[Method] A pair of primers and a probe were designed based on published nucleotide sequence of invA gene encoding the invasion protein of Salmonella enterica. [ Result] The assay detects Salmonella specifically. The detection limit of the real-time PCR was 17 CFU/test (25 uL/test) for the positive strain. This method was effective to detect artificially contaminated pet food. [ Conclusion] The results showed that Taqman PCR assay was rapid and accurate for detection of Salmonella from infected pet food.展开更多

Recently, a lightning surge is recognized as one of the biggest risks to the society. If the surges induced by lightning invade into low voltage distribution lines, there might be a possibility of giving some severe d...Recently, a lightning surge is recognized as one of the biggest risks to the society. If the surges induced by lightning invade into low voltage distribution lines, there might be a possibility of giving some severe damages to the systems. Therefore, it is necessary to examine these induced phenomena. FDTD (finite difference time domain) method which treats objects as three-dimensional solid circuits is applied to analyze these induced phenomena. VSTL (Virtual Surge Test Lab.) is the surge analysis simulation program using FDTD method. In this paper, the lightning induced phenomena on the low voltage distribution line in the house are analyzed by using VSTL. In this paper, investigation results about induced surge when a lightning struck the point nearby the house, and about a suppressing effect of surges by comparing the results of analysis with and without SPD (surge protective device) are shown. As a result, it is confirmed that SPD is effective for suppressing lightning surge.展开更多

However, the real roughness of the surface is 3D (three-dimensional). Roughness parameters of the 3D surface are also important in analyzing the mechanics of contact surfaces. Problems of mechanics of contact surfaces are related to accuracy of 3D surface roughness characteristic. One of the most important factors for 3D characteristics determination is the number of data points per x and y axes. With number of data points we understand its number in cut-off length. Number of data points have substantial influence on the accuracy of measurement results, measuring time and size of output data file (especially along the y-axis direction, where number of data points are number of parallel profiles). Number of data points must be optimal. Small number of data points lead to incorrect results and increase distribution amplitude, but too large number of data points do not enlarge range of fundamental information, but substantially increase measuring time. Therefore, we must find optimal number of data points per each surface processing method.展开更多
