Analysis of groundwater recoverable resource by numerical method in Linfen Basin of Shanxi,North China 被引量:1

The three-dimensional groundwater flow model in Linfen Basin was established by GMS software. Then the numerical model was calibrated by observed groundwater level from February to December in 2 000. Based on the calibrated model, the groundwater recoverable resource is calculated. The simulation result shows that under the given value of the groundwater recoverable resource, the groundwater level would decrease significantly in the first 1 000 days, while the water level would drop slowly in 1 000 to 2 000 days, and the water level change tend to be stable after 2000 days. 展开更多

Glaciers in the Himalaya are often heavily covered with supraglacial debris,making them difficult to study with remotely-sensed imagery alone.Various methods such as band ratios can be used effectively to map clean-ice glaciers;however,a thicker layer of debris often makes it impossible to distinguish between supraglacial debris and the surrounding terrain.Previously,a morphometric mapping approach employing an ASTER-derived digital elevation model has been used to map glaciers in the Khumbu Himal and the Tien Shan.This study on glaciers in the Greater Himalaya Range in Zanskar,southern Ladakh,aims (i) to use the morphometric approach to map large debris-covered glaciers;and (ii) to use Landsat and ASTER data and GPS and field measurements to document glacier change over the past four decades.Field work was carried out in the summers of 2008.For clean ice,band ratios from the ASTER dataset were used to distinguish glacial features.For debris-covered glaciers,topographic features such as slope were combined with thermal imagery and supervised classifiers to map glacial margins.The method is promising for large glaciers,although problems occurred in the distal and lateral parts and in the fore field of the glaciers.A multi-temporal analysis of glaciers in Zanskar showed that in general they have receded since at least the mid-to late-1970s.However,some few glaciers that advanced or oscillated - probably because of specific local environmental conditions - do exist. 展开更多

This study explores the tradeoff relationship between the number of initial attack firefighting resources and the level of fire ignition prevention efforts mitigating the probability of human-made fires in the Republic of Korea,where most fires are caused by human activities.To examine this tradeoff relationship,we develop a hybrid model that combines a robust optimization model with a stochastic simulation model.The robust optimization minimizes the expected number of fires not receiving a pre-defined response,such as the number of firefighting resources that must arrive at the fire within half an hour,subject to budget constraints and uncertainty about the daily number and location of fires.The simulation model produces a set of fire scenarios in which a combination of number,location,ignition time,and intensity of fires occur.Results show that fire ignition prevention is as cost-effective as initial attack firefighting resources given the current budget in the Republic of Korea for reducing the expected number of fires not covered by the predefined response.The mixed policy of fire suppression and fire prevention may produce some gains in efficiency relative to the dominant policy of strong fire suppression strategies. 展开更多

The paper presents the results of analyses of Estonian Banking, made by the authors during the last seven years. Earlier results have been published in a number of collections of research articles and have been reported on international conferences worldwide (in Mexico, South Africa, Egypt, Poland, Check Republic, Chile, China, and USA, etc.). From econometric models, the Cobb-Douglas production function with income-earning assets, equity, liabilities and fixed assets as inputs was selected. The time period chosen is from the first quarter of 1995 to the fourth quarter of 2008 that is a total of 56 periods. At present, the Portuguese education system promotes the development of new literacies in all education levels in response to new requirements of the digital world which imply changes in children's education. In fact, reading and writing are no longer limited exclusively to books, rather they are associated with diversified digital media integrating text, sound, image, and video. In this context, we developed an exploratory study in a kindergarten with the children and their family members. Data were collected through participant observation, children conversational interviews, and digital narratives produced by children. Data analysis is based on content analysis with NVivo software support. The emergence of literacy is evident in verbal interactions in peer-group work, in contact with the written text, in "writing" in various media, and in sharing knowledge, discoveries, and digital narratives produced in an online community (http://janelajardim.ning.com). This paper presents: (1) a systematic literature review in the field of digital narrative and emergent literacy; (2) the description of children's activities concerning interactive multimodal narrative; (3) the results of this work; and (4) the conclusion about contribution of multimodal narratives to the emergence of reading, writing, and digital skills 展开更多

The emergence of a large quantity of digital resources in geometry, various geometric automated theorem proving systems, and kinds of dynamic geometry software systems has made geometric computation, reasoning, drawing, and knowledge management dynamic, automatic or interactive on computer. Integration of electronic contents and different systems is desired to enhance their accessibility and exploitability. This paper proposes an equivalent transformation framework for manipulating geometric statements available in the literature by using geometry software systems. Such a framework works based on a newly designed geometry description language(GDL), in which geometric statements can be represented naturally and easily. The author discusses and presents key procedures of automatically transforming GDL statements into target system-native representations for manipulation.The author also demonstrates the framework by illustrating equivalent transformation processes and interfaces for compiling the transformation results into executable formats that can be interpreted by the target geometry software systems for automated theorem proving and dynamic diagram drawing. 展开更多

A numerical analysis of the thermohydraulics of an enhanced geothermal system project is presented. The rock structures are modelled as porous medium, based on the computationally obtained hydraulic fracturing data of other authors. The influence of the domain size, grid resolution, temporal resolution and the discretization scheme is assessed to obtain a highly accurate numerical solution under the prevailing modelling assumptions. Based on the numerical model, different production scenarios are investigated and discussed. The relative positioning of the injection and production ports is also analyzed. It is shown that there is a considerable potential for optimizing the production rate and the port configuration to obtain the most favorable results for the production temperature, investment costs and operation costs. 展开更多
