The performance of the conventional Kalman filter depends on process and measurement noise statistics given by the system model and measurements.The conventional Kalman filter is usually used for a linear system,but it should not be used for estimating the state of a nonlinear system such as a satellite motion because it is difficult to obtain the desired estimation results.The linearized Kalman filtering approach and the extended Kalman filtering approach have been proposed for a general nonlinear system.The equations of satellite motion are described.The satellite motion states are estimated,and the relevant estimation errors are calculated through the estimation algorithms of the both above mentioned approaches implemented in Matlab are estimated.The performances of the extended Kalman filter and the linearized Kalman filter are compared.The simulation results show that the extended Kalman filter is much better than the linearized Kalman filter at the aspect of estimation effect. 展开更多

A new non-linear transverse-torsional coupled model was proposed for 2K-H planetary gear train, and gear's geometric eccentricity error, comprehensive transmission error, time-varying meshing stiffness, sun-planet and planet-ring gear pair's backlashes and sun gear's bearing clearance were taken into consideration. The solution of differential governing equation of motion was solved by applying variable step-size Runge-Kutta numerical integration method. The system motion state was investigated systematically and qualitatively, and exhibited diverse characteristics of bifurcation and chaos as well as non-linear behavior under different bifurcation parameters including meshing frequency, sun-planet backlash, planet-ring backlash and sun gear's bearing clearance. Analysis results show that the increasing damping could suppress the region of chaotic motion and improve the system's stability significantly. The route of crisis to chaotic motion was observed under the bifurcation parameter of meshing frequency. However, the routes of period doubling and crisis to chaos were identified under the bifurcation parameter of sun-planet backlash; besides, several different types of routes to chaos were observed and coexisted under the bifurcation parameter of planet-ring backlash including period doubling, Hopf bifurcation, 3T-periodic channel and crisis. Additionally, planet-ring backlash generated a strong coupling effect to system's non-linear behavior while the sun gear's bearing clearance produced weak coupling effect. Finally, quasi-periodic motion could be found under all above–mentioned bifurcation parameters and closely associated with the 3T-periodic motion. 展开更多

A fog threshold method for the detection of sea fog from Multi-function Transport Satellite (MTSAT1R) infrared (IR) channel data is presented.This method uses principle component analysis (PCA),texture analysis,and threshold detection to extract sea fog information.A heavy sea fog episode that occurred over China's adjacent sea area during 7 8 April 2008 was detected,indicating that the fog threshold method can effectively detect sea fog areas nearly 24 hours a day.MTSAT-1R data from March 2006,June 2007,and April 2008 were processed using the fog threshold method,and sea fog coverage information was compared with the meteorological observation report data from ships.The hit rate,miss rate,and false alarm rate of sea fog detection were 66.1%,27.3%,and 33.9%,respectively.The results show that the fog threshold method can detect the formation,evolution,and dissipation of sea fog events over period of time and that the method has superior temporal and spatial resolution relative to conventional ship observations.In addition,through MTSAT-1R data processing and a statistical analysis of sea fog coverage information for the period from 2006 to 2009,the monthly mean sea fog day frequency,spatial distribution and seasonal variation characteristics of sea fog over China's adjacent sea area were obtained. 展开更多

Cloud computing can significantly improve efficiency in Internet utilization and data management.Several cloud applications(file sharing,backup,data up/download etc.) imply transfers of large amount of data without real-time requirements.In several use-cases cloud-computing solutions reduce operational costs and guarantee target QoS.These solutions become critical when satellite systems are utilized,since resources are limited,network latency is huge and bandwidth costs are high.Using satellite capacity for cloud-computing bulk traffic,keeping acceptable performance of interactive applications,is very important and can limit the connectivity costs.This goal can be achieved installing in the Set Top Box(STB) a proxy agent,to differentiate traffic and assign bandwidth according to priority,leaving spare capacity to bulk cloud computing traffic.This aim is typically reached using a specific QoS architecture,adding functional blocks at network or lower layers.We propose to manage such a process at transport layer only.The endpoint proxy implements a new transport protocol called TCP Noordwijk+,introducing a flow control differentiation capability.The proxy includes TPCN+ which efficiently transfers low-priority bulk data and handles interactive data,keeping a high degree of friendliness.The outcomes of Ns-2simulations confirm applicability and good performance of the proposed solution. 展开更多

