The double directional solidification(DS) technique was developed to control the lamellar microstructures in primary β TiAl-Nb alloys.Polysynthetically twinned(PST) crystals with lamellar boundaries parallel to o...The double directional solidification(DS) technique was developed to control the lamellar microstructures in primary β TiAl-Nb alloys.Polysynthetically twinned(PST) crystals with lamellar boundaries parallel to or inclined 45o to the growth direction were achieved due to the complete peritectic transformation during directional solidification of the alloys with the dendritic solid/liquid interface.The PST crystals with aligned lamellar boundaries only parallel to the growth direction were produced when lamellar grains with lamellar boundaries in the same orientation were seeded by themselves under appropriate growth conditions.Low boron addition is harmful to align the lamellar orientation because of the growth of non-peritectic α phase.Due to the larger yttria particles and boride ribbons in the directionally solidified TiAl-Nb alloys,the tensile plastic elongations of the alloys are only close to 2%.展开更多

Methods The solubility of PGE1 under different pH conditions was determined. Then, the drug solubility in different concentrations of HP-β-CD acidic or pH neutral solutions was measured, respectively. Finally, a theoretical solubility equation for the drug as a function of HP-β-CD concentration and media pH was deduced and confirmed in experiment. Results PGEs was solubilized by HP-β-CD or by increasing media pH. The drug solubility as a function of HP-β-CD concentration was found to follow the AL-type complexation model in acidic or neutral pH media, suggesting that both the ionized and neutral drugs form 1:1 molecular ratio complexes. Conclusions The solubility of PGE1 may be improved by increasing media pH or by using HP-β-CD as a solubilizer. HP-β-CD and media pH can produce combined effect on the solubility of PGE1. The deduced equation for the drug solubility in this study effectively characterizes the roles of HP-β-CD and media pH in determining total solubility of the drug.展开更多

Both of the endothermic abstraction (D+OD+-→O++D2) and thermo...Quantum dynamics for the D+OD+ reaction at the collision energy range of 0.0-1.0 eV was studied on an accurate ab initio potential energy surface. Both of the endothermic abstraction (D+OD+-→O++D2) and thermoneutral exchange (D+OD+--*D+OD+) channels were investigated from the same set of time-dependent quantum wave packets method under cen- trifugal sudden approximation. The reaction probability dependence with collision energy, the integral cross sections, and the thermal rate constant of the both channels are calculated. It is found that there is a convex structure in the reaction path of the exchange reaction. The calculated time evolution of the wave packet distribution at J=0 clearly indicates that the convex structure significantly influences the dynamics of the exchange and abstraction channels of title reaction.展开更多

We demonstrate for the Fourier basis set that the Hamiltonian can not be arb...In quantum calculations a transformed Hamiltonian is often used to avoid singularities in a certain basis set or to reduce computation time. We demonstrate for the Fourier basis set that the Hamiltonian can not be arbitrarily transformed. Otherwise, the Hamiltonian matrix becomes non-hermitian, which may lead to numerical problems. Methods for cor- rectly constructing the Hamiltonian operators are discussed. Specific examples involving the Fourier basis functions for a triatomic molecular Hamiltonian (J=0) in bond-bond angle and Radau coordinates are presented. For illustration, absorption spectra are calculated for the OC10 molecule using the time-dependent wavepacket method. Numerical results indicate that the non-hermiticity of the Hamiltonian matrix may also result from integration errors. The conclusion drawn here is generally useful for quantum calculation using basis expansion method using quadrature scheme.展开更多
AIM: To investigate the expression of leukemia related protein 16 (LRP16), and the possible relationship between LRP16 expression and clinicopathological indices in 336 gastric carcinoma patients. METHODS: Immunoh...AIM: To investigate the expression of leukemia related protein 16 (LRP16), and the possible relationship between LRP16 expression and clinicopathological indices in 336 gastric carcinoma patients. METHODS: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect LRP16 expression in 336 cases of paraffin-embedded gastric carcinoma tissues and 60 cases of distal normal mucosa. The relationships between LRP16 expression and patients' age, tumor size, histological grade, clinical stage, metastatic status and prognosis were analysed. RESULTS: The expression of LRP16 was 58.6% (197/336) in gastric carcinoma and 31.7% (19/60) in distal normal gastric mucosa. The expression of LRP16 in carcinoma was significantly higher than that in normal mucosa tissues (x^2 = 14.929, P = 0.001). LRP16 protein expression was found in 44.1% (63/143) carcinomas at stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ, and 69.4% (134/193) carcinomas at stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ (Z2 = 21.804, P = 0.001), and in 56.9% (182/320) of cancers without metastasis but 93.8% (15/16) of those with metastasis (2 = 8.543, P = 0.003). The expression of LRP16 was correlated with tumor size, infiltrative depth, clinical stage, lymphatic invasion and distant metastasis (all P 〈 0.05). Follow-up data showed that there was a significant difference in median survival time between cancer patients with expression of LRP16 (27.0 mo) and those without (48.0 mo, Log rank =31.644, P = 0.001). CONCLUSION: The expression of LRP16 may be associated with invasion, metastasis and prognosis of gastric cancer.展开更多

