We propose and analyze a novel Si-based electro-optic modulator with an improved metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) capacitor configuration integrated into silicon-on-insulator (SOl). Three gate-oxide layers embedded in the silicon waveguide constitute a triple MOS capacitor structure, which boosts the modulation efficiency compared with a single MOS capacitor. The simulation results demonstrate that the Vπ Lπ product is 2. 4V · cm. The rise time and fall time of the proposed device are calculated to be 80 and 40ps from the transient response curve, respectively,indicating a bandwidth of 8GHz. The phase shift efficiency and bandwidth can be enhanced by rib width scaling. 展开更多

Primary Comments on Chemotaxonomy of Paris spp. Based on Saponins Analysis 被引量:6

Aim The several species of the genus Paris called "Chonglou" are famous traditional Chinese herbal medicines. We established the quantitative analysis method of the steroidal saponins in some species of the genus Paris and discussed their relations. Methods We detected the contents of 11 steroidal saponins in Paris samples with a Kromasel C18 ( 150 mm× 4.6 mm ID, 5μm) column which was subjected to gradient elution with acetonitrile-water (30:70- 60:40, V/V) at a flow rate of 1 mL· min^-1 by HPLC-ELSD and established chemical cluster tree using SPSS 11 software. Results All the samples could be separated and calibration curves of 11 saponins were prepared. We successfully detected the contents of 11 steroidal saponins in 14 Paris spp. in 30 min. The recovery for the assay of saponins was between 95 % and 97 %. The RSD of precision of 11 saponins and stability of samples were below 3 %. Chemical phylogenetic tree based on saponin contents indicated that 17 samples of Paris spp. clustered separately. Conclusion The established method is accurate and convenient, and suitable for the quantitative analysis of these 11 steroidal saponins in Paris spp.. The chemical phylogenetic tree is in accordance with Takhtajian classical taxonomy. 展开更多

Based on previous laser-induced fluorescence excitation spectroscopy work, the vibrational constants of neutral FeS in the X5 △ electronic state were obtained by directly mapping the ground-state vibrational levels up to v"=3 using conventional laser-induced dispersed fluorescence spectroscopy. The vibrational frequency of FeS(X5 △) (518±5 cm-1) agrees well with that reported in a recent PES measurement (520±30 cm-1) [J. Phys. Chem. A 107, 2821 (2003)] which is the only one prior experimental vibrational frequency value for the 5 △ state of FeS. Careful comparisons of our experimental results and those documented in the literature (mainly from theoretical predictions) suggest that the ground state of FeS is 5 △ state. 展开更多

[Objective] This study aimed to establish a method for determining the content of Astragaloside IV in Yupingfeng oral solution.[Method] The HPLC-ELSD method was adopted.The chromatographic column was Venusil MP(4.6 mm × 150 mm,5 μm).The mobile phase was acetonitrile-water(35∶65).The ELSD evaporator tube temperature was 65 ℃.N2 was used as the carrier gas(pressure,30 psi).[Result] When the content of Astragaloside IV ranged from 0.5 to 5.0 μg,the Astragaloside IV content showed a good linear relationship with peak area(r=0.999,n=6).The average recovery was 96.36%,and the RSD was 2.46%.[Conclusion] This method is accurate and reliable,and can be applied in the quality control of Yupingfeng oral solution. 展开更多

The dispersion properties in the short wavelength region of total internal reflective photonic crystal fiber(TIRPCF) in Compton scattering have been studied by using the model of the equivalent twin waveguide soliton coupling, dispersion management solitons and effective refractive index. It is shown that the positive dispersion of the cladding waveguide of TIRPCF and the negative dispersion of its core waveguide are quickly increased by the square of the collision non-elastic composition between the electron and photons, and they are lessened by the increase of the electron absorption photon number. Under the one-photon nonlinear Compton scattering, the method of the compensated probing laser diffraction by the phase hole induced by the stationary pumping laser in the cladding waveguide enables the average dispersion value of TIRPCF to be close to zero, and the zero dispersion point quickly shifts to the short wavelength region. 展开更多

The laser-induced fluorescence excitation spectra of jet-cooled NiB radicals have been recorded in the energy range of 19000-22100 cm-1. Eleven bands have been assigned to the [20.77]2П-X2∑+ transition system for the first time. The dispersed fluorescence spectra related to most of these bands have been investigated. Vibrationally excited levels of the ground electronic state, with v" up to 6, have been observed. In addition, the lifetimes for almost all the observed bands have also been measured. 展开更多

