How to reduce the energy consumption powered mainly by battery to prolong the standby time is one of the crucial issues for IEEE 802.16e wireless MANs.By predicting the next downlink inter-packet arrival time,three tr...How to reduce the energy consumption powered mainly by battery to prolong the standby time is one of the crucial issues for IEEE 802.16e wireless MANs.By predicting the next downlink inter-packet arrival time,three traffic-prediction-assisted power saving mechanisms based on P-PSCI,i.e.,PSCI-PFD,PSCI-ED and PSCI-LD,were proposed.In addition,the corresponding adjustment strategies for P-PSCI were also presented when there were uplink packets to be transmitted during sleep mode.Simulation results reveal that compared with the sleep mode algorithm recommended by IEEE 802.16e,the proposed mechanism P-PSCI can improve both energy efficiency and packet delay for IEEE 802.16e due to the consideration of the traffic characteristics and rate changes.Moreover,the results also demonstrate that PSCI-PFD (a=-2) significantly outperforms PSCI-ED,PSCI-LD,and the standard sleep mode in IEEE 802.16e is in terms of energy efficiency and packet delay.展开更多

Located in the ...With the quick development of urbanization, urban expansion has been paid more and more attention to by researchers from westem countries and China. Here Wuxi City of China is selected as a case study. Located in the core-area of Changjiang (Yangtze) River Delta, as the sources of Chinese township enterprise, Wu culture, and national industry, Wuxi has experienced great change in the urban spatial structure, especially in the land use structure, and urban shape and scale. The ratio of industrial land was about one-third of the construction land in 2003. Residential and public infrastructure land had decreased a little from 1956 to 2003, but it remains to be the main construction land at present. Green land has increased at the highest speed due to the demand of sustainable development. After the reform and opening to the outside world, this kind of evolvement of urban spatial expansion is helpful for sustainable development. Economic development, transportation, and administrative planning are the main reasons for these changes. During different periods, the main drives are different. Economic development is the basic factor that influences urban expansion. Transportation influences urban evolvement in different times, but now the importance is not as great as 30 years ago, because administrative force plays an important function in urban planning of China and influences urban evolvement.展开更多

The results showed that vegetation coverage in the study area was 27.2176% with the coefficient of variation of 31.7786%; that the vegetation coverage in separation distance of 〈0.18' showed positive spatial correlation, and the spatial correlation of vegetation coverage in separation distance of 〈0.18' was greater than that in 〉0.18'; that the best fitting model for Semivariance function was exponential model with spatial variation ratio 0.726, which showed strong spatial correlation, and the spatial correlated scale was 0.18'; that the vegetation coverage data in the study area was relatively stable, and the instability mainly occurred on the border of the study area and the surroundings.展开更多

This paper presents the efficient design and implementation of fast Frouier transform (FFT) and inverse fast Frouier transform (IFFT) for the application in IEEE 802. 16d orthogoual frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system. In this design, a novel pipeline structure for the branch of butterfly unit (BU) is proposed, which can improve the processing symbol rate by adding the number of branch flexibly. The symmetrical ping-pang structure of random access memory (RAM) is performed to increase the system throughput. Simulation results reveal that only with 1 branch of BU, the proposed FFF/IFFT design can almost achieve the maximum bandwidth requirement of IEEE 802. 16d OFDM system. And this design has been verified by FPGA and successfully implemented in the prototype of WiMAX transceiver.展开更多

During design,new ideas of bridge construction were carried out to ensure the requirements of safety,comfort and stability of the train under high-speed condition. At the same time,concepts of environmental adaptability,service to transportation and comprehensive benefits were observed. On the whole line,long-bridge schemes were adopted and the most advanced technologies of unballasted track were utilized on bridges,the length of which accounts for 87.7 % of the total line. The success of design and construction of the bridges on this rail has accumulated valuable experience for high-speed railway construction on a large scale in the future,and made it a marking,demonstrating,and model project to follow.展开更多
Anthracite in Jincheng is a highly metamorphic coal and its system of fissures and pores is differentfrom that of low and medium ranked coal.In order to discover their characteristics,69 samples were collected from 18...Anthracite in Jincheng is a highly metamorphic coal and its system of fissures and pores is differentfrom that of low and medium ranked coal.In order to discover their characteristics,69 samples were collected from 18 CBM wells in Zhengzhuang in Jincheng and their fissures and pores were observed by a Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM).To the naked eyes and by SEM,the pores in the Jincheng anthracite are seen to have abundant mold pores with isolated,shallow and poor connectivity(diameters between 1~50 μm) and few plant tissue pores,gas pores,and solution pores.Most of the fissures are filled with clay minerals or closed;while open fissures are not often visible in the Jincheng coal(aperture between 3~10 μm).These characteristics are determined by the high rank and high vitrinite content of the coal.The existence of too many mold pores and filled fissures does not allow the migration of methane,hence hydraulic fracture stimulation will be required and is an effective method of adding and connecting fissures to enhance CBM production.展开更多
An experimental study of the treatment of plastic-contained Japanese MSW (municipal solid waste) employing 1 ton capacity hydrothermal reactor to produce chlorine-free solid fuel has been performed. The system appli...An experimental study of the treatment of plastic-contained Japanese MSW (municipal solid waste) employing 1 ton capacity hydrothermal reactor to produce chlorine-free solid fuel has been performed. The system applies medium-pressure saturated steam at about 2 MPa in a stirred reactor for certain holding period. It was shown that the products exhibited organic chlorine conversion into inorganic chlorine, which can then be water washed. To obtain an optimal operating condition, the temperature and holding period was integrated into one parameter called RS (reaction severity). It was found that to convert 75% organic chlorine in the MSW, the optimum RS number correlates to an operating temperature of about 225℃ and holding period of 90 min, or 235 ℃ for 60 min. Since hydrothermal treatment is a batch process, a shorter holding period is preferable to increase the number of batches and indirectly increase its processing capacity.展开更多
