Three hundred fish [main initial weight (350±12) g] were divided into three groups (E250, E500 and El000) and reared in 9 cages. The fish were fed for 8 weeks with three diets containing different levels of dietary α-tocopheryl acetate (289, 553, 1069 mg/kg). Over the experimental period, fish were fed to satiation and reached a final mean weight of (465±28) g without significant body weight difference and proximate composition difference. Fillet α-tocopherol was significantly (P〈0.05) different between groups, reaching levels of 14.2, 22.1, 30.9 pg/mg fillet for groups E250, E500 and El000, respectively. Total serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity increased significantly (P〈0.05) in fish fed the diets high in α-tocopheryl acetate, but serum glutathione peroxidase (GPX) activity was unaffected. In storage on ice, fillets of fish fed the diets high in α-tocopheryl acetate exhibited significantly lower (P〈0.05) levels of oxidation. These results suggested that increased dietary α-tocopheryl acetate could increase its flesh deposition, increase the activity of SOD and prevent lipid peroxidation ofSparus macrocephalus fillets in retail storage on ice.展开更多

The Lake Jusan is the best productive water area of the shellfish, corbicula, in Japan in 2013. Then, the lake is very important in Aomori Prefecture as corbicula's home. The change of the brackish environment influences the ecology of the corbicula shellfish, then, the shellfish harvest changes every year. Now, it is important to make clear the characteristics of the motion of salt water in the lake. In the present study, observations for the motion of the salt water going up to the lake and going down from the lake to the sea were carried out from June to September in 2015. The present study investigates the time change of the salinity distribution in a perpendicular direction and shows that the movement of the saltwater in the lake can be generated well by the theory given by Sasaki et al., 2009.展开更多

In this research seasonal variation of water quality and also the degree of pollution related to Gamasyab River water have been assessed. First the general status of the river was studied and four sampling stations were determined. In this research, the quality of river water including Dissolved Oxygen (DO), five days Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD)5, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Nitrate, phosphate, temperature, Total Hardness(TH), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) and PH have been determined and assessed on a monthly basis within a five years period. The results were reported as seasonally and presented using statistical tables and graphs. These results showed that Nitrate concentration in Gamasyab River is strongly depending on distance from Gamasyab spring. By increasing the distance from Gamasyab spring, nitrate concentration increased. The amount of DO in the river water is stable in each station within the year. Air temperature changes have had no effect in the amount of DO. Therefore, it is recommended that the river pollution control plans be implemented more serious than before, non point source pollution related to agricultural activities be managed and prevent from pouring untreated rural wastewaters to the mentioned river.展开更多
