In practice the uncertainty on the result may arise from many possible sources, including examples such as incomplete definition, sampling, matrix effects and interferences, environmental couditions, uncertainties of weights and volumetric equipment, reference wtlues, approximations and assump- tions incorporated in the measurement method and procedure, and random wlriation. To test flame propagation velocity of gas explosion in a horizontal tube,a set of flame velocity testing system is designed.The system is composed of two parts:a horizontal tube used for methane burning and a flame de...To test flame propagation velocity of gas explosion in a horizontal tube,a set of flame velocity testing system is designed.The system is composed of two parts:a horizontal tube used for methane burning and a flame detection system.The effect of obstacles on flame propagation velocity of methane explosion is tested.Methane volume density is 10% in the tube.The obstacle is the circular ring,2 mm thick.Its blockage ratios are 40%,50% and 60%,respectively.The number of obstacles put in the tube is 1,3,5 and 7.Experimental results show that the obstacle has obviously accelerating effect on flame wave of gas explosion.As the number and blockage ratios of the obstacles increase,flame accelerating became more obviously.When there are seven obstacles,the maximum average flame velocity reaches over 351.2 m/s.When the blockage ratio of three obstacles is 60%,the maximum average flame velocity is 238.9 m/s.展开更多
A large number of debris flows occurred simultaneously at around 8:30 to 8:50 a.m.on July 27,2011,at the center of Seoul,Korea.This area is located in the southern part of Seoul and is a densely populated district.As ...A large number of debris flows occurred simultaneously at around 8:30 to 8:50 a.m.on July 27,2011,at the center of Seoul,Korea.This area is located in the southern part of Seoul and is a densely populated district.As a result of the debris flow event,16 people were killed,30 houses were buried,and 116 houses were damaged around Umyeon Mountain,a relatively small mountain with a height of 312.6 m.Since the debris flow event,field investigations on the initiation and transportation zones of debris flows have been carried out.Rainfall data were collected from the automatic weather stations(AWSs) which are operated by the Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA).Video files recorded by residents were also acquired and used to analyze the flow characteristics of the debris flow.Field investigation shows that about 40 debris flows occurred around Umyeon Mountain and most of the debris flows were initiated by small slope failures.The effects of the precipitation that triggered the debris flows were analyzed as well.A landslide hazard map which considers slope gradient and aspect,strength of soil,hazard record,rainfall conditions,and vegetation,was constructed and compared with the initiation zones of debris flows.展开更多

A method of estimating hand and elbow movements using electrocorticogram (ECoG) signals is proposed. Using multiple channels, surface electromyogram (EMG) signals and ECoG signals were obtained from patients simul...A method of estimating hand and elbow movements using electrocorticogram (ECoG) signals is proposed. Using multiple channels, surface electromyogram (EMG) signals and ECoG signals were obtained from patients simultaneously. The estimated movements were those to close and then open the hand and those to bend the elbow inward. The patients were encouraged to perform the movements in accordance with their free will instead of after being induced by external stimuli. Surface EMG signals were used to find movement time points, and ECoG signals were used to estimate the movements. To extract the characteristics of the individual movements, the ECoG signals were divided into a total of six bands (the entire band and the ~, 0, a ,fl and 7 bands) to obtain the information entropy, and the maximum likelihood estimation method was used to estimate the movements. The results of the experiment show that the performance averages 74 % when the ECoG of 7 band is used, which is higher than that when other bands are used, and higher estimation success rates are shown in the 7 band than in other bands. The time of the movements is divided into three time sections based on movement time points, and the "Before" section, which includes the readiness potential, is compared with the "Onset" section. In the "Before" section and the "Onset" section, estimation success rates are 66 % and 65 %, respectively, and thus it is determined that the readiness potential could can be used.展开更多
