Interfacial adhesion between carbon fibers(CF)and polyetherketoneketone(PEKK)is a key factor that affects the mechanical performances of their composites.It is therefore of great importance to impregnate the CF bundles with PEKK as effi-ciently as possible.We report that PEKK with a good dispersion in a mixed solution of 4-chlorophenol and 1,2-dichloroethane can be introduced onto CF surfaces by solution impregnation and curing at 280,320,340 and 360℃.The excellent wettability or infiltra-tion of the PEKK solution guarantees a full covering and its tight binding to CFs,making it possible to evaluate the interfacial shear strength(IFSS)with the microdroplet method.The interior of the CF bundles is completely and uniformly filled with PEKK by solu-tion impregnation,leading to a high interlaminar shear strength(ILSS).The maximum IFSS and ILSS reached 107.8 and 99.3 MPa,respectively.Such superior shear properties are ascribed to the formation of amorphous PEKK in the small spaces between CFs. 展开更多

In experimental analyses, a 237 nm broadband infrared continuum was generated pumped at 1 550 nm(normal dispersion regime) by 1.6 ps pulses from an erbium-doped fiber laser. In addition, we conduct the numerical analyses of SC based on generalized nonlinear Schr dionger equation. The results have been applied to investigate the dominant physical processes underlie the generation of SC. We conclude that dispersion, self-phase modulation(SPM),four-wave-mixing(FWM) and Raman scattering are determinants of SC generation rather than fission of soliton in normal-dispersion PCF. 展开更多

A dual-wavelength erbium doped fiber laser with a tilted fiber Bragg grating and photonic crystal fiber is proposed and demonstrated. In the laser, a 2W EDFA provides gain for all the laser lines; the highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber introduces dynamic energy transfer between the two wavelengths caused by four wave mixing effect, so that a stable dual- wavelength oscillation at room temperature is implemented. Different switching modes can be achieved by adjusting the lateral offset between the fiber grating and the guiding single mode fiber or by varying the state of polarization in the laser cavity. The maximum of output power of the laser has reached 314mW. 展开更多

This fiber has three-fold symmetry core. The doped region in the core and the big air-holes in the 1-st ring can make high nonlinearity in the PCF. And the small air-holes in the 1-st ring and the radial increasing diameters air-holes rings in cladding can be used to turn the dispersion properties of the PCF. We can achieve the optimized optical properties by carefully selecting the PCF's structure parameters. A PCF with flattened dispersion is obtained. The dispersion is within ±0.8 ps·nm-1·km-1 from 1.50 μm to 1.62 μm. The nonlinear coefficient is about 12.645 6 W-1·km-1, the fundamental mode area is about 10.257 9 μm2 and the birefringence is about 3.086 96×10-5 at 1.55 μm. This work may be useful for effective design and fabrication of dispersion flattened photonic crystal with high nonlinearities. 展开更多

And the experiential formulas of the relation between refractive index of some kinds of liquid and their concentration are given, in order to measure the concentration of the relative liquid. At the same time, the effect of propagation constant on PCF sensor character is also discussed. Furthermore, the photonic medium relative dielectric constant, when it is injected with . band-gap (PBG) of PCF (PBG-PCF) is calculated at different different medium. The dispersion properties in the short wavelength region of total internal reflective photonic crystal fiber(TIRPCF) in Compton scattering have been studied by using the model of the equivalent twin waveguide soliton coupling, dispersion management solitons and effective refractive index. It is shown that the positive dispersion of the cladding waveguide of TIRPCF and the negative dispersion of its core waveguide are quickly increased by the square of the collision non-elastic composition between the electron and photons, and they are lessened by the increase of the electron absorption photon number. Under the one-photon nonlinear Compton scattering, the method of the compensated probing laser diffraction by the phase hole induced by the stationary pumping laser in the cladding waveguide enables the average dispersion value of TIRPCF to be close to zero, and the zero dispersion point quickly shifts to the short wavelength region. 展开更多

The results show that the fiber characterized by flattened dispersion with small normal dispersion is suitable for flat wideband supercontinuum generation. In the process of spectral broadening, self-phase modulation plays a dominant role. By filtering the supercontinuum, multi-wavelength pulses can be obtained over a wide spectral range. 展开更多

For example,60- femtosecond pulse width was made for 1-ps initial pulse width only over the distance of 2.2 m.Besides,shorter optimum fiber length for compression and higher compression ratio could be obtained on the premise of pre-chirp technique. 展开更多

A full-vector plane-wave method is introduced, particularly in calculating the photonic crystal in-plane photonic bandgap of a 2D triangular structure. Using numerical simulation, we can obtain the in-plane bandgap structure of a hollow-core photonic crystal fiber. In the experiments, we measured the transmission spectra of a hollow-core photonic crystal fiber and a silica rod. And using the numerical calculation we can get the relative transmission spectrum of a hollow-core photonic crystal fiber. Compared with the result of theoretical simulation, we found that they are in accordance with each other, i.e. they have the same bandgap in about the same normalized frequency. 展开更多

The simulation of blast furnace slag was prepared by pure chemical reagents.Test methods like DSC,XRD and SEM were used to study the effect of Al2O3 and MgO content on crystallization of blast furnace slag during fiber formation.The results show that as Al2O3 and MgO contents in the sample changed,blast furnace slag was crystallized at the average temperature below 1232 K.When the ratio of Mg/Al in the samples is 0.6 calculated by Kissinger equation,crystallization activation energy is at the maximum value and the system is in the most stable condition.The sample crystallization phases are mainly calcium akermanite(2CaO?MgO?2SiO2)and gehlenite(2CaO?Al2O3?SiO2).Secondary crystallization phases are anorthite(CaAl2Si2O8),wollastonite minerals(WOLLA)and pyroxene minerals(cPyrA).Meanwhile,the principal crystallization phases of the samples are different types and have different contents,and the microstructures of the sample sections are different due to the difference between MgO/Al2O3 ratio. 展开更多
