We used generalized additive models (GAM) to analyze the relationship between spatiotemporal factors and catch, and to estimate the monthly marine fishery yield of single otter trawls in Putuo district of Zhoushan, China. We used logbooks from five commercial fishing boats and data in government's monthly statistical reports. We developed two GAM models: one included temporal variables (month and hauling time) and spatial variables (longitude and latitude), and another included just two variables, month and the number of fishing boats. Our results suggest that temporal factors explained more of the variability in catch than spatial factors. Furthermore, month explained the majority of variation in catch. Change in spatial distribution of fleet had a temporal component as the boats fished within a relatively small area within the same month, but the area varied among months. The number of boats fishing in each month also explained a large proportion of the variation in catch. Engine power had no effect on catch. The pseudo-coefficients (PCf) of the two GAMs were 0.13 and 0.29 respectively, indicating the both had good fits. The model yielded estimates that were very similar to those in the governmental reports between January to September, with relative estimate errors (REE) of <18%. However, the yields in October and November were significantly underestimated, with REEs of 36% and 27%, respectively. 展开更多

"Rasi" (cassava-by product) instant cream soup is a processed food product that is made of a mixture of"Rasi" flour, full cream milk powder, beef broth, and spices that are ready to be consumed after being brewed with boiling water to become a thick solution. Complex bonding of fat in full cream milk powder and amylose in rasi flour causes the formation of a hydrophobic layer around granules, inhibiting water absorption during rehydration. The aim of experiment was to define the appropriate concentration of full cream milk powder, to be used in making "Rasi" instant cream soup with the best characteristic and the most preferable by panelist. The method used was experimental method with randomize block design with six treatments and four repetitions. The treatments on full cream milk concentration were A (12.5%), B (15%), C (17.5%), D (20%), E (22.5%) and F (25%), respectively. "Rasi" instant cream soup with E treatment (22.5%) gives the best physical and chemical characteristics and organoleptics accepted by panelists, having an average value of rehydration 405, 16%, 575 cP viscocity, 4.74% water, 16.49% fat, 12.01% protein, average value of rendemen about 28.32% and panelist preference value of Rasi cream soup instan's colour, taste, flavor, and thickness after rehydration were accepted. 展开更多

The management of the irrigation is fundamental for success of leaves vegetables production. The work was carried out aiming to evaluate the production response of the arugula (Eruca sativa Mill.) under different irrigation levels at 25, 31, 37 and 43 days after sowing. The treatments were distributed in randomized blocks design with four replication, and evaluated in split-plot scheme of 4 × 4, with the plots constituted by four irrigation levels equivalent to reference evapotranspiration (ET0) at 50%, 75%, 100% and 125% estimated by Penman-Monteith equation; and the split-plot constituted by days after sowing. The arugula planting was established in November of 2008 with direct sowing in nursery with 0.1 m × 0.2 m per plant, using the cv. "Folha Larga". After the germination phase was carried out crop management necessary to the crop production. It was analyzed: plant height (cm), leaf number, fresh weight (g m2) and dry weight (g m2). The results showed the significant differences at level of 5% of probability for the Scott-Knott test for all variables analyzed after 37 days of planting. The results permit to infer that the irrigation levels exert influence under the studied variables with the higher efficiency of water use found for levels of 75% and 100% of the reference evapotranspiration. 展开更多

There are great differences in foreshock populations in different tectonic blocks: the most abundant foreshocks occurred in the Lancang-Gengma and Tengchong-Baoshan blocks, which have the most abundant foreshocks in the Yunnan region. The predominant magnitude difference, time interval and spatial distance are 0. 5 -2. 9, within 10 days and within 20km, respectively. These characteristics can be used to forecast the mainshock after the identification of a foreshock. 展开更多
