Neoproterozoic basic magmatism in the southeast margin of North China Craton:Evidence from whole-rock geochemistry,U-Pb and Hf isotopic study of zircons from diabase swarms in the Xuzhou-Huaibei area of China 被引量:23

This paper presents a synthetic U-Pb and Hf isotopic study of zircons and a whole-rock geochemical study on diabase swarms that were emplaced into the Proterozoic formations in the Xuzhou-Huaibei area,the southeast margin of North China Craton.Zircons from the diabase dykes display weak oscillatory zoning in the cathodoluminescence(CL) images and show high Th/U ratios(0.91-6.90),both of which are typical of a magmatic origin.The SHRIMP and Q-ICP-MS U-Pb zircon dating results indicate that the diabase swarms were emplaced at ca.890 Ma.Hf isotopic analysis on these zircons gives Hf(t) values ranging from 2.26 to 14.74 and Hf model age t DM1 and t DM2 ranging from 843 to 1321 Ma and from 808 to 1779 Ma,respectively.Geochemically,the diabase swarms are characterized by a relative enrichment in LREE and LILE(Rb,Ba and La),a comparative enrichment in Cr and Ni,but a slight depletement in HFSE(Th,Nb,Ta,Zr and Hf).They are plotted in the within-plate tholeiite series on the tectonic discrimination diagrams.Taken together,these geochemical and isotopic data suggest that the primary magmas to form the diabase dykes in the Xuzhou-Huaibei area could have been derived from a transitional mantle in the Mesoproterozoic,and were most probably emplaced under a continental margin extensional setting at ca.890 Ma.The results of this study demonstrate that the Neoproterozoic(800-900 Ma)magmatism was not restricted to the Yangtze Block,but also occurred at the southeast margin of the North China Craton. 展开更多

U-Pb dating of TTG gneiss near Korla yielded a late Neoarchean ... The basement rocks in the Kuluketage area are composed predominately of tonalite-trondhjemite-granodiorite rocks, and occured mainly in Xinger and Korla. U-Pb dating of TTG gneiss near Korla yielded a late Neoarchean weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb age of 2.65 Ga, which is the oldest published age for the TTG rocks in the Kuluketage area and thus suggests that Archean terrane in the area was formed in the late Neoarchean. The Korla gneiss is much younger than the TTG rocks in the northern Altyn Tagh, eastern Tarim Craton, indicating that the oldest terrane of the Tarim Craton was exposed probably in the northern Altyn Tagh. Until late Neoarchean, the Tarim continent extends to the Kuluketage area and finally had generated a relatively large uniform Archean basement within the craton. Zircon Hf isotopic analyses of the TTG gneiss give low εHf(t) values (-5 to 1) with Paleoarchean to Mesoarchean two-stage model ages (TDM2) between 3.0 and 3.3 Ga, suggesting that the basement rocks in the northern Tarim Craton were derived dominately from partial melting of Paleoarchean to Mesoarchean juvenile crustal material. The Hf model ages, therefore, indicate that no continent crust older than 3.3 Ga existed in the Kuluketage area. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE: To introduce diagram of Nine-mansions in which another diagram named Xian-Tu is nested together with the mathematical knowledge hidden in them. METHODS: Exploring with algebraic method the diagram of Nine-mansions and diagram of Xian-Tu nested in it and comparing the diagrams with the eight-pointed-star veins. It widely exists in the Neolithic Age's antiques found in China. RESULTS: The golden rectangle and golden spiral were found hidden in the diagrams and they show close relationship with eight-pointed-star veins. CONCLUSION: The mathematical knowledge does exists in the diagram of Nine-mansions and Xian-Tu, which may mean something for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for its discourse on Nine-mansions and Eight-winds obviously employed the diagram of Nine-mansions for its medical purpose. 展开更多
