The tensile results show that lower aging temperature modi...The tensile properties and fatigue behavior of an Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy were investigated by performing tensile tests and fatigue crack propagation (FCP) tests. The tensile results show that lower aging temperature modified retrogression and re-aging (RRA) process enhances the elongation, but reduces the strength of the alloy, as compared to conventional RRA process which employs peak aging temperature. Both ductility and strength, however, are increased by employing a natural aging prior to re-aging based on the former modified RRA process. Fatigue test results show that both routes reduce FCP rate. Especially, the lower re-aging temperature modified RRA process obtains the lowest FCP rate. Natural aging treatment could enhance the nucleation rate of GP zones. A large amount of GP zones could be cut by dislocations, which is responsible for the highest tensile strength and elongation, as well as lower FCP rate.展开更多

The changes of morphology, size ...The influence of different ageing processes on the microstructure, corrosion behaviors and mechanical properties of extruded Al-5.6Zn-1.6Mg-0.05Zr(wt.%) alloy was studied in this work. The changes of morphology, size and distribution of MgZn_(2)precipitate with ageing temperature and time were revealed by optical and electron microscopy. Intergranular corrosion(IGC) and exfoliation corrosion(EXCO) tests were carried out to assess the changes in corrosion susceptibility of the tempered alloy, and some white spots on the surface of the sample aged for longer time were found to be precursors of pits. Electrochemical cyclic polarization test depicted the corrosion behavior under different tempers. Ageing influences on the mechanical behaviors of the alloy were revealed by evaluating its microhardness and tensile strength. The microscopic features of the strengthening phases determined by the ageing procedure directly affect the corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of the alloy.展开更多

This work presents a process variation based stochastic model and proposes an effective analytical method to estimate interconnect delay. The technique decouples the stochastic interconnect segments by an improved decoupling method. Combined with a polynomial chaos expression (PCE), this paper applies the stochastic Galerkin method (SGM) to analyze the system response. A finite representation of interconnect delay is then obtained with the complex approximation method and the bisection method. Results from the analysis match well with those from SPICE. Moreover, the method shows good computational efficiency, as the running time is much less than the SPICE simulation's.展开更多

The second part deals with the drawing illustrations for the text of Dante's Divine Comedy composed by the Florentine painters Sandro Botticelli, Giovanni Stradano, and Federico Zuccaro. Here the emphasis is on Dante's Inferno, which comments upon Neoplatonic personalities, Florentine politics, and current popular art. The proposed tuning formula consistently gives better performance in comparison to several well-known methods at the same degree of robustness for stable, integrating and unstable processes. For the selection of the closed-loop time constant(τc), a guideline is provided over a broad range of time-delay/time-constant ratios on the basis of the peak of maximum sensitivity(Ms). An analysis has been performed for the uncertainty margin with the different process parameters for the robust controller design. It gives the guideline of the Ms-value settings for the PI controller designs based on the process parameters uncertainty. Furthermore, a relationship has been developed between Ms-value and uncertainty margin with the different process parameters(k, τ and θ). Simulation study has been conducted for the broad class of processes and the controllers are tuned to have the same degree of robustness by measuring the maximum sensitivity, Ms, in order to obtain a reasonable comparison.展开更多

In this study, an on-line information system for phosphorus removal processes was established. Based on the analysis for four systems with different ecological community structures and two operation modes, anaerobic-aerobic process and anaerobic-anaerobic process, the characteristic patterns of oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) and pH were related to phosphorous dynamics in the anaerobic, anoxic and aerobic phases, for determination of the end of phosphorous removal. In the operation mode of anaerobic-aerobic process, the pH profile in the anaerobic phase was used to estimate the relative amount of phosphorous accumulating organisms (PAOs) and glycogen accumulat-ing organisms (GAOs), which is beneficial to early detection of ecology community shifts. The on-line sensor val-ues of pH and ORP may be used as the parameters to adjust the duration for phosphorous removal and community shifts to cope with influent variations and maintain appropriate operation conditions.展开更多
In order to apply grinding method for degradation of pentachlorophenol(PCP) to an industrial scale,the proportion of different materials[CaO,SiO_2 and CO(NH_2)_2]and the size of grinding balls were examined.For saving...In order to apply grinding method for degradation of pentachlorophenol(PCP) to an industrial scale,the proportion of different materials[CaO,SiO_2 and CO(NH_2)_2]and the size of grinding balls were examined.For saving energy and increasing dechlorination efficiency,the rotation speed and grinding time were maintained at relatively low values.At a mass ratio of grinding balls to materials(40:1),PCP was added into a big steel jar(300 ml) with other materials to grind at 300 r ·min^(-1)for 5 h.The results indicated that when PCP was mixed with CaO and SiO_2in a molar ratio of 1:60:60,the best dechlorination of 58.4%was achieved.CO(NH_2)_2 could not be used as hydrogen donor in the dehalogenation by mechanochemical reaction,since it restrained the dechlorination process.The size of grinding balls has significant effect on the reaction.The experiment with 5 mm steel balls indicates that the weight is too light to provide appropriate energy for the reaction,while steel balls of 10 and 15 mm could give better dechlorination reaction.It indicates that dechlorination depends on the mass of balls and fill rate.展开更多

