The effect of solution treatment time on the post-formed plasticity and ductile fracture of 7075 aluminum alloy in the hot stamping process was studied.Tensile tests were conducted on the specimens subjected to the ho...The effect of solution treatment time on the post-formed plasticity and ductile fracture of 7075 aluminum alloy in the hot stamping process was studied.Tensile tests were conducted on the specimens subjected to the hot stamping process with different solution treatment time.The digital image correlation(DIC)analysis was used to obtain the strain of the specimen.Based on the experiments and modeling,the Yld2000-3d yield criterion and the DF2014 ductile fracture criterion were calibrated and used to characterize the anisotropy and fracture behavior of the metal,respectively.Furthermore,the microstructure of specimens was studied.The experimental and simulation results indicate that the 7075 aluminum alloy retains distinct anisotropy after the hot stamping process,and there is no obvious effect of extending the solution treatment time on the material anisotropy.However,it is found that a longer solution treatment time can increase the fracture strain of the aluminum alloy during the hot stamping process,which may be related to the decrease of the second-phase particles size.展开更多

The proposed tuning formula consistently gives better performance...The motivation of this work is to obtain single PI/PID tuning formula for different types of processes with enhanced disturbance rejection performance. The proposed tuning formula consistently gives better performance in comparison to several well-known methods at the same degree of robustness for stable, integrating and unstable processes. For the selection of the closed-loop time constant(τc), a guideline is provided over a broad range of time-delay/time-constant ratios on the basis of the peak of maximum sensitivity(Ms). An analysis has been performed for the uncertainty margin with the different process parameters for the robust controller design. It gives the guideline of the Ms-value settings for the PI controller designs based on the process parameters uncertainty. Furthermore, a relationship has been developed between Ms-value and uncertainty margin with the different process parameters(k, τ and θ). Simulation study has been conducted for the broad class of processes and the controllers are tuned to have the same degree of robustness by measuring the maximum sensitivity, Ms, in order to obtain a reasonable comparison.展开更多

The accurate prediction of this defor- mation has a vital importance for the successful implementation of mining techniques. These methods have proven very important as a way to excavate coal resources from under buildings, railways, or water bodies. Elastic and visco-elastic theory are employed with a Maxwell model to formulate an analytic solution for displacement of coal pillars in room and pillar mine. These results show that the visco-elastic solution adequately predicts the coal pillar deformation over time. We conclude that the visco-elastic solution can predict the coal pillar and roadway displacement from the measured geological parameters of the conditions in situ. Furthermore, this method would be useful for mine design, coal pillar support optimization, ground subsidence prediction, and coal pillar stability analysis.展开更多

Recrystallization of extruded-rolled alloys will occur easily with deformation increasing,which is induced by addition of distortion energy.展开更多

Taking into account the temporal coherence between consecutive frames, the PCC (Pearson's Correlation Coefficient) was proposed and applied as: discarding criteria methodology, dynamic power management solution, environment observer method which selects automatically only the regions-of-interest; and taking place in the obstacle avoidance context, as a method for collision risk estimation for vehicles in dynamic and unknown environments. Even if the PCC is a great tool to help the autonomous or semi-autonomous navigation, distortions in the imaging system, pixel noise, slight variations in the object's position relative to the camera, and other factors produce a false PCC threshold. Whereas there are homogeneous regions in the image, in order to obtain a more realistic Pearson's correlation, we propose to use some prior known environment information.展开更多

Physicochemical properties of the catalysts, such as the specific surface area, pore volume and acidity, etc., were characterized to correlate with their aromatization performance data. The results showed that the pore structure of Al2O3 could significantly affect the catalyst performance. As the accessible pore diameter of the catalyst increased from 8.0 nm to 9.0 nm, the light aromatics yield increased by 2.7 percentage points, while the operating time of the catalyst nearly doubled. In addition, catalysts prepared with SiO2 and aluminum phosphate was more active and stable than that prepared with Al2O3, of which the light aromatics yield enhanced 6---8 percentage points and the rtm length, or seivice eife run length nearly doubled.展开更多

Performance evaluation on field synergy and composite regeneration of the diesel particulate filter was conducted by using the vortex crushing combustion and field synergy mathematical models. The results show that the peak temperature of the particulate filter body reaches 1180-1190 K when the regeneration time is 175 s, and there are optimal coordination degree between the velocity vector and temperature gradient of the filter body and the maximum ratio0.56-0.60 of the best burning regeneration region is obtained. Accordingly, the largest regeneration combustion rate inside the particulate filter body and the highest regeneration efficiency at the moment are achieved.展开更多

By establishing a finite sum inequality based on quadratic terms, a new delay-dependent robust stability condition is derived and expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). A suitable robust state feedback control law is presented, which guarantees that the resultant closed-loop system is regular, causal and stable for all admissible uncertainties. AIM:To describe a modified technique for placement of a tracheobronchial self-expanding plastic stent(SEPS) in patients with benign refractory hypopharyngeal strictures in order to improve dysphagia and allow strictur...AIM:To describe a modified technique for placement of a tracheobronchial self-expanding plastic stent(SEPS) in patients with benign refractory hypopharyngeal strictures in order to improve dysphagia and allow stricture remodeling.METHODS:A case series of four consecutive patients with complex hypopharyngeal strictures after combinedtherapy for laryngeal cancer,previously submitted to multiple sessions of dilation without lasting improvement,is presented.All patients underwent placement of a small diameter and unflared tracheobronchial SEPS.Main outcome measurements were improvement of dysphagia and avoiding of repeated dilation.RESULTS:The modified introducer system allowed an easy and technically successful deployment of the tracheobronchial Polyflex stent through the stricture.All four patients developed complications related to stent placement.Two patients had stent migration(one proximal and one distal),two patients developed phanryngocutaneous fistulas and all patients with stents in situ for more than 8 wk had hyperplastic tissue growth at the upper end of the stent.Stricture recurrence was observed at 4 wk follow-up after stent removal in all patients CONCLUSION:Although technically feasible,placement of a tracheobronchial SEPS is associated with a high risk of complications.Small diameter stents must be kept in place for longer than 3 mo to allow adequate time for stricture remodeling.展开更多
