able to apply these results to the possible scaling to bio-digesters installed in the field. The experiments were carried out in a hybrid system bio-digester photovoltaic cells. The bio-digester is made of stainless steel with dimensions to treat an average of 10 kg of raw material and produce biogas from different organic materials. The reactor has been conditioned with temperature sensors, pressure and methane gas that allow monitoring the concentration of the gas and the conditions of operation during the time of digestion. The system has a photovoltaic array to provide the energy required to keep the temperature constant, The experiment was conducted using materials such as goat manure mixed with household waste, and various formulations of these materials were prepared. The experimental results were used to test the mathematical model.展开更多

The me...This article presents the outcome of the Swedish pilot study CESEM （named after the initials of the girls＇ first names） where pre-teen girls produced their own news program and showed it to their classmates. The methodological approach was the action research model where the process of producing news was followed from selecting news to reflecting on their learning outcomes. The knowledge from the pilot study is useful in designing active projects within the scope of media literacy. One of the learning outcomes for the girls in this study was the awareness of how news programs in TV are staged. A positive response was the initiative from one of the participating schools to start their own news project in one of the classes. A possible outcome in longer run projects is better knowledge for developing pedagogical tools in media education.展开更多
