METHODS: We used the MEDLINE database to investigate studies between 1996 and 2010 with greater than 10 patients that examined these techniques. Using a combination of Boolean operators, reports were retrieved addressing percutaneous therapy (341 studies), endoscopic necrosectomy (574 studies), laparoscopic necrosectomy via a transperitoneal approach (148 studies), and retroperitoneal necrosectomy (194 studies). Only cohorts with at least 10 or more patients were included. Non-English papers, letters, animal studies, duplicate series and reviews without original data were excluded, leaving a total of 27 studies for analysis. RESULTS: Twenty-seven studies with 947 patients total were examined (eight studies on percutaneous approach; ten studies on endoscopic necrosectomy; two studies on laparoscopic necrosectomy via a transperitoneal approach; five studies on retroperitoneal necrosectomy; and two studies on a combined percutaneous-retroperitoneal approach). Success rate, complications, mortality, and number of procedures were outcomes that were included in the review. We found that most published reports were retrospective in nature, and thus, susceptible to selection and publication bias. Few reports examined these techniques in a comparative, prospective manner. CONCLUSION: Each minimally invasive approach though was found to be safe and feasible in multiple reports. With these new techniques, treatment of infected pancreatic necrosis remains a challenge. We advocate a multidisciplinary approach to this complex problem with treatment individualized to each patient.展开更多

Both the experimental result and simulation show that this method is simple, rapid and of sufficient precision.展开更多

Computerized device for detecting NLCI is based on commercially available Gas Discharge Camera (www.ktispb.ru) and allows following time dynamics of several sensors in NLCI conditions. The typical sensors are: water, air, earth, and wood, this instrument was named "The 5th Element". Readings are taken continuously by special software every five or ten seconds in automatic mode. Sensitivity of the device was tested by detecting the influence of total sun eclipse in Siberia in 2008 and by detecting sunrise and sunset. Several experimental modalities have been developed: (1) directed NLCI of a person; (2) directed NLCI of a group of people; and (3) non-directed NLCI of a group of people. Experiments during many years demonstrated efficiency of the developed approach.展开更多

However, due to the fact that its synchronization error accumulates rapidly over hop count, its applications are greatly restricted. In this paper, the factors that cause the accumulation of synchronization error over hop count are investigated. Theoretical analysis shows that two factors including the clock drift and the asymmetry of two-way packet exchange, have distinct influences on synchronization error between two adjacent nodes. Further, the clock frequency order along synchronization path is found to be vital to the accumulation of synchronization error. The above three factors jointly determine the accumulation of synchronization error over hop count in wireless network. Theoretic results are also verified by three fine-grained experiments on wireless sensor network testbed. The conclusions can be used to decrease synchronization error for large-scale wireless network by careful network deployment.展开更多

The specific length of the sensor fiber wound tightly around the outer wall of the pipe was connected with the optical fiber gratings at both ends, and the sensor fiber and the optical fiber gratings composed the flow sensing unit. The dynamic pressure was generated by the turbulence when fluid flows through the pipe, and the dynamic pressure resulted in the light phase shift of the sensor fiber. The phase information was demodulated by the fiber optic interferometer technology, time division multiplexing technology, and phase generated carrier modulation and demodulation techniques. The quadratic curve relationship between the phase change and flow rate was found by experimental data analysis, and the experiment confirmed the feasibility of the optical fiber flow test method with non-intrusion and achieved the real-time monitoring of the fluid flow.展开更多

Firstly, mesh sensitivity analysis and grid-independent analysis are carried out for the computer code validation. Then, the numerical method is further validated by comparing the calculated results and experimental data. Thirdly, the effects of head-end cavity on the pressure oscillation am-plitudes are studied in this paper. The results indicate that cavity volume, location and configuration have a cooperative ef- fect on the oscillation amplitude. It is proved that Rayleigh criterion can be used as a guiding principle for the design of reso- nance damping cavity. The change of the head-end cavity breaks the balance between the mass flux and acoustic energy. Therefore, the pressure oscillation characteristics change accordingly. It is concluded that a large mass flux added at the pres- sure antinode could attribute to significant amplitude. Meanwhile, the damping effect of the cavity is stronger when the dis- tance between cavity and pressure antinode becomes shorter. Finally, this method is applied to the modification of an engi- neering solid rocket motor. The static test of solid rocket motor reflects that the oscillations can be effectively suppressed by a head-end cavity.展开更多
