According to different mechanisms of dormancy,seeds of Gagea nigra L.Z.Shue were treated with different methods so as to investigate the effects of different treatments on seed germination of G.nigra.The results showe...According to different mechanisms of dormancy,seeds of Gagea nigra L.Z.Shue were treated with different methods so as to investigate the effects of different treatments on seed germination of G.nigra.The results showed that at 4 ℃,the seeds of G.nigra began to germinate on day 32 with germination period of 80 d and germination rate of 72%;room temperature(25 ℃) and acid and alkali treatments were all unsuitable for the germination of G.nigra seeds;no significant differences were found in germination rate of G.nigra seeds among warm water(50℃),ultrasound and 200 mg/L GA_3treatments(P 0.05);seed coat-removing treatment effectively promoted the germination of G.nigra seeds(P =0.002 0.01) with germination rate of 88%;seed coat piercing + 200 mg/L GA_3 and 500 mg/L GA_3+15% H_2O_2 treatments effectively promoted the germination of G.nigra seeds with germination rates of 84% and 82%,respectively(P0.05);the germination vigor of G.nigra seeds in the seed coat piercing + 200 mg/L GA_3 treatment was highest,and it was significantly higher than those in the other treatments.展开更多
Angelica sinensis(Oliv.)Diels is a valuable herbal plant.In production,its premature bolting,caused by vernalization,seriously affects its root yield.In this stuty,thermal treatments of 5,0 and?5°C,as well as tre...Angelica sinensis(Oliv.)Diels is a valuable herbal plant.In production,its premature bolting,caused by vernalization,seriously affects its root yield.In this stuty,thermal treatments of 5,0 and?5°C,as well as treatments with shifts between these temperatures,were performed in its overwintering storage to investigate the chilling effect on the early bolting of Angelica sinensis and analyze the vernalization response to different temperatures.The results indicated that the 0°C treatment rendered the highest bolting rate,and the-5°C resulted in the lowest bolting rate.The initial short-term treatment at-5°C could promote the early bolting of A.sinensis,and the treatment at 5°C prior to planting could hasten its seedling bud growth.At the appropriate temperature,the early bolting rate of Angelica was positively related to the number of treatment days.So the frozen storage at-5°C could inhibit the vernalization of Angelica seedlings and the early bolting.The vernalization of Angelica could be a continuous process related to the number of treatment days.This study would serve as reference for the overwintering storage and cultivation of Angelica.展开更多

Specifically, musical performance parameters (i. e. vibrato expression) of the Waseda Flutist Robot No. 4 Refined IV (WF-4RIV) are to be manipulated. This research focused on enabling the WF-4RIV to interact with human players (musicians) in a natu- ral way. In this paper, as the first approach, a vision processing algorithm, which is able to track the 3Dorientation and position of a musical instrument, was developed. In particular, the robot acquires image data through two catneras attached to its head. Using color histogram matching and a particle filter, the position of the musician's hands on the inset are tracked. Analysis of this data determines orientation and location of the iustnment. These pa- rameters are mapped to manipulate the musical expression of the WF- 4RIV, more specifically sound vibrato and volume values. The authors present preliminary experiments to determine if the robot may dynamically change musical parameters while interacting with a human player (i.e. vibrato etc. ). From the experirnental results, they may confirm the feasibility of the interaction during the performance, although further research must be carried out to consider the physical constraints of the flutist robot.展开更多

This novel diagnostic method utilized the loopmediated isothermal amplification (LAMP), micro fluidic chips and a confocal optical detector with a nonlinear fluorescent filter processor. An isothermal amplification based microfluidic chip for the early diagnostics of lung cancer was developed and a confocal optical detector was improved by a novel real-time fluorescent filter to sensitively monitor the DNA amplification procedure with high signal to noise ratio and fluorescence collecting ability. Experiment showed that a rapid diagnostic of lung cancer by detecting the existence of the CEA mRNA could be performed in only 5 laL of reaction assay in less than 45 min. While the traditional intube RTPCR set consumed more than 25 -μL of the assay and took more than 90 rain.展开更多