The two is investigated by combining rate theories key parameters for the control of energy transfer, electronic coupling and reorganization energy, are calculated based on the diabatic states constructed by the constrained density functional theory. The fluctuation of the electronic coupling is further revealed by molecular dynamics simulation. Succeedingly, the diagonal and off-diagonal fluctuations of the Hamiltonian are mapped from the correlation functions of those parameters, and the rate is then estimated both from the perturbation theory and wavepacket diffusion method. The results manifest that both the static and dynamic fluctuations enhance the rate significantly, but the rate from the dynamic fluctuation is smaller than that from the static fluctuation.展开更多

This new propagator is exact and unconditionally convergent for calculating reactive scattering processes with large time step sizes. In order to improve the computational efficiency, the spectral difference method was applied. This resulted the Hamiltonian with elements confined in a narrow diagonal band. In contrast to our previous theoretical work, the discrete variable representation was applied and resulted in full Hamiltonian matrix. As examples, the collision energy-dependent probability of the triatomic H+H2 and O+O2 reaction are calculated. The numerical results demonstrate that this new propagator is numerically accurate and capable of propagating the wave packet with large time steps. However, the efficiency and accuracy of this new propagator strongly depend on the mathematical method for solving the involved linear equations and the choice of preconditioner.展开更多

In this work, the effect of non-adiabatic couplings in the H+MgH;→Mg;+H;reaction are studied using the time-dependent wave packet method and trajectory surface hopping method. The calculated results show that the reaction follows a direct abstraction process when the non-adiabatic couplings are neglected. However, when non-adiabatic couplings are included in the calculations, a longlived excited state complex(MgH_(2)+)*can be formed during the reaction. These direct and complex-forming reaction pathways are revealed by trajectory surface hopping calculations.The non-adiabatic couplings induced complex-forming mechanism not only increases the reactivity but also has significant effect on the product vibrational state distribution.展开更多

Results One case was intramural esophageal cyst and 16 cases were enteric cysts, two among which were complicated with abdominal enteric duplications. Most cases presented with symptoms of respiratory distress. Twelve cases were complicated with vertebral anomalies. AIM: In the present study, antibody and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) proliferative responses against hepatitis C virus (HCV) antigens were evaluated in HCV chronically infected patients. METHODS: Pa...AIM: In the present study, antibody and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) proliferative responses against hepatitis C virus (HCV) antigens were evaluated in HCV chronically infected patients. METHODS: Paired serum and PBMC samples were taken six months apart from 34 individuals, either treated or not, and tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and carboxyfluorescein succinimidyl ester staining. RSULTS: Over 70% of the patients showed specific IgG and IgM against capsid, E1 and NS3, while HVR-1 was recognized by half of the patients. An increase in the levels of the anti-capsid IgM (P = 0.027) and IgG (P = 0.0006) was observed in six-month samples, compared to baseline. Similarly, a significantly higher percent of patients had detectable IgA reactivity to capsid (P = 0.017) and NS3 (P = 0.005) after six months, compared to baseline. Particularly, IgA against structural antigens positively correlated with hepatic damage (P = 0.036). IgG subclasses evaluation against capsid and NS3 revealed a positive recognition mediated by IgG1 in more than 80% of the individuals. On the contrary, less than 30% of the patients showed a positive proliferative response either of CD4+ or CD8+ T cells, being the capsid poorly recognized. CONCLUSION: These results confirm that while the cellular immune response is narrow and weak, a broad and vigorous humoral response occurs in HCV chronic infection. The observed correlation between IgA and hepatic damage may have diagnostic significance, although it warrants further confirmation.展开更多

