In gas injection refining processes,wide dispersion of small bubbles in the bath is indispensable for high refining efficiency.Eccentric mechanical stirring with unidirectional impeller rotation was tested using a water model for pursuing better bubble disintegration and dispersion.Effects of various factors on bubble disintegration and dispersion were investigated.These factors were stirring mode,eccentricity and rotation speed,nozzle structure,nozzle immersion depth,and gas flow rate.Gas injection from a nozzle at the end of the impeller shaft and from an immersed lance was studied.Under eccentric stirring,a vortex was formed away from the shaft.Small bubbles were produced in the strong turbulence or high shear stress field near the rotating impeller and moved in the direction to the vortex keeping up with the macroscopic flow induced by the mechanical stirring.Thus small bubbles could disperse widely in the bath under eccentric stirring with unidirectional rotation. 展开更多

Al/Co co-doped α-Ni(OH)2 samples were prepared by either ultrasonic co-precipitation method (Sample B) or co-precipitation method (Sample A). Al/Co co-doped α-Ni(OH)2 samples were prepared by either ultrasonic co-precipitation method (Sample B) or co-precipitation method (Sample A). The crystal structure and particle size distribution of the prepared samples were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and laser particle size analyzer, respectively. The results show that Sample B has more crystalline defects and smaller average diameter than Sample A. The cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements indicate that Sample B has better electrochemical performance than Sample A, such as better reaction reversibility, lower charge-transfer resistance and better cyclic stability. Proton diffusion coefficient of Sample B is 1.96×10-10cm2/s, which is two times as large as that (9.78×10-11cm2/s) of Sample A. The charge-discharge tests show that the discharge capacity (308 mA·h/g) of Sample B is 25 mA·h/g higher than that of Sample A (283 mA·h/g). 展开更多

An innovative physical simulation apparatus, including high speed camera, red thermal imaging system, and mechanical quantity sensor, was used to investigate the friction heat generation and atom diffusion behavior during Mg-Ti friction welding process. The results show that the friction coefficient mainly experiences two steady stages. The first steady stage corresponds to the Coulomb friction with material abrasion. The second steady stage corresponds to the stick friction with fully plastic flow. Moreover, the increasing rates of axial displacement, temperature and friction coefficient are obviously enhanced with the increase of rotation speed and axial pressure. It can also be found that the there exists rapid diffusion phenomenon in the Mg-Ti friction welding system. The large deformation activated diffusion coefficient is about 105 higher than that activated by thermal. 展开更多

[Method] The nano sun shading films were prepared by intercalation method. The films were characterized by XRD, TG, FA, UV-Vis-NIR and outdoor temperature test. [Result] Based on evaluation of cooling efficiency, a reduction 3-4 ℃ can be observed in newly developed nano sun shading films compared to control film. This film can control greenhouse light intensity effectively and decrease indoor tempera- ture, providing crops with appropriate growing temperature by reflecting most of in- frared light. Moreover, part of incident light can be converted to blue light and red light, which is beneficial to photosynthesis in plant. [Conclusion] Agricultural film is an important component to agriculture industry. Thus, agricultural film with improved properties and low cost has a broad application prospect. 展开更多

The coil-to-globule transition of thermally sensitive linear poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) labeled with dansyl group is induced by 1.54 μm laser pulses (widths10 ns). The dansyl group is used to follow the transition kinetics because its fluorescence intensity is very sensitive to its micro-environment. As the molar ratio of NIPAM monomer to dansyl group increases from 110 to 300, the effect of covalently attached dansyl fluorophores on the transition decreases. In agreement with our previous study in which we used 8-anilino- l-naphthalensulfonic acid ammonium salt free in water as a fluorescent probe, the current study reveals that the transition has two distinct stages with two characteristic times, namely, Tfast≈0.1 ms, which can be attributed to the nucleation and formation of some "pearls" (locally contracting segments) on the chain, and tslow≈0.5 ms, which is related to the merging and coarsening of the "pearls".Tfast is independent of the PNIPAM chain length over a wide range (Mw=2.8× 10^6-4.2 × 10^7 g/mol). On the other hand, Tslow only slightly increases with the chain length. 展开更多