This paper describes the research on the materials and design methods for advanced smart radiator devices (SRDs) on large-area flexible substrates utilized on spacecraft. The functional material is thermochromic vanadium dioxide. The coating design of SRD is similar to the design of broadband filter coatings in a mid-infrared region. The multilayer coatings have complex structures. Coating materials must be highly transparent in a required spectrum region and also mechanically robust enough to endure the influence from the rigorous environments of outer space. The number of layers must be very small, suitable for the deposition on large-area flexible substrates. All the coatings are designed initially based on optical calculation and practical experience, and then optimized by the TFCALC software. Several designs are described and compared with each other. The results show that the emittance variability of the designed SRDs is great than 400%, more advanced than the reported ones. 展开更多

The cross-phase modulation effect can enhance the supercontinuum spectrum generation. A dispersion-flattened photonic crystal fiber with normal dispersion is designed for generating flat wideband supercontanuum, and the supercontinuum generation in this fiber is numerically analyzed. The results show that by appropriately designing the photonic crystal fiber, it can achieve flattened dispersion in the normal dispersion region. It is found that a fiber characterized by a flattened dispersion with a small normal dispersion is suitable for a flat wideband supercontinuum generation. In the process of spectral broadening, self-phase modulation effect plays a dominant role. By filtering the supercontinuum, pulses with different central wavelength over a wide spectral range can be obtained. The pulse width is determined by the bandwidth of the filter. 展开更多

The first-order-like phase transition (FOLT) in the dispersive optical bistability is investigated when the fluctuation in the incident light field is considered as colored noise. A unified colored-noise approximation is applied to obtain the steady state distribution (SSD) when either the intensity or phase fluctuations of the incident field are included in the system. For intensity fluctuations only, the curve of SSD is changed from single extreme to two extremes, and then to three extremes. The colored nature of the noise can reduce the fluctuation in the system. However, for phase fluctuations only, the FOLT is mainly induced by the colored nature of the noise. The curve of SSD is changed from single extreme to three extremes directly. Using a fast and simple matrix method to model propagation in the DDBF,we have presented a general criterion to obtain the shortest length of the DDBF that would result in a broad SO spectrum. The proposed DDBF design should be amenable for reproducible fabrication through the well-developed MCVD fiber manufacturing technology and the concept has potential for realization as a practical device. 展开更多

Taking the density-dependent near dipole-dipole (NDD) interaction into consideration, we theoretically investigate the response of nonlinear absorption and dispersion in optically dense media of three-level atoms driven by a single-mode probe laser. The influence of the NDD effects on the absorption and dispersion spectra of the probe field is predicted via numerical calculations. It is shown that the NDD effects reduce gradually to transient absorption and amplification with the increase of the strengths of the NDD interaction, but do not change the steady-state behavior. Due to the presence of the NDD effects, steady-state absorption spectra exhibit asymmetric double-peak structure and overall shifts when a continuous-wave (cw) probe field is applied. However, frequency dispersion spectra are insensitive to them near the zero detuning. 展开更多

An excellent agreement is obtained withthe theoretical predictions based on the nonlinear Schrddinger equation. We utilize the anomalous dispersion of planar photonic crystals near the dielectric band edge to control the wavelength-dependent propagation of light. We typically observe an angular swing of up to 10°as the input wavelength is changed from 1290 nm to 1310 rim, which signifies an angular dispersion of 0.5°/am ("Superprism" phenomenon). Such a strong angular dispersion is of the order required for WDM systems. By tuning the incident angle, light beams with up to 20° divergence were collimated over a 25 nm (1285 nm to 1310 nm) bandwidth using a triangular lattice ("Supercollimator" phenomenon). The wavelength collimating range can be extended from 25 nm to 40 nm by changing the lattice from triangular to square. These two devices can be realized in the same configuration, simply by tuning the wavelength. Sources of loss are discussed. 展开更多

Quadrant photodetector is a new type position detector, which has already been applied to many fields such as measurement, target tracking, control, laser collimation, guidance, etc. System performance is related to laser spot area received by the quadrant photodetector. The optimum linear output signal of system is gotten only when the size of laser dispersion spot is well-proportioned to the detector photosensitive area. A method to measure the mini-spot received by detector and to adjust it in real time is presented, which is based on the quadrant geometrical and optical structure, making use of tilting mirror scanning, the sequence output signal of detector is gotten, then measurement model is built with rate of signal change as characteristic variable, the radius of the laser dispersion spot and adjustable value of dispersion are calculated. The experiment result shows that the maximum error is 0.58μm in measurement range of 0.5mm±0.1mm. 展开更多