Three types of palm diacylglycerol olein (PDAGOL) at different degree of unsa...The purpose of this study was to investigate the suitability of palm diacylglycerol (PDAG)-enriched formulations for bakery shortening. Three types of palm diacylglycerol olein (PDAGOL) at different degree of unsaturation (PDAGOL1V56, PDAGOLIV62 and PDAGOLIV64) were used as main raw materials blended with palm stearin (PS). The blending compositions ranged from 30% to 70% of PDAGOLIV56/PS, PDAGOLIV62/PS and PDAGOLIV64/PS, respectively. The physicochemical properties of all binary blend systems were characterized for fatty acid composition (FAC), slip melting point (SMP) and solid fat content (SFC). The selected bakery shortening formulations were further characterised for polymorphic form of fat crystal and thermal behavior, using X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Bakery shortening enriched with diacylglycerol that were produced from 40DS56 (40% PDAGOLIV56/60% PS), 40DS62 (40% PDAGOL1V62/60% PS) and 40DS64 (40% PDAGOLIV64/60% PS) had 45%-50% unsaturated fatty acid and crystallized in β + β polymorphs; thus they were suitable for shortening system. Based on product's baking performance, it could be found that all Madeira cakes prepared from bakery shortening enriched with diacylglycerol had higher specific cake volume as compared to commercial shortening (CS). In customer acceptance test, Madeira cake made from 40DS56 shortening scored the highest rating for all sensory attributes, including overall customer acceptability. It had given an indication that 40DS56 shortening formulation was the most suitable fat blends to be used as bakery shortening.展开更多

Alternative contracting techniques have been frequently used in highway construction in the United State and have played an important role in the effort to improve construction project performance. However, it is stil...Alternative contracting techniques have been frequently used in highway construction in the United State and have played an important role in the effort to improve construction project performance. However, it is still unknown whether which project factors have significant influence on project performance. It is essential to learn from the experiences and opinions of construction project managers who had executed innovative or alternative contracts in order to improve and refine the usage of alternative contracting methods. Innovative contracting methods have been used by state Departments of Transportation for many years, so there is now sufficient data to measure the effectiveness of these innovations. Working under a grant from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), the research team used the experiences and opinions of construction field engineers who had executed innovative contracts on FDOT projects to measure the effectiveness of these systems. To that end, interviews were conducted with FDOT and consultant personnel from across Florida. All interviewed were project managers who had overseen at least one project using an innovative contracting method. Discussions brought enthusiastic responses from those interviewed, both for and against certain innovations. This paper will focus on the experiences and opinions of those experienced construction field engineers dealing with well-known innovations, as well as newer innovations such as "Detour Rental" and "Damage Recovery".展开更多

These direct and complex-forming reaction pathways are revealed by trajectory surface hopping calculations.The non-adiabatic couplings induced complex-forming mechanism not only increases the reactivity but also has significant effect on the product vibrational state distribution.
文摘Objective To investigate the diagnosis and therapy of mediastinal enterogenous cysts in children. Methods Clinical data of 17 cases with mediastinal enterogenous cysts within 19 years in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Results One case was intramural esophageal cyst and 16 cases were enteric cysts, two among which were complicated with abdominal enteric duplications. Most cases presented with symptoms of respiratory distress. Twelve cases were complicated with vertebral anomalies. Ultrasound helpful in confirming the cystic nature of these lesions. posterior mediastinum. of 12 cases and magnetic resonance imaging of 4 cases were Eight cases had technetium-99m pertechnetate scintigraphy of posterior mediastinum.Conclusions Most patients present with symptoms of respiratory distress, complicated with vertebral anomalies. Ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging may be helpful in confirming the cystic nature of these lesions. Technetium-99m pertechnetate scintigraphy is the most effective method for differentiation of the disease from other mediastinal cysts.

文摘Complex absorbing potential is usually required in a time-dependent wave packet method to accomplish the calculation in a truncated region.Usually it works effectively but becomes inefficient when the wave function involves translational energy of broad range,particularly involving ultra-low energy.In this work,a new transparent boundary condition(TBC)is proposed for the time-dependent wave packet method.It in principle is of spectral accuracy when typical discrete variable representations are applied.The prominent merit of the new TBC is that its accuracy is insensitive to the translational energy distribution of the wave function,in contrast with the complex absorbing potential.Application of the new TBC is given to one-dimensional particle wave packet scatterings from a barrier with a potential well,which supports resonances states.
文摘Abstract:A space-filling polyhedron is a polyhedron which 'tile' space, analogous to the way of certain polygons tiled the plane. The cube is the unique space-filling platonic solid. If we make line connections the center with the vertices in the certain cube, the cube is divided into six pyramids. And if we glued six pyramids to the faces of the cube, we obtain a 'rhombic dodecahedron'. Since cubes are packing a space, rhombic dodecahedra are also space-filling polyhedra and a rhombic dodecahedron is divided into two regular tetrahcdra and one regular octahedron. In this study, we present how rhombic dodecahedron can be split into tetrahedra and octahedron. In this process, we can research a variety of divisions of regular polyhedron.