At 5 am 24 th June 2017, a catastrophic landslide hit Xinmo Village, Maoxian County, Sichuan Province, China. The slide mass rushed down from an altitude of 3400 m and traveled 2700 m in a high velocity. The 13 million m^3 deposition buried the whole village and caused about 100 deaths. The source area of the landslide is located in a high steep slope, average slope angle is 40o and maximal angle is 65o. The strata are interbedded Triassic Zagunao Formation metamorphic sandstone and slate with the dip slope angle of 45°. Based on high-resolution satellite remote sensing image, UAV image, DEM data, and field investigation, failure mechanism, travel features, and deposit characteristics were analyzed. The results showed that this landslide was influenced by Songpinggou Fault zone. According to the topography before the failure, the landslide is located in the back scarp of an antecedent landslide induced by Diexi Earthquake in 1933. The bedding slope provided potential rupture surface. Historical seismic activities and long-term gravitational deformation caused rock mass accumulated damages. Weathering and precipitation weakened the rock mass and finally induced shearing and tension failure. A huge block detached from the top rock slope, pushed the past landslide deposits in the middle part, rushed out of the slope bottom in a high velocity and buried the Xinmo Village. The rapid movement entrained and brought the soil into the Songping Gully which recoiled with and bounced back from the opposite mountain. 展开更多

The paper analyzes the characteristics of the vertical movement of the land in the coastal areas of China and its neighboring areas by using the GNSS observation data of the tide gauge at coastal stations of China and the land-based network GNSS reference stations in the neighboring areas,combined with the satellite altimeter and the sea-level observation data of the stations.The results show that the vertical movement of the land in China's coastal provinces and municipalities and coastal tide gauge stations is generally ascending from Liaoning to Jiangsu Province and subsiding from Shanghai to Quanzhou,Xiamen to Guangxi Autonomous Region coastal alternate pattern of elevation,local coastal plain areas such as southern Tianjin in the North China Plain,and Cang County in the Hebei Plain show significant subsidence characteristics.The uplift and subsidence of land at tide gauge stations is an important part of the relative sea level changes along the coast.The accurate characteristics of the vertical movement of land at tide gauge stations and its adjacent areas provides basis for analysis of relative sea level changes along the coast,assessment of sea level change impact and future sea level rise forecast. 展开更多

The algorithm has been successfully applied to the image fusion of SPOT PAN and TM of Guangdong province, China. The experimental results show that a perfect image fusion can be built up by using the image analytical solution and re-construction in the image frequency domain based on the physical characteristics of the image formation. The method has demonstrated that the results of the image fusion do not change spectral characteristics of the original image. 展开更多

In this paper, almost all available observational data and the latest 6.0 version of Regional Atmospheric Modeling System (RAMS) model were employed to investigate a heavy sea fog event occurring over the Yellow Sea from 2 to 5 May 2009. The evolutionary process of this event was documented by using Multifunctional Transport Satellites-1 (MTSAT-1) visible satellite imagery. The synoptic situation, sounding profiles at two selected stations were analyzed. The difference between the air temperature and sea surface temperature during the sea fog event over the entire sea region was also analyzed. In order to better understand this event, an RAMS modeling with a 15 km×15 km resolution was performed. The model successfully reproduced the main characteristics of this sea fog event. The simulated height of fog top and the area of lower atmospheric visibility derived from the RAMS modeling results showed good agreement with the sea fog area identified from the satellite imagery. Examinations of both observational data and RAMS modeling results suggested that advection cooling seemed to play an important role in the formation of this sea fog event. 展开更多

The accurate measurement of kinematic parameters in satellite separation tests has great significance in evaluating separation performance. A novel study is made on the measuring accuracy of monocular and binocular, which are the two main vision measurement methods used for kinematic parameters. As satellite separation process is transient and high-dynamic, it will bring more extraction errors to the binocular. Based on the design approach of intersection measure and variance ratio, the monocular method reflects higher precision, simpler structure and easier calibration for level satellite separation. In ground separation tests, a high-speed monocular system is developed to gain and analyze twelve kinematic parameters of a small satellite. Research shows that this monocular method can be widely applied for its high precision, with position accuracy of 0.5 mm, speed accuracy of 5 mm/s, and angular velocity accuracy of 1 (°)/s. 展开更多

