A case study is presented to show the results of acquiring and processing OBS data for detecting gas hydrates. Key processing steps such as repositioning, reorientation, PZ summation, and mirror imaging are discussed. Repositioning and reorientation find the correct location and direction of nodes. PZ summation matches P- and Z-components and sums them to separate upgoing and downgoing waves. Upgoing waves are used in conventional imaging, whereas downgoing waves are used in mirror imaging. Mirror imaging uses the energy of the receiver ghost reflection to improve the illumination of shallow structures, where gas hydrates and the associated bottom-simulating reflections (BSRs) are located. We developed a new method of velocity analysis using mirror imaging. The proposed method is based on velocity scanning and iterative prestack time migration. The final imaging results are promising. When combined with the derived velocity field, we can characterize the BSR and shallow structures; hence, we conclude that using 4C OBS can reveal the distribution and velocity attributes of gas hydrates.展开更多

All observations from the surveys have been integrated and managed by DOIF. DOIF is capable of supporting the decision of making process for the sustainable use of marine resources in coastal regions of China, providing useful information and added value products as well as services for the improved management of the coastal areas in China with high business impact on the targeted groups as public authorities and commercial operators (e.g. managers, fishermen, shipping companies). The future vision of DOIF in the international marine data and information exchange and service at Western Pacific region is presented in this paper.展开更多

To improve the precision and the reliability of the diagnosis, the aeroengine wear fault fusion diagnosis method based on the neural networks (NN) and the Dempster-Shafter (D-S) evidence theory is proposed. Firstly, according to the standard value of the wear limit, original data are pre-processed into Boolean values. Secondly, sub-NNs are established to perform the single diagnosis, and their training samples are dependent on experiences from experts. After each sub-NN is trained, diagnosis results are obtained. Thirdly, the diagnosis results of each sub-NN are considered as the basic probability allocation value to faults. The improved D-S evidence theory is applied to the fusion diagnosis, and the final fusion results are obtained. Finally, the method is verified by a diagnosis example.展开更多
