The proposed algorithm simplifies the basic mass-spring model by replacing the springs of masses with the rigid rods, and using the Verlet Integration method to calculate the position and velocity of the masses. Compared the efficiency and the effect of sinmulation with other similar systems, this algorithm is faster and realistic for some real-time applications.展开更多

The new implicit numerical integration technique of the authors, which is based on a simple approximation of the linear system, has great advantages over the existing implicit integration methods. Moreover, experiment shows that the new technique is highly efficient in animating a kind of non-rigid objects, and suitable for the draping module of the 3D garment CAD system.展开更多

Also from the ancient age, we, humans, knew to mix colors with oil to draw. Materials at the time, however, were very gross with many shortcomings and limitations. Over the time, many generations of painters have taken great pains to search for materials and craped for paint. Nevertheless, only until the age of Van Eyck brothers (around 1390-1441) they gained great success in accomplishing and developing oil-painting techniques. Oil-painting colors until this age got purer, brighter, shinier, waterproof, sustainable, and endurable with time. Since then, oil-paint has been widely used in almost countries worldwide. It can be said that the accomplishment of oil-paint is a great technical revolution that changes and enhances the picture painting art. The painting ofoil in English means oil painting. It is the kind of the most popular and favorite pictures. It is called as the name of painting material. That is the oil paint that can be drawn on wooden, metal, and canvas surfaces, etc., Oil kinds with different materials will bring about kinds of oil paints with differentiated attributes. Oil paintings by Indian painters firstly appeared in those on Buddhism and they came to China from the 5th to 10th centuries but only until the 15th century, oil paintings got popular and developed. Consequently, the mathematics in China and in Korea during the Joseon Dynasty, in contrast to the deductive western mathematics,...Both mathematics and art consistently reflect the spirit of the age in which they arise. Consequently, the mathematics in China and in Korea during the Joseon Dynasty, in contrast to the deductive western mathematics, does not function on the basis of proving something deductively. Rather, the Chinese mathematics from this period was based upon making observations about problems by combining patterns with specific examples. In this paper, this author attempts to compare the differences in mathematics between the East and the West, and also to study the different perspectives in art between the East and the West, in order to identify the relationship between civilization, culture and the spirit of the age. This will explain the reason why the Western 'One Point Perspective' had spread in China and the Chosen Dynasty, yet could not be permanently established in these countries.展开更多

It is often relegated off to its own room or comer of a gallery, and when we see video, we think of film and conjure the...Literally and figuratively, video art is not viewed in the same way as traditional forms of art. It is often relegated off to its own room or comer of a gallery, and when we see video, we think of film and conjure the idea of passively viewing a story with a set beginning, middle, and end. This is reinforced by the fact that most video art has a playing time listed or is viewed in a darkened room in the same way as one would view a movie. Alternately, once a painting is hung, the artist is no longer in control of the way it is viewing the story. The viewer now determines the time and narrative. This paper looks at a new way of expressing video art by analyzing the installation "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse". The animations that are part of the installation are edited as the viewer is experiencing it in an attempt to approximate how we view a painting. Finally, the impact of the installation is compared to a short film created from the same footage; this time, it is viewed in a dark room with the artist in control of how the story unfolds.展开更多

For single-GPU, we first use a neighborhood search algorithm of compacting cell index combined with...In this paper, we present an acceleration strategy for Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) on multi-GPU platform. For single-GPU, we first use a neighborhood search algorithm of compacting cell index combined with spatial domain characteristics For multi-GPU, we focus on the changing patterns of SPH's computational time. Simple dynamic load balancing algorithm works well because the computational time of each time step changes slowly compared to previous time step. By further optimizing dynamic load balancing algorithm and the communication strategy among GPUs, a nearly linear speedup is achieved in different scenarios with a scale of millions particles. The quality and efficiency of our methods are demonstrated using multiple scenes with different particle numbers.展开更多