GOCE kinematic orbit adjustment for EGM validation and accelerometer calibration

The main principle and mathematical model of GOCE kinematic orbit adjustment for Earth gravity field model (EGM) validation and accelerometer calibration are presented. Based on 60 days GOCE kinematic orbits with 1-2 cm accuracy and accelerometer data from 2009-11-02 to 2009-12-31, the RMS-of-fit (ROF) of them using EGM2008, EIGEN-SC, ITG- GRACE2010S and GOCO01S up to 120, 150 and 180 degree and order (d/o) are evaluated and compared. The scale factors and biases of GOCE accelerometer data are calibrated and the energy balance method (EBM) is performed to test the accuracy of accelerometer calibration. The results show that GOCE orbits are also sensitive to EGM from 120 to 150 d/o. The ROFs of EGMs with 150 and 180 d/o are obviously better than those of EGMs with 120 d/o. The ROFs of GOCO01S and ITG-GRACE2010S are almost the same up to 120 and 150 d/o, which are about 3.3 cm and 1.8 cm, respectively. They are far better than those of EGM2008 and EIGEN-SC with the same d/o. The ROF of GOCO01S with 180 d/o is about 1.6 em, which is the best one among those EGMs. The accelerometer calibration accuracies (ACAs) of ITG-GRACE2010S and GOCO01S are obviously higher that those of EGM2008 and EIGEN-SC. The ACA of GOCO01S with 180 d/o is far higher than that of EGMs with 120 d/o, and a little higher than that of ITG-GRACE2010S with 150 d/o. I t is suggested that the newest released EGM such as GOCO01S or GOCO02S till at least 150 d/o should be chosen in GOCE precise orbit determination (POD) and accelerometer calibration. 展开更多

This issue is analyzed through theoretical deduction and practical example in this paper. Firstly,the difference between the results of Euler vectors in different solving models is deduced. Meanwhile, based on GNSS horizontal movement field in the Chinese mainland from 2004 to 2007,two common models( RRM and REHSM) are used to discuss the impact of solving models on Euler vectors and the follow-up study. The result shows that the maximum value of the difference in a block's entire rotation can reach 2. 6mm /a,and should not be ignored. Therefore,the results of horizontal movement are different using different kinematic block models,and this should be paid more attention in the analysis of crustal horizontal movement. 展开更多

The feasibility of such a combination of these two technologies, microwave and satellite, is subject to the compatibility of both systems in terms of the control equipment. For the microwave toll system, economic analyses according to EU directives were prepared for the Czech Ministry of Transport. Special attention is paid to the problems of traffic congestion, noise and damage to the environment, on the basis of the "user pays" and "polluter pays" according to the Eurovignette Directive principles. Transiting extrasolar planets(exoplanets),especially those orbiting bright stars, are desired for study of the diversity of planetary compositions, internal structures and atmospheres beyond our solar system. Dome A at Antarctica is a promising site for planetary transit surveys,where the continuous darkness and the large clear-sky fraction in the winter months greatly enhance the detection efficiency. The Chinese Small Telescope ARray and the Antarctic Survey Telescopes are the first facilities that have been operated at Dome A for use in exoplanet surveys. To increase the sky coverage, a low-temperature-resistant wide-field robotic telescope, named the bright star survey telescope(BSST), has been developed to join the ongoing planetary transit survey in Antarctica. The BSST has an aperture size of 300 mm and is equipped with a largeframe 4K×4K CCD camera to receive starlight from a 3.°4×3.°4 field of view. The BSST was operated at Lijiang observatory in April and May 2015 for a test run.Photometric precision of 3.5 mmag was achieved for stars with V~11 mag using 75 s exposures. The transiting events of two Jupiter-size exoplanets, HAT-P-3b and HATP-12 b, were observed on May 10 and May 20, 2015,respectively. 展开更多
