The dependence of elastic moduli of shales on the mineralogy and microstructure of shales is important for the prediction of sweet spots and shale gas production. Based on 3D digital images of the microstructure of Longmaxi black shale samples using X-ray CT, we built detailed 3D digital images of cores with porosity properties and mineral contents. Next, we used finite-element (FE) methods to derive the elastic properties of the samples. The FE method can accurately model the shale mineralogy. Particular attention is paid to the derived elastic properties and their dependence on porosity and kerogen. The elastic moduli generally decrease with increasing porosity and kerogen, and there is a critical porosity (0.75) and kerogen content (ca. ≤3%) over which the elastic moduli decrease rapidly and slowly, respectively. The derived elastic moduli of gas- and oil-saturated digital cores differ little probably because of the low porosity (4.5%) of the Longmaxi black shale. Clearly, the numerical experiments demonstrated the feasibility of combining microstructure images of shale samples with elastic moduli calculations to predict shale properties. 展开更多

In order to improve the load capacity, seismic performance and performance-cost ratio of the columns, the concrete at the base of reinforced concrete (RC) columns is substituted with engineered cementitious composites (ECC) to form ECC/RC composite columns. Based on the existing material properties, the mechanical behaviors of the ECC columns, ECC/RC composite columns and RC columns were numerically studied under combined vertical and horizontal loading with the software of ATENA. Then, the failure mechanism of ECC columns and ECC/RC composite columns were comprehensively studied and compared with that of the RC columns. Then, the effects of the height of the ECC, the axial compression ratio, and the transverse reinforcement ratio on the mechanical behaviors of the composite or the ECC column are studied. The calculation results show that the ultimate load capacity, ductility and crack resistance of the ECC or ECC/RC composite columns are superior to those of the RC columns. The ECC/RC composite column with a height of the ECC layer of 1.2h ( h is the height of the cross section) can achieve similar mechanical properties of a full ECC column. With high shear strength, ECC can undertake the shear force and significantly reduce the amount of stirrups, avoiding construction issues and promoting its engineering application. 展开更多

Based on the analysis of several objective functions,a new method was proposed.Firstly,the feature of the inclination curve was analyzed.On this basis,the soil could be divided into several blocks with different displacements and deformations.Then,the method of the soil division was presented,and the characteristic of single soil block was studied.The displacement of the block had two components:sliding and deformation.Moreover,a new objective function was constructed according to the deformation of the soil block.Finally,the sensitivities of the objective functions by traditional method and the new method were calculated,respectively.The result shows that the new objective function is more sensitive to mechanical parameters and the inversion result is close to that obtained by the large direct shear apparatus.So,this method can be used in slope back analysis and its effectiveness is proved. 展开更多

On Trivariate Copulas with Bivariate Linear Spearman Marginal Copulas

Based on the trivariate reduction technique two different trivariate Bernoulli mixtures of univariate uniform distributions and their associated trivariate copulas with bivariate linear Spearman marginal copulas are considered. Mathematical characterizations of these Bernoulli mixture models are obtained. Since Bernoulli mixture trivariate reduction copulas are not compatible with all valid grade correlation coefficients, and there exist linear Spearman compatible non-Bernoulli mixture trivariate copulas, one can ask when there exists at all a trivariate copula with given linear Spearman marginal copulas. Based on a known concordance ordering compatibility criterion, a set of grade correlation inequalities, which must necessarily be satisfied for compatibility, is derived. The existence question for trivariate copulas with compatible linear Spearman marginal copulas is settled in the main result, which states that this set of inequalities is also sufficient for compatibility. The constructive proof makes use of two new classes of trivariate copulas that are obtained from the Bernoulli mixture trivariate copulas through a natural parametric extension. Finally, the obtained classes of trivariate copulas are compared with another class that contains as special case some trivariate copulas with linear Spearman marginal copulas. Since the latter class is incompatible with some type of linear Spearman copulas, the new classes of trivariate copulas build a richer class in this respect. Moreover, in contrast to the mentioned class, which requires in general 11 different elementary copulas in the defining convex linear combination, the new classes require at most five of them, which results in a more parsimonious parametric modelling. 展开更多

This study, by referring to the related literatures, is designed to explore the influence of manual manipulations and electrical parameters on therapeutic effects of acupuncture. The results from the present study show that different manualmanipulations and electrical parameters may exert different therapeutic effects of acupuncture, which are closely related to the characteristics of diseases.Different manual manipulations and electrical parameters should be adopted according to syndrome differentiation of TCM. Generalized p-values are proposed based on fiducial method for testing the two hypotheses at the presence of nonparametric nuisance parameter. Note that the nonparametric component can be approximated by a linear combination of some known functions, thus, the partially linear model can be approximated by a linear model. Thereby, generalized p-values for a linear model are studied first, and then the results are extended to the situation of partially linear model. Small sample frequency properties are analyzed theoretically. Meanwhile, simulations are conducted to assess the finite sample performance of the tests based on the proposed p-values. 展开更多

For different directions of DM vector, we find that there are different optimal parameter components of magnetic field. Moreover, we find that the optimal parameter components rules are the same for the Hamiltonian H_1 and H_2. A detailed correlation of Hetianhe condensates versus typical source rocks from the Tarim Basin was established. Moreover, the genetic relationship between the condensates and their associated gases was also studied based on their geochemical com- positions and fluid inclusion data. Hetianhe condensates are characterized by high pristine/phytane (Pr/Ph) ratios, high relative abundances of Czs regular steranes, C26-C27 triaromatic steroids, and triaromatic dinosteranes, and relatively heavy stable car- bon isotopic compositions. They geochemically correlate well with the Cambrian source rocks, indicating that these conden- sates are derived from the Cambrian rocks. Based on several molecular maturity parameters, the condensates are recognized as being moderately to highly mature, which are too low in maturity to extensively crack into gases. The gases and condensates of the Hetianhe Field are derived from the same source rocks and the gases are from oil-cracking; however, clear evidence indi- cates that the gases were not cracked from their associated condensates and that the gas generation from oil-cracking did not occur in the present reservoirs. The liquid condensates produced from wellheads were likely dissolved in their associated gases underground and carried into the reservoirs by the gases. 展开更多