文摘AIM: In the present study, antibody and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) proliferative responses against hepatitis C virus (HCV) antigens were evaluated in HCV chronically infected patients. METHODS: Paired serum and PBMC samples were taken six months apart from 34 individuals, either treated or not, and tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and carboxyfluorescein succinimidyl ester staining. RSULTS: Over 70% of the patients showed specific IgG and IgM against capsid, E1 and NS3, while HVR-1 was recognized by half of the patients. An increase in the levels of the anti-capsid IgM (P = 0.027) and IgG (P = 0.0006) was observed in six-month samples, compared to baseline. Similarly, a significantly higher percent of patients had detectable IgA reactivity to capsid (P = 0.017) and NS3 (P = 0.005) after six months, compared to baseline. Particularly, IgA against structural antigens positively correlated with hepatic damage (P = 0.036). IgG subclasses evaluation against capsid and NS3 revealed a positive recognition mediated by IgG1 in more than 80% of the individuals. On the contrary, less than 30% of the patients showed a positive proliferative response either of CD4+ or CD8+ T cells, being the capsid poorly recognized. CONCLUSION: These results confirm that while the cellular immune response is narrow and weak, a broad and vigorous humoral response occurs in HCV chronic infection. The observed correlation between IgA and hepatic damage may have diagnostic significance, although it warrants further confirmation.
文摘The purpose of this study was to investigate the suitability of palm diacylglycerol (PDAG)-enriched formulations for bakery shortening. Three types of palm diacylglycerol olein (PDAGOL) at different degree of unsaturation (PDAGOL1V56, PDAGOLIV62 and PDAGOLIV64) were used as main raw materials blended with palm stearin (PS). The blending compositions ranged from 30% to 70% of PDAGOLIV56/PS, PDAGOLIV62/PS and PDAGOLIV64/PS, respectively. The physicochemical properties of all binary blend systems were characterized for fatty acid composition (FAC), slip melting point (SMP) and solid fat content (SFC). The selected bakery shortening formulations were further characterised for polymorphic form of fat crystal and thermal behavior, using X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Bakery shortening enriched with diacylglycerol that were produced from 40DS56 (40% PDAGOLIV56/60% PS), 40DS62 (40% PDAGOL1V62/60% PS) and 40DS64 (40% PDAGOLIV64/60% PS) had 45%-50% unsaturated fatty acid and crystallized in β + β polymorphs; thus they were suitable for shortening system. Based on product's baking performance, it could be found that all Madeira cakes prepared from bakery shortening enriched with diacylglycerol had higher specific cake volume as compared to commercial shortening (CS). In customer acceptance test, Madeira cake made from 40DS56 shortening scored the highest rating for all sensory attributes, including overall customer acceptability. It had given an indication that 40DS56 shortening formulation was the most suitable fat blends to be used as bakery shortening.

文摘Alternative contracting techniques have been frequently used in highway construction in the United State and have played an important role in the effort to improve construction project performance. However, it is still unknown whether which project factors have significant influence on project performance. It is essential to learn from the experiences and opinions of construction project managers who had executed innovative or alternative contracts in order to improve and refine the usage of alternative contracting methods. Innovative contracting methods have been used by state Departments of Transportation for many years, so there is now sufficient data to measure the effectiveness of these innovations. Working under a grant from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), the research team used the experiences and opinions of construction field engineers who had executed innovative contracts on FDOT projects to measure the effectiveness of these systems. To that end, interviews were conducted with FDOT and consultant personnel from across Florida. All interviewed were project managers who had overseen at least one project using an innovative contracting method. Discussions brought enthusiastic responses from those interviewed, both for and against certain innovations. This paper will focus on the experiences and opinions of those experienced construction field engineers dealing with well-known innovations, as well as newer innovations such as "Detour Rental" and "Damage Recovery".