In this study,four sequencing batch reactors(SBR),with the sludge retention time(SRT)of 5,10,20 and 40 d,were used to treat domestic wastewater,and the effect of SRT on nitrite accumulation in the biological nitrogen ...In this study,four sequencing batch reactors(SBR),with the sludge retention time(SRT)of 5,10,20 and 40 d,were used to treat domestic wastewater,and the effect of SRT on nitrite accumulation in the biological nitrogen removal SBR was investigated.The real-time control strategy based on online parameters,such as pH,dissolved oxygen(DO)and oxidation reduction potential(ORP),was used to regulate the nitrite accumulation in SBR. The model-based simulation and experimental results showed that with the increase of SRT,longer time was needed to achieve high level of nitritation.In addition,the nitrite accumulation rate(NAR)was higher when the SRT was relatively shorter during a 112-day operation.When the SRT was 5 d,the system was unstable with the mixed liquor suspended solids(MLSS)decreased day after day.When the SRT was 40 d,the nitrification process was significantly inhibited.SRT of 10 to 20 d was more suitable in this study.The real-time control strategy combined with SRT control in SBR is an effective method for biological nitrogen removal via nitrite from wastewater.展开更多

In the process, Mn(IV) is reduced to Mn(II) and the ZnS converted to ZnSO4. In the process, Mn and Zn are solubilized. By studying the effects of quantity of reducing agent and sulfuric acid added and of time, temperature and liquid-to-solid ratio on the leaching process, the optimum technological conditions have been achieved under which the amount of manganese leached was 98 %. The silver can be removed from remaining solids by adding ammonia liquor. Then by adding hydrazine hydrate, sponge silver with purity up to 99 % can be obtained with a recovery of 87 %.展开更多

The effects of the welding parameters, namely the tool rotational speed, welding speed, axial load and pin profile, on the ultimate tensile strength and the tensile elongation were analyzed using a three-level, four-factor Box-Behnken experimental design. The developed design was utilized to train the ANFIS models. The predictive capabilities of RSM and ANFIS were compared based on the root mean square error, the mean absolute error, and the correlation coefficient based on the obtained data set. The results demonstrate that the developed ANFIS models are more effective than the RSM model.展开更多

The Renaissance audience accomplished such a creative act by making use of rhetoric and figurative arts. However, it is pre-eminently words that trigger and support the imagination, as Shakespeare's drama best exemplifies. Both in the Elizabethan drama and in the Italian Renaissance theatre, with its perspectival vision, the spectator's creative act takes place in an ideal space where the stage space turns into the locus of stereoscopic vision. Consequently, the creation and consumption of the vision originates first and foremost in drama (comedy and tragedy). The psychological, aesthetic, and anthropological mechanisms at the heart of vision, and the fruition of the images deriving from words, can be found as operating within the dramatic text, from the point of view of both the playwright and of the spectator/listener, in a direct relationship of cause and effect. Religious and especially Jesuitical drama, whose theatrical experience aims at discovering a correspondence between words and images, testifies to the visual power of the theatre.展开更多

The on-line sensor val-ues of pH and ORP may be used as the parameters to adjust the duration for phosphorous removal and community shifts to cope with influent variations and maintain appropriate operation conditions.
文摘In order to apply grinding method for degradation of pentachlorophenol(PCP) to an industrial scale,the proportion of different materials[CaO,SiO_2 and CO(NH_2)_2]and the size of grinding balls were examined.For saving energy and increasing dechlorination efficiency,the rotation speed and grinding time were maintained at relatively low values.At a mass ratio of grinding balls to materials(40:1),PCP was added into a big steel jar(300 ml) with other materials to grind at 300 r ·min^(-1)for 5 h.The results indicated that when PCP was mixed with CaO and SiO_2in a molar ratio of 1:60:60,the best dechlorination of 58.4%was achieved.CO(NH_2)_2 could not be used as hydrogen donor in the dehalogenation by mechanochemical reaction,since it restrained the dechlorination process.The size of grinding balls has significant effect on the reaction.The experiment with 5 mm steel balls indicates that the weight is too light to provide appropriate energy for the reaction,while steel balls of 10 and 15 mm could give better dechlorination reaction.It indicates that dechlorination depends on the mass of balls and fill rate.