We found that although the intrinsic decoherence leads to an irreversible evolution of the interacting system due to a suppression of coherent quantum features through the decay of off-diagonal matrix elements of the density operator, and has an apparently influence on the partial entropies of the two-component subsystems, it dose not destroy entropy exchange behavior. In addition, the lower bound of the concurrence, as the measure of entanglement of the coupling system, is calculated. It is shown that the evolution of entanglement is sensitive to the change of the intrinsic decoherence. 展开更多

Both the global demethylation andthe local hypermethylation have been widely reported in all types of tumors, providing both challenges and opportunitiesfor a better understanding and eventually controlling of the malignance. However, we are still in the very early stage ofinformation accumulation concerning the tumor associated changes in DNA methylation pattern. A number of excellentrecent reviews have covered this issue in depth. Therefore, this review will summarize our recent data on DNA methy-lation profiling in cancers. Active fault creep slip induces deformation of rock mass buried deeply in fault zones that significantly affect the operational safety of long linear projects passing through it.Displacement distribution patterns of rock masses in active fault zones which have been investigated previously are the key design basis for such projects.Therefore,a discrete element numerical model with different fault types,slip time,dip angles,and complex geological features was established,and then the creep slip for normal,reverse,and strike-slip faults were simulated to analyze the displacement distribution in the fault rock mass.A disk rotation test system and the corresponding laboratory test method were developed for simulating rock mass displacement induced by creep slippage of faults.A series of rotation tests for softand hard-layered specimens under combined compression and torsional stress were conducted to verify the numerical results and analyze the factors influencing the displacement distribution.An S-shaped displacement distribution independent of fault dip angle was identified corresponding to reverse,normal,and strike-slip faults.The results indicated that the higher the degree of horizontal extrusion,the softer the rock mass at the fault core,and the higher the degree of displacement concentration in the fault core;about 70%of the creep slip displacement occurs within this zone under 100 years of creep slippage. 展开更多

In many circumstances,dissimilar metals have to be bonded together and the resulting joint interfaces must typically sustain mechanical and/or electrical forces without failure,which is not possible by fusion welding processes.The melting points of magnesium(Mg)and copper(Cu)have a significant difference(nearly 400℃)and this may lead to a large difference in the microstructure and joint performance of Mg-Cu joints.However,diffusion bonding can be used to join these alloys without much difficulty.This work analyses the effect of parameters on diffusion layer thickness,hardness and strength of magnesium-copper dissimilar joints.The experiments were conducted using three-factor,five-level,central composite rotatable design matrix.Empirical relationships were developed to predict diffusion layer thickness,hardness and strength using response surface methodology.It is found that bonding temperature has predominant effect on bond characteristics.Joints fabricated at a bonding temperature of 450℃, bonding pressure of 12 MPa and bonding time of 30 min exhibited maximum shear strength and bonding strength of 66 and 81 MPa, respectively. 展开更多

In order to investigate the contribution of charge transfer (CT) enhancement, the wavelengths of incident light are chosen to be at resonance with four representative excited states, which correspond to CT in four different forms. During mid-January 2011,a rarely seen twin-extratropical-cyclone event appeared over the western North Pacific Ocean.One of the twin cyclones developed into an extreme explosive extratropical cyclone(EEC),which was comparable to the intensity of a typhoon.Rotational and divergent wind kinetic energy(KE)analyses were applied to understand the low-level wind’s rapid enhancement associated with the cyclone.It was found that:(i)the total wind KE associated with the EEC showed a remarkable enhancement in the lower troposphere during the cyclone’s maximum development stage,with the maximum/minimum wind acceleration appearing in the southeastern/northwestern quadrant of the EEC;(ii)the rotational wind KE experienced an obvious increase,which corresponded to the total wind KE enhancement,whereas the divergent wind KE,which was much smaller than the rotational wind,mainly featured a decreasing trend;(iii)the rotational wind KE enhancement showed variational features consistent with the horizontal enlargement and upward stretching of the EEC;(iv)the nonorthogonal wind KE enhanced the total wind KE in regions with strong rotational wind,which resulted in the maximum lower-tropospheric maximum wind,whereas in regions with strong divergent wind it mainly reduced the total wind KE;(v)the northward transport of total wind KE and the rotational wind KE production due to the work done by pressure gradient force were dominant factors for the enhancement of winds associated with the EEC,particularly in its southeastern section.In contrast,an overall conversion from rotational wind KE to divergent wind KE decelerated the rotational wind enhancement. 展开更多
