“情境教学法”是指教师充分利用形象、生动的教学手段和文学语言的描述,再现教材的情境,激起学生的学习情绪,引导学生从整体上理解和运用知识的一种教学方法.它最大的特点是符合学生认识事物的规律——从感知开始,通过感知形成表象.“... “情境教学法”是指教师充分利用形象、生动的教学手段和文学语言的描述,再现教材的情境,激起学生的学习情绪,引导学生从整体上理解和运用知识的一种教学方法.它最大的特点是符合学生认识事物的规律——从感知开始,通过感知形成表象.“情境教学法”的运用,能使被感知的事物鲜明、生动、具体地再现于学生面前,使学生大脑中的表象清晰、丰富,有利于活跃学生的形象思维和逻辑思维.“情境教学法”在文化课教学,尤其是在文学作品课分析中被广泛应用,并为多数教师认可.那么,技术性很强的专业课是否也可运用呢?笔者作过一些探索.大家知道,汽车技校的专业课不同于文化课,对刚从初中毕业的学生来说,完全是陌生的课程.例如,《汽车构造》课程,它是汽车驾驶与修理专业学生必学的一门最重要的专业课,要求学生不但要掌握整车及各总成部件的结构、原理,而且要了解汽车的使用、调整、维护等基本方法.在教学过程中,教师会发现那些单调的专业术语、复杂的结构、深奥的工作原理往往会使不少学生感到乏味,提不起兴趣,给教学带来一定的难度,影响教学效果.本人在多年的专业课教学中,体会到“情境教学法”在专业课教学中的裨益. 展开更多

He is unsocial in character and unconventional in behavior. His reclusion can be regarded as the behavioral presentation of his alienation. Salinger also portrays many alienated characters in his The catcher in the rye and Nine stories. These alienated characters include children, adolescents and adults. They alienate themselves from dominant social culture, groups and even themselves. According to the analysis of these alienated protagonists from autobiographical and historical perspectives, the root of their alienation lies in the conflict between their searching for the ideal love and the absence of such love in the dominant society. So comparing with enjoying substantial life, Salinger's works can arouse people's interest and give more concern to their spiritual life. 展开更多

Edgar Allan Poe is one of the greatest writers in American literary history. He was a short-story writer, fathering the detective story and starting the psychoanalytical tradition. He was also a poet, advocating short... Edgar Allan Poe is one of the greatest writers in American literary history. He was a short-story writer, fathering the detective story and starting the psychoanalytical tradition. He was also a poet, advocating short poems with regular and delicate rhyming schemes. He was, at the same time, a literary theorist, writing about the principles of composition. This paper is to analyze the theme and musical quality of Poe's poems, focusing on the techniques Poe had employed in his poems to help enhance his major themes of death and beauty. According to Poe, the most appropriate tone for all poems is melancholy. In Poe's life, there was a personal connection with "the death of a beautiful woman", which is acknowledged in his thesis The philosophy of composition. The impetus for composing of poems undoubtedly arose from Poe's loss of his mother and of other women he had loved. The beauty of music exerts great influence on Poe's aesthetic perception. He paid more than enough attention to the musical qualities of poetry. He defined poetry as "the rhythmical creation of beauty". Poe advocated the idea of the poet as a craftsman, interested in polishing and refining language. He stressed the use of language as a medium of convey pure musical and rhythmical beauty. Poe's reputation for musical verses is due to his choice of sounds and treatment of rimes and meter. 展开更多

For most universities and colleges in China, literary theory is taught at the graduate level of literary studies. Most English teachers think literary theory is such a complex field with jargon-ridden disciplines and concepts that it is often considered as "a hot potato" in classroom teaching. Based on a case study from "Approaching Fiction" in China Youth University of Political Studies (CYUPS), the present paper claims that application of literary theory in teaching literature not only greatly broadens students' horizon but also deepens their interpretation and understanding of literary works. With proper selection of teaching material and carefully designed teaching approaches, application of critical theory plays an increasingly important role in the undergraduate literature classroom. 展开更多