文摘This paper focuses on a non-linear relationship between the course of one individual's life and its creative reshaping in the literary work of art as experienced in Julian Barnes's novel The Noise of Time. Contemplating a creative process of writing, the author seems to insist on a symbiosis between art and life. Writing about Shostakovich, he goes on challenging aWs ability to deliver a clear message about life: how to put what one has experienced into words? A creative dialogue thus established between a non-speaking, extra-linguistic, and unique self and its verbal representation in literature is built upon a relational nature of the said and the not-said. Eloquent silence is employed to transpose one's life experience into the realm of verbal represenation. Focusing on the limits of verbal representation, Barnes' character in The Noise of Time similarly strives to grasp a meaning of the relationship among language, "silence", and liberation from the self. Refiguring silence as one of the most valuable narrative devices, the text challenges the illusory nature of historical time, of historical places, and of selfhood

文摘In this study,four sequencing batch reactors(SBR),with the sludge retention time(SRT)of 5,10,20 and 40 d,were used to treat domestic wastewater,and the effect of SRT on nitrite accumulation in the biological nitrogen removal SBR was investigated.The real-time control strategy based on online parameters,such as pH,dissolved oxygen(DO)and oxidation reduction potential(ORP),was used to regulate the nitrite accumulation in SBR. The model-based simulation and experimental results showed that with the increase of SRT,longer time was needed to achieve high level of nitritation.In addition,the nitrite accumulation rate(NAR)was higher when the SRT was relatively shorter during a 112-day operation.When the SRT was 5 d,the system was unstable with the mixed liquor suspended solids(MLSS)decreased day after day.When the SRT was 40 d,the nitrification process was significantly inhibited.SRT of 10 to 20 d was more suitable in this study.The real-time control strategy combined with SRT control in SBR is an effective method for biological nitrogen removal via nitrite from wastewater.

文摘The Igbo artists of all generations, from the pre-colonial to the post-colonial period, and from her traditional to contemporary art practices, have demonstrated the ability to express the material, as well as spiritual world of the lgbo cultural society. The fear of the unknown, uncertainties of the forest, river, mountain, seas, oceans, lightening, thunder, and the changing weather, brings her artists in constant contact with their spirituality. Over time, these artists have demonstrated their inherent ability to perceive, through their various art practices, the unseen, speak the unspoken, revere and share in the silent salient world of their ancestors, as well as preserve it for posterity. This paper presents an insight into the Igbo cultural society with reference to her indigenous and contemporary art practices. It identifies the trajectories of her art and cultural developments toward contemporary and global acceptance, and in addition attempts to identify her visual creative frontiers.
文摘It is demonstrated that a low grade, silver containing manganese deposit can be exploited by reaction with a ZnS concentrate. In the process, Mn(IV) is reduced to Mn(II) and the ZnS converted to ZnSO4. In the process, Mn and Zn are solubilized. By studying the effects of quantity of reducing agent and sulfuric acid added and of time, temperature and liquid-to-solid ratio on the leaching process, the optimum technological conditions have been achieved under which the amount of manganese leached was 98 %. The silver can be removed from remaining solids by adding ammonia liquor. Then by adding hydrazine hydrate, sponge silver with purity up to 99 % can be obtained with a recovery of 87 %.

文摘A comparative approach was performed between the response surface method(RSM) and the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS) to enhance the tensile properties, including the ultimate tensile strength and the tensile elongation, of friction stir welded age hardenable AA6061 and AA2024 aluminum alloys. The effects of the welding parameters, namely the tool rotational speed, welding speed, axial load and pin profile, on the ultimate tensile strength and the tensile elongation were analyzed using a three-level, four-factor Box-Behnken experimental design. The developed design was utilized to train the ANFIS models. The predictive capabilities of RSM and ANFIS were compared based on the root mean square error, the mean absolute error, and the correlation coefficient based on the obtained data set. The results demonstrate that the developed ANFIS models are more effective than the RSM model.
文摘To see what lacks representation on stage is a fully creative act that the spectator performs thanks to his or her imagination, as (s)he is called to retrieve via memory what is objectively absent from the scene. The Renaissance audience accomplished such a creative act by making use of rhetoric and figurative arts. However, it is pre-eminently words that trigger and support the imagination, as Shakespeare's drama best exemplifies. Both in the Elizabethan drama and in the Italian Renaissance theatre, with its perspectival vision, the spectator's creative act takes place in an ideal space where the stage space turns into the locus of stereoscopic vision. Consequently, the creation and consumption of the vision originates first and foremost in drama (comedy and tragedy). The psychological, aesthetic, and anthropological mechanisms at the heart of vision, and the fruition of the images deriving from words, can be found as operating within the dramatic text, from the point of view of both the playwright and of the spectator/listener, in a direct relationship of cause and effect. Religious and especially Jesuitical drama, whose theatrical experience aims at discovering a correspondence between words and images, testifies to the visual power of the theatre.
