Four optimal sparse representation methods for compression have been considered including the method of frames ( MOF), best orthogonal basis ( BOB), matching pursuit (MP) and basis pursuit (BP). Furthermore, several indicators including compression ratio (CR), mean square error (MSE), energy retained (ER) and Kurtosis are taken to evaluate the performance of the above methods. The hippocampal field potential signal in the brain of rat was sampled using the acquisition card' s A/D channel, and the amplitude and cycle characteristics were analyzed and the wave peak or trough of the coming field potential ( 0 ) rhythm was predicted using LabVIEW program. Meanwhile, the needed stimulus signal was output at the specified phase position via the digital port or D/A channel of the acquisition card, so as to implement the nerve stimulation. The experimental result showed that the prediction accuracies of 0 -rhythm wave peak and trough were up to 92% and 86%, respectively. The electrical stimulation system can be applied to predicting a variety of nervous rhythm wave phases and other signal characteristics because of its universality and flexibility. Thus, a new loop control stimulation method is provided for the nerve electrophysiology study and the electrical stimulation treatment of brain diseases.展开更多

The system allows acquisition on tri-phases plu...In order to provide power quality monitoring activities with metrological certification, a DAS (data acquisition system) has been designed, realized and characterized. The system allows acquisition on tri-phases plus neutral lines picking up 499 samples per period of the fundamental at 50 Hz. To ensure certified measurements, the system gets external certified time and voltage references. The system uses a FTDI Virtual Com Port Driver to communicate data over High Speed RS232 virtual interface and it does not need any advanced programming skill. The choice to use a virtual serial communication makes the data acquisition software portable over many platforms, regardless by the development environment and by the programming language. To test the proposed device some custom software have been written in many programming language (C^#, VB6, LabView, MatLab), moreover in order to characterize the device the most common ADC (analog to digital converter) performing test have been applied.展开更多

Besides, since 2007, the solar electricity interconnection agreement became official which allowed for an important growth of the photovoltaic industry. Due to the important development of the PV industry, there is a need for engineers trained to design, install, and evaluate PV systems The UAEMEX (autonomous university of the state of Mexico) offers a new bachelor degree of engineering program which dedicated to the development of sustainable energy systems. This kind of programs requires special equipment for experimentation and practice Specialists at UAEMEX also detected the need for a system to evaluate and demonstrate the application of PV modules, but they also found that most of the systems on the market are very expensive and unable to evaluate different arrangements. The goal of this paper is to present the design of a mobile system to evaluate PV modules and arrangements. This system is useful, not only for demonstration practices, but also for experimentation with different materials and types of PV panels. The design allows for two or four PV modules to be assembled in different positions and inclinations. The prototype is equipped with a data acquisition system that will be used to obtain the PV module performance curves. It will also be used to evaluate the atmospheric, interference and shadow effects on these modules. This prototype will be used to complement the practice learning of solar PV systems, but also to demonstrate the use of PV modules. The prototype is being design and constructed by a group of mechanical and electronic engineering students and this fact will be useful to meet the needs of basic science, math, and engineering teaching objectives in an integrated and hands-on way project. The essential features of system are described. A comparative analysis of the systems on the market is carried out. Also presented are the learning advantages for the students involved in the design and construction of this kind of systems, as well as a summary of practices that may be performed with the equipment.展开更多
