The lean thinking proposed by Taiichi Ohno and developed by Toyota Company has been tested and found effective in several production processes. This paper aims to propose a method of problem solving through the integration of the principles of lean thinking and the TPTOC (Thinking Process of the Theory of Constraints). The method was implemented on a civil contractor, using the research methodology and the action research. We concluded that, after the research, the core problem regarding the company is the technical failure of the administrative staff, which causes delay in the construction works and financial loss. We also concluded that the obstacles that could prevent the achievement of objectives are related to lack of a vision from senior management regarding financial return when investing in employee training. The goal was accomplished with the integration of two philosophies, TPTOC and lean. And only the tools proposed by Fl^vio Augusto Picchi were not enough for executing the action, so new lean actions were verbalized.展开更多

Guidelines of small hydropower development dealing with environmental protection were sug- gested hereby. Various specific technical environmental solutions focusing on small hydropower development applied in European and other developed countries were also introduced in this paper. Main environmental solutions are discussed as follows: integrated design should be advocated during plan/design stage," ecohydraulic engineering and its utilization in SHP design and construction; effective technical approaches to relieve and eliminate the impact of river interception and fix the reasonable minimum biological flow; environment-friendly mitigation and compensation measures for high/low-head hydropower schemes applied in diversion works, intake, nature-like fish-passes, penstock and powerhouse design; study and application of the new technology, material and equipments; launching renovation of environmental protection in existing stations; emphasiz- ing public participation and their acceptability for the SHP environment; coordinated inter-disciplinary study at national level, etc. Two case studies in Sweden and Australia are given here.展开更多

The control combines a model-free fuzzy control, a fuzzy sliding-mode control and a model-based fuzzy control. The model-free fuzzy controller designed for the upswing ensures that the energy of the acrobot increases with each swing. Then the fuzzy sliding-mode controller is employed to control the movement that the acrobot enters the balance area from the swing-up area. The model-based fuzzy controller, which is based on a Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model, is used to balance the acrobot. The stability of the fuzzy control system for balance control is guaranteed by a common symmetric positive matrix, which satisfies linear matrix inequalities.展开更多

This algorithm has some attractive convergence properties. Convergence theory can be obtained under the condition that Δ↓f(x) is uniformly continuous. If Δ↓f(x) is continuously differentiable pseudo-convex, the whole sequence of iterates converges to a solution of the problem without any other assumptions. Furthermore, under appropriate conditions one shows that the sequence of iterates has a cluster-point if and only if Ω* ≠ θ. Numerical examples are given at the end of this paper.展开更多

文摘This paper describes an intelligent integrated control of an acrobot, which is an underactuated mechanical system with second-order nonholonomic constraints. The control combines a model-free fuzzy control, a fuzzy sliding-mode control and a model-based fuzzy control. Then the fuzzy sliding-mode controller is employed to control the movement that the acrobot enters the balance area from the swing-up area. The stability of the fuzzy control system for balance control is guaranteed by a common symmetric positive matrix, which satisfies linear matrix inequalities.
