The control platform of the induction motor (IM) with low costs is developed by using DSP MC56F8013 with a good performance/price rtaio. The control algorithm for the speed sensorless IM is studied based on the stator flux orientation (SFO). The algorithm structure is simple to be implemented and cannot be influenced by motor parameters, The improved stator flux estimation is used to compensate errors caused by the low pass filter (LPF). A new speed regulator is designed to ensure the system working with the maximal torque in the transient state. The system simulation and the prototype experiment are made. Results show that the con- trol system has good dynamic and static performance. 展开更多

In addition to the basic data ac... A new scheme of the home control system based on ZigBee wireless sensor networks is presented. The design and development of the software and hardware of the proposed system are given. In addition to the basic data acquisition and processing functions, the gateway supports the Bluetooth-based local interface and the general packet radio service (GPRS)-based remote interface. Users on the client service side can use a pocket PC or notebook PC to achieve real-time data acquisition and control instruction implementation, or remotely control the home control system through a mobile phone by sending a short message. The Labview graphical development environment is adopted to create PDA applications running on pocket PCs and monitoring platform established on notebook PCs. Except for the gateway, other nodes in the system work in sleep mode most of the time on the system, and thus it improves the lifetime of the whole system efficiently. 展开更多

A speed sensorless vector control system of induction motor with estimated rotor speed and rotor flux using a new reduced order extended Kalman filter is proposed. With this method, two rotor flux components are selected as the state variables, and the rotor speed as an estimated parameter is regarded as an augmented state variable. The algorithm with reduced order decreases the computational complexity and makes the proposed estimator feasible to be implemented in real time. The simulation results show high accuracy of the estimation algorithm and good performance of speed control, and verify the usefulness of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

In order to start up the brushless DC motor (BLDCM) without reverse rotation and smoothly switch the running state of the motor, a novel startup and smoothly switching method for a sensodess BLDCM is presented. Based on the saturation effect of the stator iron, six short voltage pulses are applied to determine the initial rotor position and the rotor can be found within 60°. After that, a series of short and long voltage pulses are used to accelerate the motor and the variation of the response current is utilized to detect the rotor position dynamically. When the motor reaches a certain speed at which the back-electromotive force (EMF) method can be applied, all the power devices are turned off and the running state of the motor is smoothly switched at the moment determined by the relationship between the terminal voltage waveform and the commutation phases. The experimental results verify the feasibility and validity of the proposed method. 展开更多

In view of the variation of system parameters and external load disturbance affecting the high-performance control of permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM),a fractional order integral sliding mode control(FOISMC)strategy is developed for PMSM drive system by means of fractional order sliding mode observer(FOSMO).Based on FOISMC technology,a fractional order integral sliding mode regulator(FOISM-based regulator)is designed,and a global integral sliding mode surface design method is presented,which can guarantee the global robustness of the system.Combining fractional order theory and sliding mode control theory,the FOSMO is constructed to achieve better identification accuracy of the speed and rotor position.Meanwhile the sliding mode load observer is used to observe the load torque in real time,and the observed value is transmitted to speed regulator to improve the capability of accommodating the challenge of load disturbance.Simulation results validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme. 展开更多

This work proposes a new strategy to improve the rotor position estimation of a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) over wide speed range. Rotor position estimation of a PMSM is performed by using sliding mode observer(SMO). An adaptive observer gain was designed based on Lyapunov function and applied to solve the chattering problem caused by the discontinuous function of the SMO in the wide speed range. The cascade low-pass filter(LPF) with variable cut-off frequency was proposed to reduce the chattering problem and to attenuate the filtering capability of the SMO. In addition, the phase shift caused by the filter was counterbalanced by applying the variable phase delay compensation for the whole speed area. High accuracy estimation result of the rotor position was obtained in the experiment by applying the proposed estimation strategy. 展开更多

A speed-sensorless vector control system for induction machines (IMs)is presented, According to the vector control theory of IMs, the rotor flux is estimated based on a flux observer,and the speed is estimated through the method of q-axis rotor flux converging on zero with proportional integral regulator, A 0.75 kW,50 Hz,two-pole induction machine was used in the simulation and experimental verification, The simulation model was constructed in Matlab. A series of tests were performed in the field weakening region, for both no-load and loaded operation. The estimated speed tracks the actual speed well in the based speed region and field weakening region ( 1 per unit value to 4 per unit value). The small estimation error of residual speed is due to the existence of slip. 展开更多

A novel double extended state observers(ESOs)-based field-oriented control(FOC)strategy is developed for three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM)drive systems without any phase current sensor.In principle,two current sensors are essential parts of the drive system for implementation of the feedback to achieve high accuracy control.For this purpose,the double ESOs are created to provide feedback stator currents instead of actual current sensors.The first one of the double ESOs is designed to estimate the benchmark value of q-axis stator current,which is a primary premise;While the second is designed to estimate real-time stator currents of d-axis and q-axis simultaneously.The resultant double ESOs can rapidly and accurately give estimation of the actual currents of a-axis,b-axis and c-axis,and the synthesized double ESOs-based FOC strategy for PMSM drive system without any current sensors has satisfactory control performance and strong robustness.Numerical experiments validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme. 展开更多

This is also a major parameter when designing a medium access control (MAC) protocol for WSNs. Hierarchical clustering structure is regarded suitable for WSNs due to its good performance in energy conservation. In this work, an adequately flexible mechanism for clustering WSNs is designed, in which some creative or promotional metrics are utilized, such as cluster head selection algorithm, cluster optional reconstruction, interested data transmission, multiple path routing protocol. All these strategies were cooperated to maximize energy saving of whole system. An appropriate MAC protocol for this mechanism is proposed, by flexibly switching the status of diverse sensor nodes in different strategies. The simulation results show that the proposed MAC protocol is suitable for clustering WSNs and performs well in aspects of energy efficiency, flexibility and scalability. 展开更多

One of the main problems in controlling the shape of active structures (AS) is to determine the actuations that drive the structure from the current state to the target state. Model-based methods such as stochastic search require a known type of load and relatively long computational time, which limits the practical use of AS in civil engineering. Moreover, additive errors may be produced because of the discrepancy between analytic models and real structures. To overcome these limitations, this paper presents a compound system called WAS, which combines AS with a wireless sensor and actuator network (WSAN). A bio-inspired control framework imitating the activity of the nervous systems of animals is proposed for WAS. A typical example is tested for verification. In the example, a triangular tensegrity prism that aims to maintain its original height is integrated with a WSAN that consists of a central controller, three actuators, and three sensors. The result demonstrates the feasibility of the proposed concept and control framework in cases of unknown loads that include different types, distributions, magnitudes, and directions. The proposed control framework can also act as a supplementary means to improve the efficiency and accuracy of control frameworks based on a common stochastic search. 展开更多

Speed-adaptive full-order flux observer is the most promising flux estimator among all the sensorless control method.However,conventional speed-adaptive flux observer becomes unstable during regenerating operation at low speed since induction motor is an observable system except dc excitation.Thus,the instability problem is caused by inappropriate designing of observer.Based on the eigenvalues of extended observer,this paper interprets unstable situation,that the eigenvalues of extended ob-server have a positive real part.Therefore,the observer cannot converge.Against the two different solutions for unstable prob-lem-positive real maintaining and current error augment,the proposed method based on the eigenvalue could unify these two solutions,which gives the complete stability condition for speed-adaptive full-order observer.It does a lot help in observer de-signing.The observer configured by this proposed method was verified in the torque controlling of 20 kW induction motor.According to the experiment result,with appropriate designing of observer,the unstable situation during regeneration mode could be completely overcome. 展开更多
