We analyze the dynamics of a bright soliton in atomic scattering length in an expulsive parabolic potential. Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) with time-dependent Under a safe ravage of parameters in which the Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation is effective in one dimension, our results show that, the dynamics of the bright soliton can be classed into two phases, depending on the value of the scattering length. Meanwhile, there exists a critical value of the absolute value of the atomic scattering length, below which, the dynamics of the bright soliton is very regular. Those phenomena can be useful for developing concrete applications of the nonlinear matter waves. We also obtain the orbital equation of the bright soliton and get some interesting data which may be useful for the experimental observation of the bright soliton and the application of the atom laser with manipulated intensity. 展开更多

The results indicate that a broad solitons is generated at the beginning, and as time evolves, the intensity width of grey solitons decreases monotonically to a minimum value toward steady state. In the same propagation time, the FWHM of solitons decreases with p increasing or m decreasing. Moreover, the formation time of solitons is independent of p and m. We present three families of one-soliton solutions for (2+1)-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation with both time-dependent scattering length and gain or loss in a harmonic trap. Then we investigate the dynamics of these solitons in Bose-Einstein condensate8 (BECs) by some selected control functions. Our results show that the intensities of these solitons first increase rapidly to the condensation peak, then decay very slowly to the background; thus the lifetime of a bright soliton, a train of bright solitons and a dark soliton in BECs can be all greatly extended. Our results offer a useful method for observing matter-wave solitons in BECs in future experiments. 展开更多

The time-dependent formation of one-dimensional two-photon screening-photovoltaic(PV) grey spatial solitons under low-amplitude conditions is presented theoretically.The time-dependent propagation equation of two-photon screeningphotovoltaic solitons is obtained by the numerical method.The results indicate that as the time evolves,the intensity width of grey screening-photovoltaic spatial solitons decreases monotonously to a minimum value towards the steady state.The higher the ratio of soliton peak intensity to the dark irradiation intensity,the narrower the width of grey solitons within the propagation time. 展开更多

Dark soliton solutions for space-time fractional Sharma–Tasso–Olver and space-time fractional potential Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equations are determined by using the properties of modified Riemann–Liouville derivative and fractional complex transform. After reducing both equations to nonlinear ODEs with constant coefficients, the tanh ansatz is substituted into the resultant nonlinear ODEs. The coefficients of the solutions in the ansatz are calculated by algebraic computer computations. Two different solutions are obtained for the Sharma–Tasso–Olver equation as only one solution for the potential Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equation. The solution profiles are demonstrated in 3D plots in finite domains of time and space. 展开更多

Controlling Soliton Collisions of Condensates by Time-Dependence of Both Interactions and External Potential

Considering time-dependence of both interactions and external potential,we analytically study the collisional behaviors of two bright solitons in Bose-Einstein condensates by using Darboux transformation.It is found that for a closed external potential,the soliton-soliton distance is decreased with nonlinearly increased interactions,while the amplitude of each soliton increases and its width decreases.For linearly increased interactions but nonlinearly decreased external potential,especially,the atom transfer between two solitons is observed,different from previous theory of no atom transfer in solitons collision in a fixed external potential.In addition,it is shown that the collisional type,such as head-on,"chase",or collision period between two solitons,can be controlled by tuning both interactions and external potential.The predicted phenomena can be observed under the condition of the current experiments and open possibilities for future application in atoms transport. 展开更多

Interactions of Soliton Waves for a Generalized Discrete KdV Equation

It is well known that soliton interactions in discrete integrable systems often possess new properties which are different from the continuous integrable systems, e.g., we found that there are such discrete solitons in a semidiserete integrable system (the time variable is continuous and the space one is discrete) that the shorter solitary waves travel faster than the taller ones. Very recently, this kind of soliton was also observed in a full discrete generalized KdV system (the both of time and space variables are discrete) introduced by Kanki et al. In this paper, for the generalized discrete KdV (gdKdV) equation, we describe its richer structures of one-soliton solutions. The interactions of two-soliton waves to the gdKdV equation are studied. Some new features of the soliton interactions are proposed by rigorous theoretical analysis. 展开更多
