A capacitor self-calibration circuit used in a successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (SA-ADC) is presented. This capacitor self-calibration circuit can calibrate erroneous data and work with the ADC by adding an additional clock period. This circuit is used in a 10 bit 32 Msample/s time-interleaved SA- ADC. The chip is implemented with Chart 0. 25 μm 2. 5 V process and totally occupies an area of 1.4 mm× 1.3 mm. After calibration, the simulated signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is 59. 586 1 dB and the spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) is 70. 246 dB at 32 MHz. The measured signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SINAD) is 44. 82 dB and the SFDR is 63. 760 4 dB when the ADC samples a 5.8 MHz sinusoid wave. 展开更多

A numerical model for proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell is developed, which can simulate such basic transport phenomena as gas-liquid two-phase flow in a working fuel cell. Boundary conditions for both the conventional and the interdigitated modes of flow are presented on a three-dimensional basis. Numerical techniques for this model are discussed in detail. Validation shows good agreement between simulating results and experimental data. Furthermore, internal transport phenomena are discussed and compared for PEM fuel cells with conventional and interdigitated flows. It is found that the dead-ended structure of an interdigitated flow does increase the oxygen mass fraction and decrease the liquid water saturation in the gas diffusion layer as compared to the conventional mode of flow. However, the cathode humidification is important for an interdigitated flow to acquire better performance than a conventional flow fuel cell. 展开更多

Combination of the grid re-meshing method and the snapper technique made the valves move smoothly. The flow structure and pattern in a complete engine cycle were described in detail. Tumble ratios around the x-axis and y-axis were analyzed. Comparison of computed pressure with experimental pressure under motored condition revealed that the simulation had high calculation precision; CFD simulation can be regarded as an im-portant tool for resolving the complex aerodynamic behavior in motorcycle engines. 展开更多

The orientation strategy of side pipe and the heat transfer performance of six ground heat exchangers(GHEs) were optimized by numerical simulation,with soil being treated as a porous medium.An experiment on the heat transfer of four GHEs was carried out in 2010.Results indicate that the velocity field is disturbed by GHEs.The optimal orientation strategy of side pipe is that the upward pipe is located upstream and the downward pipe downstream.The space between GHEs should be appropriately adjusted,depending on the direction and flow velocity.Groups of GHEs should be installed perpendicular to the mainstream in a single row,but if the acreage does not meet the requirements,GHEs should be installed in staggered multiple rows.Fewer GHEs parallel to the mainstream strengthen the heat transfer.Moreover,numerical results agree well with the test data,with the maximum relative error being less than 7.7%. 展开更多

This paper presents a superstructure-based formulation for the synthesis of mass-exchange networks (MENs) considering multiple components. The superstructure is simplified by directly using the mass separation agents (MSA) from their sources, and therefore the automatic synthesis of the multi-component system involved in the MENs can be achieved without choosing a 'key-component' either for the whole process or the mass exchangers. A mathematical model is proposed to carry out the optimization process. The concentrations, flow rates, matches and unit operation displayed in the obtained network constitute the exact representation of the mass exchange process in terms of all species in the system. An example is used to illustrate and demonstrate the application of the proposed method. 展开更多

The analysis of the flow and the prediction of the heat transfer are performed by solving the non linear unsteady Navier-Stocks equations using the finite volume method implemented in -ANSYS CFX- CFD code. The results show an increase in the limit cycle acoustic pressure and power as well as the specific work per cycle with the increase of heat exchangers length. 展开更多

In principle, non-Hermitian quantum equations of motion can be formulated using as a starting point either the Heisenberg's or the Schroedinger's picture of quantum dynamics. Here it is shown in both cases how to map the algebra of commutators, defining the time evolution in terms of a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian, onto a non-Hamiltonian algebra with a Hermitian Hamiltonian. The logic behind such a derivation is reversible, so that any Hermitian Hamiltonian can be used in the formulation of non-Hermitian dynamics through a suitable algebra of generalized (non-Hamiltonian) commutators. These results provide a general structure (a template) for non-Hermitian equations of motion to be used in the computer simulation of open quantum systems dynamics. 展开更多

A power interface to the electronic load and a digital section are provided. The fuel cell steady-state, dynamic and thermal behaviour is modeled by the digital controller. The emulator architecture is deeply analyzed and remarks on hardware implementation algorithms are provided for further applications. The system is tested on a 10 W Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell and the high accuracy of the proposed emulator is shown by the comparison between experimental and simulation results. 展开更多

A CFD (computational fluid dynamics) program FLUENT has been used to predict the temperature distribution in steady-state conditions in plate heat exchanger as well as fluid temperatures at exit of flow channels in transient condition. The results are presented for the heat exchanger, which is simulated according to the configuration of the plate heat exchanger used in the experiment. The simulated results obtained by the CFD model have been compared with the experimental data from the literature, which shows that the CFD model developed in this study is capable of predicting the steady-state and transient performance of the plate heat exchangers satisfactorily. 展开更多

Two novel criteria are developed for the stability of a class of complex- DDEs. These results not only generalize some known results in literature but also greatly reduce the complexity of analysis and computation. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed criteria, the stabilization problem of the extended time delay auto-synchronization (ETDAS) control and n time delay auto-synchronization (NTDAS) control are then further investigated, respectively. Experimental study and one dimensional model analysis were conducted to investigate cooling performance of an integrated impingement and pin fin cooling device. A typical configuration specimen was made and tested in a large scale low speed closed-looped wind tunnel. Detailed two-dimensional contour maps of the temperature and cooling effectiveness were obtained for different pressure ratios and therefore different coolant flow-rates through the tested specimen. The experimental results showed that very high cooling effectiveness can be achieved by this cooling device with relatively small amount of coolant flow. Based on the theory of transpiration cooling in porous material, a one dimensional heat transfer model was established to analyze the effect of various parameters on cooling effectiveness. It was found from this model that the variation of heat transfer on the gas side, including heat transfer coefficient and film cooling effectiveness, of the specimen created much more effect on its cooling effectiveness than that of the coolant side. The predictions of the one-dimensional mode were compared and agreed well with the experimental data. 展开更多
