Two kinds of solutions have been obtained: Bell-Szekeres (BS) type and homogeneous type. After imposing the junction condition, we find that only the BS type solution is physically well-defined. Furthermore, we show that the future curvature singularity is always developed for our solutions.展开更多

The results show that pressure of the explosion and detonation velocity decrease in the same section areas after bending. In bending conditions, detonation wave was similar to small angle comer diffraction. So the detonation velocity was lower than normal velocity.展开更多

Chiral nature of the mass results in chirality of gravitons and their energy confinement within the constant energy charge of a moving thermodynamical body. Zero energy-momentum gravitons provide dissipative self-heating and spiral fall of massive stars on gravitating centers. Computed self-heating of the pulsar PSR B1913+16 quantitatively describes its period decay without an outward emission of metric waves in question. Deviation of warm bodies from geodesic trajectories of cold point matter complies with Einstein's directives toward pure field physics of material space plenum without metric singularities.展开更多

Methods Comprehensive therapy was applied to all of 189 cases of any type of spinal stenosis, in which gukong needling technique was applied to Huatuo Jiaji (夹脊EX-B 2) at C4 - T5 and T12 - L5, associated with vertebral curvature adjustment with traction. The therapeutic effects were observed. Results Total effective rate was 96.8%, in which, clinical cured rate was 31.7% and excellent and good rate was 89.9% in average 28-month fol- low-up visit. Conclusion Spinal stenosis is segmental dynamic stenosis. It can be cured by acupuncture on Huatuo Jiaji (夹脊EX-B 2) and vertebral curvature adjustment and satisfactory result is achieved.展开更多

The singularity indices were introduced by Xiao(1991) to classify singular fibers of hyperelliptic fibrations and to compute global invariants locally. In semistable case, the author shows that the modular invariants corresponding to the boundary divisor classes are just the singularity indices. As an application, the author shows that the formula of Xiao for relative Chern numbers is the same as that of Cornalba-Harris in semistable case.展开更多

Tests of this claim at different scales are both interesting and important. Experiments in territory labs and several exterritorial tests have put some upper limits on photon mass, e.g., torsion balance experiment in the lab shows that photon mass should be smaller than 1.2 x 10-51g. In this work, this claim is tested at a cosmological scale by looking at strong gravitational lensing data available and an upper limit of 8.71 x 10-39g on photon mass is given. Observations of energy-dependent gravitational lensing with not yet available higher accuracy astrometry instruments may constrain photon mass better.展开更多

Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae(Xoo) is the causal agent of rice leaf blight disease. The strain PXO99 A has 18 non-TAL(transcription activation-like) effectors; however, their mechanisms of action and host target proteins remain largely unknown. Although the effector XopR from the Xoo strain MAFF311018 was shown to suppress PAMP-triggered immune responses in Arabidopsis, its target has not yet been identified. Here, we show that PXO99 A XopR interacts with BIK1 at the plasma membrane. BIK1 is a receptor-like cytoplasmic kinase(RLCK) belonging to the RLK family of proteins and mediates PAMP-triggered stomatal immunity. In turn, BIK1 phosphorylates XopR. Furthermore, XopR suppresses PAMP-triggered stomatal closure in transgenic Arabidopsis expressing XopR. In addition, XopR is able to associate with RLCKs other than BIK1. These results suggest that XopR likely suppresses plant immunity by targeting BIK1 and other RLCKs.展开更多

To describe this discrepancy, two distinct theories have been proposed so far: existence of dark matter and modification of underlying gravitational theory. In the absence of dark matter, it is assumed that the theory of general relativity on galactic scales needs to be modified. This letter is devoted to explaining this difference in a modified teleparMIeI gravity. We show that modified teleparallel gravity favors flatness of rotation curves of spiral galaxies much in the same way as observation shows.展开更多
