Changes in the fungal and bacterial biomass and community structure in litter after the volcanic eruptions of Mount Usu, northern Japan were investigated using a chronosequence approach, which is widely used for analyzing vegetation succession. The vegetation changed from bare ground (10 years after the eruptions) with little plant cover and poor soil to monotonic grassland dominated by Polygonum sachalinense with undeveloped soil (33 years) and then to deciduous broad-leaved forest dominated by Populus maximowiczii with diverse species composition and well-developed soil (100 years). At three chronosequential sites, we evaluated the compositions of phospholipid fatty acids (PLFAs), carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) contents and the isotope ratios of C (δ13C) and N (δ15N) in the litter of two dominant species, Polygonum sachalinense and Populus maximowiezii. The C/N ratio, δ13C and δ15N in the litter of these two species were higher in the forest than that in the bare ground and grassland. The PLFAs gradually increased from the bare ground to the forest, showing that microbial biomass increased with the development of the soil and/or vegetation. The fungi-to-bacteria ratio of PLFA was constant at 5.3 ± 1.4 in all three sites, suggesting that fungi were predominant. A canonical correspondence analysis suggested that the PLFA comoosition was related to the successional ages and the developing soil properties (P 〈 0.05, ANOSIM). The chrono- sequential analysis effectively detected the successional changes in both microbial and plant communities. 展开更多

Abstract This study was conducted to clarify the characteristics high-pressure water sprayer in the period from June 2010 to April 2011 of algal succession following rock scraping using hoe or We divided the research area off the eastern coast of Korean near Imwon into 3 categories depending upon the severity of the barren ground, i.e., the urchin barren-affected, urchin bar- ren-ongoing and urchin barren-free areas. In April 2011, in the urchin barren-affected area with 25 seaweed species, the cover per- centage and importance value (IV) of erustose coralline algae were higher than those of other species. In the urchin barren-ongoing area with 33 seaweed species, crustose coralline algae (mean IV=62%) as well as Sargassum sp. (mean IV=28%), and Gelidium amansii (mean IV= 19%) were observed following rock scraping. In the urchin barren-free area where seaweed communities were relatively abundant with 42 species, a variety of algal species including G. amansii (mean IV = 32%) underwent algal succession. Overall, it was observed that, as an aspect of algal succession, the weaker the barren ground severity was, the more frequent and di- verse the seaweeds were, and the more complex the succession pattern was in the study. As an aspect of recovering algal community, rock scraping using hoe was shown to be superior to the method using high-pressure water spraying. Therefore, we conclude that rock scraping using hoe is a very effective strategy for recovering the algal community in urchin barren-ongoing area. 展开更多

This paper has integrated various methods such as laboratory physical and chemical analysis, engine bench test and actual road test, etc. to conduct a feasibility study on the emergency alternative fuel of gasoline by mixed jet fuel and gasoline. The study shows that both the evaporability and anti-knock quality decrease after mixing jet fuel with gasoline. While the mixing proportion increases, the engine power decreases and the fuel consumption increases gradually. When the proportion reaches 40%, the engine power drops by 5.3% to 11.7%, the fuel consumption rises by an average of 3.8%, and meantime the oil dilution and emission of the engine power become worse. Therefore, as for the gasoline engine, the mixed oil can only be used as emergency alternative fuel due to its harm to the engine. 展开更多

Objective:To observe the effect of warm-unblocking acupuncture plus fluticasone propionate nasal spray on the pulmonary ventilation,level of interferon-y(IFN-y)and sleep quality in parents with allergic rhinitis(AR).Methods:A total of 112 AR patients were enrolled between January 2013 and August 2018 and were divided into an observation group and a control group by the random number table method,with 56 cases in each group.Patients in the observation group received warm-unblocking acupuncture plus fluticasone propionate nasal spray,and patients in the control group only received fluticasone propionate nasal spray.The nasal symptom score,pulmonary function indexes,the levels of IFN-y and interleukin(IL)-4 in serum,and sleep quality in the two groups were compared.Results:After treatment,the total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The nasal symptom score dropped in both groups after treatment(both P<0.05),and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the con trol group(P<0.05).The pulm onary ven tilati on indexes all in creased sign ificantly after treatment in the observation group(all P<0.05);the forced expiratory volume in 1 second(FEV1)to forced vital capacity(FVC)ratio(FEV1/FVC)and the forced expiratory flow at 50%,75%and 25%-75%of the vital capacity(FEF50%,FEF75%,FEF25%-75%)in creased after treatme nt in the control group(all P<0.05);the pulm onary ven tilati on in dexes were higher in the observati on group tha n those in the control group(all P<0.05).The level of IFN-y in creased sign ificantly after t reatment in the two groups(both P<0.05)and the level of IL-4 dropped significantly(both P<0.05);the observation group had a higher IFN-y level(P<0.05)and a lower IL-4 level(P<0.05)compared with the control group.Regarding the Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI),the scores of subjective sleep quality,habitual sleep efficiency and sleep disturbances and the general PSQI score decreased significantly after treatment in both groups(all P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion:Warm-unblocking acupuncture plus fluticasone propionate nasal spray can effectively control the clinical symptoms and improve pulmonary function in the treatment of AR;this approach can regulate the levels of IFN-y and IL-4 towards the normal range in AR patients;it can also improve patient's sleep quality.This method can produce more significant efficacy than fluticasone propionate nasal spray used alone. 展开更多
